IBM AIX 5 L of base

Does anyone know the difference between IBM AIX 5 L system based on
and IBM Power Systems.

We cannot locate CPU patches for AIX 5 L are compatible patches CPUS.

  • the ebs 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.3 on IBM AIX 64 upgrade

    Hi experts,

We have ebs 11.5.10.2 currently, simple installation (db levels and applications on the same node) node
We intend to upgrade to the latest version 12.1.3 on 11.2.0.3.0 RDBMS.

    I need your help for the following queries;
-is it possible to configure the ebs (levels of db and apps) using RAC (only available to 2 nodes, each node must hold levels db and apps?)
-What is the required minimum nodes if I deploy on my ebs environment rac?

could you please help me with the docs needed to deploy a successful upgrade?

    Thank you.

the current environment of EBS is IBM AIX 64 single node installation.
the new topology must include 2 nodes with IBM AIX 64 > holding the DB as RAC level
and the application layer should be migrated to Linux 64.

In this case, you do not need to migrate the database and you just need to use a different OS for application-level nodes.

the measures on the current node,
    1 - upgrade 9.2.6 to 9.2.8 DB layer
    9.2.8 to 11.2.0.3 DB layer 2 - upgrade
3 - passage of the application layer, of 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.1
    4 - crossing the 12.1.1 to 12.1.3 App

    Sounds good.

I will later propose the db for oracle RAC on a new nodes with the same IBM AIX 64 platform diffenet
5 - Install the grid and the db on the new nodes
6 - import the Pb of the old node upgraded to the cars db

I still need to read good to find the best way to go through a successful upgrade.

Once you upgrade 11i to 11.2.0.3 data base, lay the R12 software on new Linux machines and complete the 12.1.1 upgrade. Then upgrade to 12.1.3 release. Once you are finished with the upgrade of the application migrate the database of unique to the RAC node.

    Thank you

  • Is there a group who is to wear the firefox, thunderbird or seamonkey for IBM AIX(5.3, 6.1 and/or 7.1)?

Just try to find a more recent version of firefox, thunderbird and seamonkey for my
IBM AIX (5.3 and 7.1) systems.
I was wondering if anyone in this forum knows of someone trying a port of the
latest version of AIX. (I use firefox 3.6.28, 3.1.20 Thunderbird and seamonkey 1.1.18)
I really must update these products. Impossible to have full access to many sites.
Would appreciate the help locating a never version running on my system.

I guess you mean not Mozilla Thunderbird. Mozilla Application Suite is a much older than Firefox 3.6.28 discontinuous product (the latest version is dated April 21, 2006).

You can find references to the VisualAge C++ compiler which is normally necessary to build. IBM has rebranded this product to XL C/C++.

  • IBM AIX running 6 servers UCS

    Hello

There is a DC environment, hosted on IBM Blade servers, they have different OS, the OS is IBM AIX Power 6 which hosts an Oracle database.

We provide a DC recovery site using Cisco UCS servers, prior to that, I want to be certain of the points below:

    1. IBM AIX power 6 compatibility with CISCO UCS servers?
    2. If we decided to choose CISCO UCS blade servers, what are the limits to the virtaulization?
    3. If virtualize us both environments, the current domain controller and the new DR, what kind of limitations we may face in terms of features of virtuatization?

    Kind regards

    Please take a look at

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/TD/docs/unified_computing/UCS/interoper...

In support for the OS, you don't see any support for AIX!

Power 6 is the IBM hardware archtitecture chip; UCS is based on the Intel chip at 100%.

    1. Why IBM power based Linux is not listed in v$ transportable_platform where we check for platform endian format? Is it because it is not supported?

    Hello

you are using IBM AIX PowerHA for your database (active/passive) configuration. then you just install the binaries 'once' on one of the nodes. then coordinate with your operating system administrator to configure the fail the test scenarios.

for your question. before you start the database, make sure that there are no "orphaned" oracle process using the UNIX grep command:

    $ ps - ef | grep ora

Kill the oracle of the hanging of the process to release the lock on the database file handle:

    $ kill-9

    I hope this helps.

    Hello

I think that your CPU is overloaded by your stress tests. You have one VCPU with 2 wires (2 LCPU), right? And the load average is greater than one. You have time DB which is not counted in (CPU time + wait events) and which comes no doubt from time spent in the runqueue.

    > Oracle recovery logs is not properly configured on this server, as in "Top 5 events of waiting", there are 2 for oder

It is an error in statspack for show "log file parallel write here." This moment is historical and is included in 'log file sync '. And I don't think you have to redo misconfiguration. Waiting for 1ms to commit is ok. In OLTP you should have more than one validation in a user interaction so that the user don't worry not about 1 m in batch mode, unless you commit to each row, 1 DC to commit should not increase the total execution time.

The fact that you have a lot of line lock (enq: TX - line lock conflict) but very little time (on average 97 ms) is probably a sign that testers are running simultaneously a charge affecting the same data. Their set of test data is perhaps too simple and short. An example: when stress tests of an order entry system if you run 1000 concurrent sessions, ordering the same product to the same customer, you can get this kind of symptoms, but the test we unrealistic.

It's a high activity of 2000 calls per second, 52 transactions per second, user. But you also have low average active sessions, so the report probably covers a period of non-uniform activity, which makes the averages without meaning.

So note to tell about the events of waiting here. But we don't have any info about 39% of DB time devoted to the CPU which is where something can be improved.

    Kind regards

    Franck.

  • Oracle 11 g 2 software download for AIX 64 Bit

    Hello

We are installation of Oracle Database 11 g Release 2 (11.2.0.1.0) on IBM AIX on POWER Systems (64-bit) servers.

My question is where we need to download the software? What is the Oracle website or on-site delivery?

    E-Delivery site: https://edelivery.oracle.com/

Site of Oracle: Oracle Database 11 g Release 2 for AIX (PPC64)

Is there a difference between downloads of site of Oracle and the delivery location?

    Best regards

    Amandine

OTN just give a quick link to download the software of database listed. On the other hand, delivery is a comprehensive database of all Oracle software, not only for the Oracle database but also of FMW, product application etc. There is no difference in the software downloaded from RTO or delivery.

    Thank you
