I would add an SSD in the second Bay of a HP Pavilion dv7t Quad Edition.

I would add an SSD in the second Bay of a HP Pavilion dv7t Quad Edition. It's a SATA II or III?

It is SATA3. An OCZ Vertex3 would be a nice addition to your new laptop computer.

Here's a nice video detailing the installation.

  • Adding SSD to the second Bay drive in DV7-1285dx - advice please

So I recently bought a used DV7-1285dx and is considering the addition of a solid state drive to run the operating system. The current drive is 250 GB 5 400 rpm. Can I simply buy a 2.5 "SATA SSD to any size - I'm looking to 50 GB - and plop down inside and install Windows 7 on that? I've searched the Net and have not seen a solution that does this is clear.

BTW, I think that this HP forum is great. I got a good and fast response to a question I asked yesterday. It's better than the customer support (do not hit the HP - I mean in general)!

    Thanks, rich

I think that an SSD of any size should work. I recommend at least 64GB for Windows and manufacturers such as Intel, Corsair, Crucial or Patriot. I've seen a few posts that SSD works on Dv7 computers so don't worry portable...

    Concerning

    Try to follow these steps:

    1. in the database table to add the new column "JOIN_COLUMN" and add the new sequence "JOIN_SEQ".

    2. Add this new column in the entity object. (You can add this in entity object by right clicking on the entity object and then select "Synchronize with database" then the new column and press on sync)

    3. in your bookmark create button to create only one line NOT 2 rows.

4 - Open the object entity--> java--> java class--> on the entity object class generate and Tick tick on the accessors and methods of data manipulation

5 - Open the generated class to EntityImpl and go to the doDML method and write this code

  • Add the second hard drive for HP Pavilion dv7-3173nr

So rumor is my DV7 may take a second hard drive.

So I got a second drive, open the bottom where the reader will, and there is no SATA connector. Apparently I need a shopping cart or something, but I can't. Am I missing something obvious?

    Thank you.

Yes you need a shopping cart and a connector. The interface is not a standard SATA plug... There is a cable that connects the SATA drive in a small plug in the second Bay.

I want to know is you can add a ssd M2 to the HP 300-030na as a second hard drive?

I would like to have the essential motivation of the ssd for the speed of startup and disk of 1 TB for storage.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

mSata differs from SATA, and there SSD that are msata and SATA SSD. You will need to decide how you want yourself. If you want an msata player then it will go into the ports of m you have shown, but if you want a SATA SSD then you connect just like disk main HARD that is there now is also a SATA type.

  • Adding an SSD on the 2nd Bay in a HP Envy 17-j021nr

    Hello world

I know there are already a few questions similar to this one, but I just wanted to ask to be completely safe.

From what I understand, I'm suppose to use the spare part kit 605415-001, but after watching carefully the kit I don't think it comes with the appropriate cable.

My current HARD drive is connected via an AWM 20624 80 60V tablecloth, just like this picture:

On the circuit where the cable is connected, there are two marked hubs HDD1 and HDD2, the former is used by the current HARD drive.

Cable 605415-001 kit spare parts looks nothing like the cable that uses the current HARD drive.

Do I need a different Kit for the HP Envy 17-j021nr? Or I do something wrong?

Thank you all for your time!

    Christopher

First of all, let me say very nice post with photos and everything. Very clear question. I am also a model of Envy 17-j0xx with a second empty Bay. I did an image search on google with the part number of the kit that you have published and there indeed a cable that comes out of the SATA adapter and goes to the motherboard which is different from a cable layer right like in your photo, but if you look at the end of this I think that the trick is inserted into HDD2 little marked zif connector. I intend actually get the second kit car here:

The graphics card is an Intel HD Graphics 4600. Operating system is Windows 10-64 bit updated since Windows 8.1. Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thank you

I rolled back to Windows 8.1. It's not worth the hassle, but thank you for your suggestions. My main problem was, I couldn't open RAW files in Photoshop using the GPU. This occurred after the upgrade to Windows 10 so I decided to go back because all the drivers that you mentioned, I already had on my system. Thanks again for all your help and Merry Christmas.,.

  • HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition: replace the motherboard for HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition CTO Notebook PC

    HI guys,.

I have "HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition CTO Notebook PC"

    Serial number: (deleted content)

    Product number: E1P04AAR

Bought a laptp renovated off eBay from someone with thousands of positive feedbacks. It worked great for 6-7 months and then one morning it has not started up. I tried everything, called Hong Kong HP support and even bring to the service center, but was not able to get it fixed because this model was never launched in Hong Kong...

I tried calling HP we support and they would fix it for $ 300 + and that too, I send this laptop in the USA to someone I know and then HP will come from there. Is not possible.

So now what I'm trying to do is to look for the replacement of the motherboard, this is what im says does not work. I searched and found these links - I need to know if it is OK for my model?

    http://www.eBay.com/Sch/i.html?_odkw=HP+envy+motherboard&LH_PrefLoc=1&_udlo=49&_mPrRngCbx=1&LH_FS=1&...

It will be a great help if you guys allow me to know which of them is compatible with the model above.

    Thank you!!

    Hello

It's a CTO machine therefore normally only available in the United States and perhaps the Canada. Please use a portion for PC cards from the following link:

    http://PartSurfer.HP.com/search.aspx?SearchText=E1P04AAR

Again, it is a machine CTO, you should check its parts before you buy any replacement.

    Kind regards.

  • Hard drive data from the sector error on desktop HP Pavilion magnesium grey Edition p6404y

I have a HP Pavilion p6404y desktop computer. I uninstalled and reinstalled the HP Support Assistant. When I run the wizard it tells me this - "WDC WD10 EADS-65M2B1 CMSS Disk Device-4 errors in data sectors make unusable sector." He suggested I have a scanner. If I run the quick scan, it ends and shows just as fine. If I run a full scan, it reaches 62% complete (i.e. 99% of the "left foot" criterion) and seems to freeze. I left alone for two hours to get that last percent of this test, then I just give up and cancel, so I was not able to complete a full scan.

Also, often, when I start my computer first, I get a screen that says: "one of your disks should be checked for consistency.

Then, he turns his thing and says it is finished and then starts.

It seems to be very slow all the time, too.

I also, lately, get a box saying my performance is slow, I want to move from Windows Aero to Windows basic to help performance.

So I wonder, my hard drive takes a dump, or what? This system is only two years old.

    Thank you!

Hi techrex, I would say by restarting and pressing F9 to enter the Diagnostics screen and run diagnostics on your HARD drive.  If you get an error I'd say calling HP support to see what they suggest - could be that your HARD drive is on its way.

If this is the case, immediately save all your work, photos, emails, etc..  Make your recovery DVD (press F11 at startup and have up to 4 ready virgins of DVD quality to make your recovery disks.

If you need to replace the HARD drive yourself, it will be easy to recover the PC with your recovery discs.

Remember: use esd protection and always disconnect your PC from the network if you plan to open the chassis and replace the HARD drive or perform another task on your PC, like blowing any dust with a can of compressed air.

I would like to know if this suggestion helps.

  • Please HELP me choose the perfect dv7t Quad Specs

am to customize a HP Pavilion dv7t quad edition laptop.

I have a few choices to make. Money is not really a problem, but I really don't want to spend an additional $ 150, if the price difference is quite minimal. I would really see again you my current selections and determine whether or not I should make to level or downgrade, as appropriate. In addition, I would appreciate it really answering you any questions found throughout my post. Thank you very much.

    I want my laptop to:

    (1) run RuneScape without lag (with the exception of lag of the game itself)
    (2) load extremely fast programs and Web pages and maintain performance when the computer age.
    (3) I don't want my laptop overheating. My current 2009 dv7t becomes so hot whenever I use it I can't let him touch my skin, or it hurt a lot.
    (4) have a nice graphics screen
    (5) be physically attractive. My balance is: Samsung Series 9 is considered to be beautiful, the Alienware is considered hideous

With these requirements in mind, please tell me whether or not you think my cell proposed is a good choice. Also, feel free to talk to me about any other laptops that you think could work well for me. (PS: the Samsung 9 series would be able to manage Runescape? (Thank you!)

    (3) graphics card
2GB (TM) Radeon HD 6770M GDDR5 Graphics [HDMI, VGA]

Graphics memory is not so important, but the model number is. I prefer NVIDIA on AMD as it runs more fees and the drivers are updated more frequently. Most of the HP machines use custom video drivers and they cannot be updated directly from a view of the factory. HP has done a terrible job of updating their custom drivers.

A step down: 1 GB Radeon (TM) HD 6770 M GDDR5 Graphics [HDMI, VGA] ($-50,00)
Two not down: 1 GB GDDR5 Radeon (TM) HD 6490 M Graphics [HDMI, VGA] (-* 75.00)

Stick with 6770 and 1 GB of memory is good, but for only $ 50, you may as well go with the 2 GB memory.

What is the importance of the memory of a graphics card?

Not so, 1 GB is plenty for most, more serious laptops will come with more. Like I said, more the model number the better. With a laptop video card game is extensible, look for this. You cannot upgrade the video card in any HP laptop, they are soldered directly to the motherboard. Remember, however, that 99.9% of computers laptops, video cards cannot be upgraded. Too expensive.

    (4) memory
    8 GB memory (2 DIMMs) DDR3 system

8 GB is a lot, nothing more is a waste of money.

    (5) drive
1 TB 5400 RPM Hard Drive with Protection for hard drive HP ProtectSmart

A step down: 750 GB 7200 RPM hard drive HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive protection ($-80,00)

Get one with a Solid State drive and the new SATA 3 interface, make sure that the laptop can make use of the SATA 3. Ask the manufacture, but not HP, they will tell you only what you want here or they don't know. If they can't answer that question, the machine can not support SATA 3. Forget the disks of standard rotation on a portable game. They get too hot and are already obsolete.

    (6) main battery
    Battery 9 Cell Lithium-Ion

    A notch: a 6 cell and a battery 9 Cell Lithium ion ($+ 30.00)
    Two steps to the top: two 9-Cell Lithium-Ion (+ $ 60.00)

When it becomes oversized? a larger battery makes the portable warmer?

You'll be lucky if you get one hour where the game on a battery with a battery. Look for one with a system of LED backlight for more autonomy. Backlight CCFL is a thing of the past.

    (7) display
    17.3 "full HD BrightView Infinity LED (1920 x 1080)

    A step down: "17,3 HD + LED HP BrightView (1600 x 900) ($-150,00)

    Is there a difference?

    Defiantly the 1920 x 1080

    (8) primary optical drive
Drive Blu - ray & DVD SuperMulti burner

If you like to watch Blu - ray movies, then go for it. However the software and Blu - ray player can be "buggy" sometimes. May be necessary if the newest games are on Blu - ray.

    (9) customization
HP TrueVision webcam high definition with built-in digital Microphone and HP SimplePass fingerprint reader

It's yours if you want one of these things.

    (10) networking
Bluetooth (r) and Intel 802.11b/g/n WLAN

    What is bluetooth?

Bluetooth is a short-range radio that connects to Bluetooth devices such as mobile phones of mouse, headphones, etc.. I like my Bluetooth wireless mouse.

Not an HP laptop for games, they are not designed for this, pure and simple. The games here section is filled with guys and their machines to overheat.

    http://www.Samsung.com/us/computer/laptops/NP900X3A-A03US

Not good for games, much too thin to keep in the fridge for a good air circulation and no i7 processor. Unfortunately, most laptops are thick, black and heavy. But you won't have you cake and eat it too. My link also has a pathetic Intel graphics card.

  • HP Envy 14 A9P67UA spectrum #ABA: Add (or replace) mSATA SSD to the HP Envy 14 spectrum w/windows 10... possible? Worth the risk?

    Hi all!

So, I read in this forum on this subject and have seen mixed results.  I bought this computer a few years ago, generally pretty happy with it but I ran out of space and the battery is dying.  I am trying to decide whether to revise it or buy new.   That's what I want to do:

Add 2nd mSATA SSD in the second slot.  I saw a post like this HD is compatible but that's a post.  Around, I've read that others have had problems by adding a second SSD.  Some people can not access, some people, it shows only a 128 GB extra, in fact, some have a BSOD.   The post I saw replaced the original disc to help one of them and adding a second drive so the two HDs were of the same brand.  Is it a better idea?  Also, all the posts I've seen on this topic were two years old and dealt with Windows 7.  Windows 10 it will make it harder to do?

    http://www.Amazon.com/Samsung-850-mSATA-2-inch-MZ-M5E1T0BW/DP/B00TGIVRYU?ie=UTF8&PSC=1&redirect=true...

If not I can try and use the same car with the model came in the second slot to help in possible compatibility issues, but I would be limited to a 128 GB extra (or possibly 256?).

I have also upgraded the memory of 8 GB and add a new battery.

  • Can we add an SSD via Bay adapter on the W510?

    Hi people,

Can we add an SSD in the W510 ultrabay housing?

    TIA,

What operating system do you use?

If Vista or XP pro, right click on the my computer icon, click on manage, then you must activate the SSD.

If you use Windows 7, in the search box, type disk management and activate the SSD to use.
