  I was able to receive assistance from Adobe chat and solve the problem. I have no answers as to why I was getting the error message. But to work around the error message, here are the steps:

  1. save the image in Jpeg format (in photoshop or other)

  2. in windows Explorer, right click on the jpeg file and click on "open with" and choose Adobe Acrobat

  3. once the file is opened in Acrobat, file > save (not save as) and then save in desired file name.

  There is another option to save JPEG files in PDF format. An even better option to save images in a PDF file is to save the file in Photoshop EPS format in photoshop, you can then open it in Acrobat to save in PDF format. While recording in Jpeg format and conversion to pdf format gave a file ~ 15 mb, save the files as a PhotoshopEPS first and then convert to PDF produces a smaller file, to about 9 MB. Always the same quality.

  You must call these files in an Iframe in Muse. You can try following steps.

  You cannot control how, or if, the PDF files are presented in an e-mail. They are just incidental. SOME mail readers will find a PDF attachment and view automatically, in a way or another, perhaps as an image of dead rather than a direct PDF. Some will do it only for the single page PDF. Most don't do at all.

  If you want an interactive email with design and links, you can work with HTML.

  OK, so all the world is aware of those annoying of the headers/footers that are placed on each page during the conversion of the HTML files in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Fortunately, they are easily disabled once find you where this particular configuration is hidden (and hidden it is 'file-> Create-> Web Page PDF-> settings...-> Place headers and footers on the new page' rather than in the Preferences section where one might expect it to be).

  But what when * print * HTML file with the virtual printer "Adobe PDF"? The Print Options 'Adobe PDF' window has no such adjustment. The only parameter that looks even indirectly to the above mentioned is one that says 'Add document information', but it does not affect the inclusion of these Auto headers and footers.

  Yes, is there a way to * print * HTML file to PDF without these unwanted headers and feet page in the same way you can * convert * HTML file to PDF free of Auto headers and footers?

  In case anyone is wondering why not * convert the file to PDF format instead of print to PDF, it is simply because the conversion to PDF does not apply the margins of custom page and custom page breaks. So, if you want a PDF document with custom page margins, then print format PDF is the only way to go. Conversely, if we want to preserve the interactive features such as HTML links, cursor to highlight styles, etc., then conversion to PDF is the only way to go. In this case, I need to custom page margins - but I certainly don't need these headers/footers automatic boring.

  Nevermind, I solved it...

  Apparently, the Adobe PDF printer relies on (default?) web browser print settings. In my case, since I use both FF and IE, I open the file-> Page Setup in both browsers and set all the fields blank/Empty. Now, Adobe PDF print without headers/feet of any non desired.

  I've updated since Acrobat 9 to XI. With 9, I converted hundreds of public domain books to HTML with superb results. I'd get one html file small which was composed almost entirely of < IMG SRC > tags to individual pages/images. Once this is done, I could edit images or html code, load it in caliber and create Epub and Mobi files.

  XI wants to extract text of individual pages and insert it into the html file. No matter if I check or uncheck selection "run ocr", I get images for each line, the separation, or border. And the HTML file is full of CSS (which I'm not interested) and scrambled text.

  Is it possible I can do XI export a PDF scanned to a simple HTML file as described above?

  There is a problem when you try to export the entire file in HTML format in Acrobat XI with OCR turned off. What you can do to work around the problem, is to split your file into a few parts smaller and then perform the export. I've split your file into two parts of 150 and 68 pages and then he exported to HTML and I got the images in the output as you wish.

I tried to use my drive, but get a message that the "Hotfix Package not could be opened. I use Windows XP. Any help is appreciated.
