I'm not a web programmer and just wish that the video that Firefox has superimposed instead of their usual logo on my homepage of the browser would leave. It seems that every time I access the Web page, replacing the simple logo. I don't want to continue to see the image in place of the logo. Is it possible that I can safely remove the overlay of video image shows two women of my homepage or have Firefox remove? I haven't watched the video and do not want to look at it, there is no point to make here. I like to keep my navigation very simple and clean interface. My computer is an old Dell PC running Windows 7 Professional, I think 32-bit.
Thank you!
The best way to get around that is just to create your own home page and do not use the 'default' on: homepage.
See - How to set the home pageYou can use this UserStyle - https://userstyles.org/styles/104673/about-home-hide-snippets-and-hide-brand-logo - to hide the two sections of the about: home page House that Mozilla sends messages and videos when they feel the "need".
Many of us have disabled the changes made to the top [brandLogo part] of the Start Page of Firefox and off advertising "excerpts" [under the reservoir of research] that Mozilla uses all the time now, so we don't see this "thing".
If you feel adventurous, here's how to 'fix '.
Type of topic: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Accept the message of 'dragons' to see the Advanced preferences screen. Use the search box at the top to enter the below pref.You can assign an empty string to stop your Firefox to retrieve "extracts" and brandLogo changes the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref. Right-click this pref and select Edit then clear the value as pref in the box that appears, and then click OK. Who will also disable "snippets" that appear under the container of the research on the default home page.
Then you must open the folder of your profile, via help > Troubleshooting Information > profile folder > > folder view button. Then close Firefox.
Your profile file open with Firefox closed (Firefox '3-bar' menu key > exit/Quit), wait two minutes, then remove the storage\moz-safe-about + House folder in the profile folder of Firefox to remove the brandLogo and stored in IndexedDB code snippets to make Firefox use the default brandLogo and a defined default code snippet.Restart Firefox for these changes to take effect.
If you later change your mind about these changes, you can reset the pref browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl via the context menu and Reset to retrieve the default to start to use the storage\moz-chest-fort-about + House record once again.

I would like to know how to remove the history of triangle upside
I remember head in low triangle in the front bar location. Is this something that I can remove it?
I tried to add a screenshot, but I couldn't figure out how to do this.
This drop-marker has always been there and will show the items you have types or pasted into the address bar sorted by frecency (recently and frequently visited sites).
It is possible to hide this icon if you want.Add code to the file userChrome.css below default @namespace.
@namespace url("https://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */ .urlbar-history-dropmarker { display:none!important; }
The file userChrome.css (UI) customization and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the folder of chrome in the Firefox profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:
- Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)
- Create the folder chrome (lowercase) in the .default < xxxxxxxx > profile folder if the folder does not exist
- Use a text editor like Textedit on Mac to create a userChrome.css (new) file in the folder chrome (file name is case sensitive)
- Paste the code in the userChrome.css file in the Editor window
- Make sure that the userChrome.css file starts with the default @namespace line

I just upgraded to ver. 18.0 if there isn't a way to remove the Yahoo logo please direct me to re - install the latest previous version.
Thank you.The Yahoo logo is just part of the customizable themes in Firefox. Go to the Firefox menu, select Add-ons, then select the appearance tab. Select the theme that you want, or select 'Remove' to get rid of the Yahoo theme. There should be a default theme in the list. You can also go the site of Mozilla Firefox and download other themes, or even create your own.

I would like to know how do I know when legit microsoft tech people call us.
* Original title: scams
Hello
I would like to know how do I know when legit microsoft tech people call us. They seem to know what are the problems of the computer. For example, I know technical support microsoft is outsourced. How can I know who we really are and which one is fake? If I'm registered, it is logical that they call me if my computer is not working properly. In addition, they guide you through what is wrong, before asking to enter the computer. Y at - there somewhere that we could see a list of companies that are partners of support, as well as their locations?
For a very good presentation, read this--> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/407147/answers-to-common-security-questions-best-practices/?p=2413189 (post #2 in the thread must choose an antivirus program and post #4 aims to choose an additional program to deal with software spyware and other malware that is not strictly 'virus' in nature.)
Each month, the "Patch Tuesday" Microsoft includes an updated version of the 'Malicious Software Removal Tool"in the 'important' updates. It's not settling as other updates but "runs once to find infections per prevalent malicious software (including Blaster, Sasser, and Mydoom) on your computer and remove infections it finds."
In addition, your installation of Windows 7 runs by default "Windows Defender". Microsoft confusedly used that name to refer to a software that performs different functions. In Windows 7, Windows Defender is an anti-spyware utility, not an anti-virus. Windows Defender (for Windows 7) updates are quite frequently provided through Windows Update. See http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/6397-windows-defender-turn-off.html
Microsoft also provides for free, Microsoft Security Essentials. Microsoft describes this as a "guard in real time against software viruses, spyware and other malicious software. If you install MSE, will be automatically disabled Windows Defender.
You can also download the Microsoft Safety Scanner to make a unique analysis for "virus, spyware and other malicious software."
IMO, one of the best tools that scan for malware that the virus is the free version of MalwareBytes AntiMalware. https://www.Malwarebytes.org/DL-confirm/ . during installation, you will be asked if you want to a free trial of the Premium version. Yet once, IMO, the Premium, even the free trial version, installation is not necessary.
The difference between the free version and the Premium version, which is the last runs continuously in the background ("scheduled update and scanning, the safer our real-time Protection Module. ... Another important feature is our blocking malicious Web site"). According to the company, "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is not supposed to be a replacement for antivirus software...» [and] works well and should run alongside software antivirus without conflict. https://support.Malwarebytes.org/customer/en/Portal/articles/1834872-does-Malwarebytes-anti-malware-replace-antivirus-software-?b_id=6438
A second scanner good anti-spyware is SUPERAntiSpyware. http://SUPERAntiSpyware.com/ As with MBAM, IMO all what you need is the free version. Be aware that even the free version by default at startup of Windows startup. If you install SAS, I suggest to change this option and the program running only on request.
