  • I was going to do a clean install of windows xp...

I was going to do a clean install of windows xp and for this I'll use the drive of the Dell operating system I have. Using what I had to restart my laptop with the disc in the drive, follow the instructions and get to the stage where the partitions are listed. I was going to delete the primary partition, and then just create a new NTFS partition. Once the installation program would end, I suppose that the machine would take me to configure the user account, but how does it work with activation.

1 should I disable xp first, or given that I have you deleted the main partition is my license already disabled xp and I can use it again? And I am doing something wrong with the whole installation process.

2.Oh, and by the way, is the license code that can be used on a similar xp installation? As if the machine is xp home edition is installed now, I can do the clean install with xp home edition with media center edition 2005 and work with this version activation code?

    Thank you all!

Dell OEM of Windows version are tied to the computer first it is installed on. That's why the disc and product 'cannot' book key using the CD in Media Center. You can try to use the CD key and product of the media centre but be prepaired ro reinstall XP home if it activates or the device drivers does not not to the configuration of your computer. I used the words "cannot" work I've seen in the past apparently universal CD a Dell for some reason any worked.

XP is "off" once it is deleted in the player.

You have a hard drive partition to do - but you would need to contact/see the FAQ from the hardware manufacturer (HP, Dell, Gateway, Lenovo, etc) to see if and how.

Otherwise - you might have to order (pay for possibly) the factory restore/recovery of the value of the manufacturer.

First, is there a way to do a refresh or low level format in Windows 7, as it is in Windows 8?

Secondly, I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, Intel Core i7 860, Biostar a 85 W CPU, 32 GB, 240 GB SSD, 1 terabyte storage SATA disk drive, and and anAMD A10 5800 K - 8 p-2 with a backup card video AMD Radeon HD 6670. Question is that when I run Speccy, Bell, or CPU - Z arc, it shows only 2 hearts working. Is there a way to turn the hearts of all who I missed, or they do not open as software requires?

Thirdly, recently I started to get this message. I see him two times:

I've used windows repair just before installation, my repair disc I created when I put to the top of the machine, ran Reimage, producer of energy, ran Malwarebytes pro and Avast Pro to find the malware or virus, System Restore used to back at a time well before the problem presented itself, cleaned everything off start Ms config looking for abnormal and any processes that I could think of. See JW Stuart's response to you.

Also note that a format of low-lever has noting to do with any version of
Windows. It's a hardware problem, not a a Windows. And it must never
be done on any modern hard drive; It would destroy the disc.

  • Disk Cleanup is not showing me the ability to clean the system error memory dump files

Hello. When I run the disk cleanup utility in Vista, it does not show the option of cleaning the system error memory dump files. It is a very serious problem. I had to delete files that I really wanted to keep, because I thought they were taking too much space. He did not make a particle of difference. I have only two GB on my C drive now. How to fix this problem?

    Kim

You must use the scroll bar on the right disk cleanup in the window that appears after checking for space to scroll to check the boxes before these items.

Deleting the less important system restore points allows you to earn useful free disk space.

A better program of disk cleanup is cCleaner. Delete System Restore points may be important if you have little free disk space. The ability to delete them is one of the tools options. You can selectively remove those created in less important moments.

cCleaner also comes with a registry tool. Do not use this tool as any registry cleaner could lead to the creation of very difficult to resolve system errors.

    http://www.CCleaner.com/download

You have free disk space in another partition on the drive or any other drive internal on your computer?

  • Lack of button "clean up system files".

I tried to run Disk Cleanup and clear up some space winsxs takes too much space, but I noticed that the button "Clean up system files" is missing. I use Windows 7 Ultimate

A new feature has been added to cleaning disc in October 2013, which is not available in cCleaner. You must change the existing settings to take advantage of the new feature. Type Disk Cleanup in the search above the Start button box and press ENTER. Click OK and after the calculation of space, you will see a window with a list of files to delete. Use the right-hand scroll bar to see the entries hidden further down the list. Check the boxes in front of the backup of the Service Pack files and cleaning Windows Update and click OK if you don't see cleaning of Windows Update then click clean up system files . You can see savings every time after Windows has been updated, but they are not as important when it is run after the first time. You must restart the computer to complete the process.

  • How do I know if I was contacted by a clean/real windows help

    Hello bigfanuk2,

Unless you have a prepaid support contract with Microsoft, then Microsoft will not contact you about problems with your PC.

To get Microsoft to contact you, you must pay.

This forum post is my own opinion and does not necessarily reflect the opinion or the opinion of Microsoft, its employees or other MVPS.

  • I was contacted by phone today by someone who said they worked for windows and couldn't stop my slow pc.

I guess it was some kind of scam. I said calling I was not interested but clearly vulnerable could get take the used technical jargo. Is a kind of warning out for windows users?

You did the right thing, Microsoft will never contact you without your knowledge.

With respect to the education of users, Microsoft has information at http://www.microsoft.com/security/default.aspx

  • Is my mother getting ripped off, she was contacted by a representative of windows phone 8, who said she has many mistakes and they consulted mote fix him.

A rep is currently approximately for 2 hours now.  She called to tell me, and it seems too hokey to me.  A representative contact you?  I think she's getting ripped off?

Your question is not clear, but if you want to say, "Someone called my mom pretending to be technical support, logged on to his computer and has been associated with for two hours now" then the answer is Yes, she is in imminent danger of having his computer corrupted, damaged or stolen from him information.  Read here:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-GB/security/online-privacy/avoid-phone-scams.aspx

You should have your mother back up all the files (photos, movies, music, etc.) that it cannot afford to lose and immediately clean up his computer and restores in factory new condition.  Check the manuals of your computer or the web support site for more details.

Finally, it must communicate with banks, investment firms, etc. and inform them of what has past.  They will advise what needs to be done to protect its banking assets or accounts online might be hacked by these people.

  • I was contacted by the company am saying that my computer is sending spam. Are they legitimate?

Am say that they are agents of microsoft and that my computer is infected with damaging files that could harm my computer from web sites and they want to guide me through a repair.   Is this likely to be true.    I'm suspicious as they called me on my home phone number.

They are FAKE and SCAM for sure. Because Microsoft won't call you for support unless you contact or fill out a proof of support and ask them to call you back for help.

I suggest you take a look at:
