• License after restoring issues?

  I have a Dell T310 with SBS 2008 that I intend to upgrade a S300 controller to controller H700.  I intend to:
  1. mark and pull the current readers, then controller S300.
  2. install the H700 and put in place a disc of 2 TB as a RAID-0 and restore to ensure that the backups are working.
  3. remove the 2 TB drive and set up the disks in RAID-5 on the H700
  4 restoration.

  Question:
  Ther e will have problems with the restoration of SBS 2008 license?

  It should not be licensing issues.  Even the mere fact of the evolution of controllers and disks should not be enough for the kickoff of activation again.

• Repartitioning and system restore issues

  I have a laptop Pavilion DV6-6193 running Windows 7 x 64 Edition Home Premium, and I want to set up in an environment multiboot (Fedora, Ubuntu, Win7 Professional and the existing Win 7 Home Premium). However, since the original factory configuration created 4 primary partitions (C, D, HP_Tools, System), I have to convert the C: partition to an extent of logical drives that I need to create.  I created recovery DVD the day I brought the computer home laptop, and I have a few questions (sorry if this post is a little long - thanks for reading!):

  (1) if I change the configuration of the partition (creating the C extended partition with logical drives of different sizes), can the recovery CD restore a full wipe and system drive if I need to restore the drive to its factory condition, no matter how I manipulate the partitions of the plant or make these discs just restore C drive : ? The process of recovering factory State would work if I reformatted the drive completely?

  In other words, the recovery CD still work if I change the factory partition scheme, and they go to work, will be the Act of destructive recovery process to reformat the entire disk and recreate it as it was the day he left the factory (C, D, [Active] system and HP_tools of the score), what I need?  I did not understand if this is the case, or if the recovery process would simply restore the C: drive and the hidden system partition (not actually a complete restoration).

  (2) I thought to use the native Windows 7 system image tool to create an image of the entire disk in case I need to restore it, but given that the HP_tools hidden partition is FAT32 formatted, I can't image with native Windows tools. As I understand it, this hidden partition contains related software of the UEFI BIOS, so I don't want to reformat the hard drive and lose this partition if it cannot be recreated by the recovery disks.  Is there any software free imaging that can image and restore the entire disk, even if it contains partitions FAT32 and NTFS?

  Your recovery disks will return the laptop to its factory condition (IE with the four primary Partitions you have now), no matter how you have partitioned the HARD disk in the meantime - in fact, when you use the discs, there is no way to avoid this, it is important to backup the contents of any custom partition because they will be erased by the recovery process.

  I perform a Production to a Dev Server refresh. I made a full backup of the production and trying to restore in the dev Setup...
  
  I delivered the backup of the production to dev box... I created a database and put it in nomount mode...

  Can you check the backup file permissions after you have moved production to the development area?

  $ls ltr - /orabackup/bkp_030113/controlprod.ctl

  And make sure you set DBID of production database.

  BTW, FRA is configured?
  Work around you can try to disable and after successful restoration, again, you can activate FRA.

• I can't get my system to restore to an earlier date no matter how far back I go.

  Any date I select this option to restore, I always get the message that my system does not restore to an earlier date. I tried all the ideas based on knowledge, but in vain. I am logged on as administrator and run the AVG anti-virus.

  Here are a few articles that cover the system restore issues and information.  Some antivirus programs will be in the path of the system restore feature and might not work.  I would say the first tent to create a restore manually point and check that it creates correctly.  If it isn't then I turn off\on the system restore (This erases all previous restore points) and create a new restore point and test.
  If the problem persists then you will want to remove AVG, and test the system restore function.

• Hidden after system restore files

  recently taken food out of a date. I had a "system check" trojan virus, so took a day before the virus has occurred. When I restore my music, photo folder files, documents, etc. are 'hidden' the reason why I say hidden is because when I right click-> properties it still shows I have more than 1 GB in this specific case, but it does not appear. Any help! ??

I managed to restore the computer to a week before it happened and run the Norton System check and removed infections. But all my JPEG and MP3 files have disappeared! I want to remove these before a complete restoration. How can I find these please? /

  For these last days, an additional file for each hard disk jpg file is automatically generated that contains always two new jpg files (vcm_s_kf_m160_106x160.jpg and vcm_s_kf_repr_320x480.jpg). How can I stop it and if possible cancel it?

  As I said the system restore will not delete your photos, even those starting with "vcm_s_kf".  You will need to remove them manually, even after a system restore.

Let's say I want to do a reset or repair in factory system and I want to save my apps and my data through the backup and restore, will my apps AND restore the data on it? Because the previous time I did a reset on my Z and backed up the data, there has had no much effect, because I've always had to re - download applications and lost all data (except if the game data was stored on Google Play)

  On my Imac its 2.3.1 (build 5) and when I ask to update it says it's later.

  On my macbook Air its 2.4 (build 18) also later - I just downloaded it yesterday.

  They can't both be later.

  When I search here on backup and restore issues, the responses refer to versions 6 and 7.  Please explain.

  I have it sorted by removing the NVA 2.3.1 of the Imac, as it no longer works and installing 2.4 build 18 which is the latest Mac one.  Why there will be no update when prompted is a mystery - bad programming!

  The references of the version 6 and 7 appear to be associated with windows and gives something to this topic?

  With worm 2.4 on Mac now connects my phone and I was able to save successfully.
