Unlike satellite Pro 6100 (PS610E) - two versions of the Bios?

Hello

There are two files of bios for this old laptop...

1.90 - TRAD
1.90 - WIN

What is the difference?

Best regards & thanks in advance

Tom

TRAD (traditional) version can be made using the floppy drive and the BIOS update should be saved on the diskette.
WIN version can be started under Windows operating system.

All that s.

    Help, please.
I have an older Toshiba laptop Satellite Pro 6100-PS610E ngysc-en
I was wondering what model it is.
I can't find on internet to get drivers etc.

I'm new here so if I'm wrong place, sorry

    Thank you

    Hello

It is an old Satellite Pro 6100 series.
You can't find drivers on the page of the European driver Toshiba portable computer area because pilots are moved to the archives (laptop is oldie ;)).

So to access the page of European driver of Toshiba and choose Archive in the type of product.
Then, Satellite Pro-> Satellite Pro 61xx-> Satellite Pro 6100

Here you will find the drivers available.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite Pro 6100: Bluetooth - how to connect the mobile phone

I already have a satellite pro 6100 with the bluetooth software on. I tried to connect to my mobile phone without success. The problem seems to be with the laptop rather than the phone.
How can I connect successfully. I have to update the new drivers? I bought it refurbished 3 years ago and I'm just getting round to the use of bluetooth!

Well, the Bluetooth software has been installed on your laptop, BUT the question is:
Your group has installed Bluetooth card?

AFAIK the Bluetooth is an option available on this unit. You must check the Device Manager and check the bottom of the unit if the Bluetooth label has been placed.

I think that you cannot connect your mobile phone because BT is not available.

  • Satellite Pro 6000 - how can I update the BIOS?

    Hi all

I have the problem that my laptop does not start 9 of 10 times with the message: * block 1 BIOS is damaged, call your service man.

I want to update BIOS but for the Satellite Pro 6000 I can only find an update the BIOS from Windows. But my laptop does not start! Rarely the machine starts, but when I try to update the BIOS, I get the message that I already have the latest version of the BIOS

    My questions:
    * Is there a BIOS update file that is a BIOS floppy? (for example the Satellite Pro 6100 has 2 BIOS files, 1 Windows and 1 making a floppy disk)
    * Is it possible to update the BIOS with the same version of Windows?

Or perhaps there is another solution for this problem? Has no need to update my BIOS?

    Thank you.

    Hans

    Hello

    I agree with Luke.
The rom Bios module seems to be damage.
Either it must be replaced or flashed again.

But you won't be able to do that! The update of the Bios on the Toshiba page focuses on winning and you will not be able to update if the windows are not running.

You last chance is an ASP that could check the BIOS ROM.
As I said, most high, maybe new reflash module Rom help but cela can be answered simply by an ASP technician who checked this.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 - unable to connect to the WLAN router

    Hello

    I brought a 2nd hand Satellite Pro, model version SP6100 (PS610E-029ZV-EN), P4 1.7 Ghz, 512 MB, 30 GB, with Windows 2000 Pro loaded.

I can't connect to my wireless router. The switch is in the correct position.

I want to change to XP using the key provided with the new laptop (dual OS) however I can't reformat using a XP disc at the start up or if I use the recovery cd (start with holding C and let go when he works up) it starts but displays 'specification drive not valid' three times and charges Win2000.

Can someone advise how (or if!) Can I reformat I want?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    See you soon.

Are you sure that the wireless network adapter has been installed in the laptop?
    Check in Device Manager

On some series WLan is optional. This means that the WLan card is not installed, but it is possible to install an and, consequently, the laptop contains the WLan switch.

  • Satellite Pro C660 bricked by update of the BIOS that failed

My sister asked me to update his laptop (Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-16N; The part number PSC0ME-01S00SEN) of Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) of Windows 8 (64-bit).
    So I did.

Then I went UK from Toshiba Web site to check if there are any drivers I had to install for Windows 8. The only one was an update of the BIOS (for BIOS v1.70). I don't know what was the previous BIOS version number.

So I run the update application in Windows 8. Phoenix WinPhlash Technologies starts and then in the middle of the update, everything freezes.

The trackpad would not move the cursor or anything like that. I had no choice but to disconnect the phone from the wall and remove the battery. The laptop is not under warranty.

Of course, now it won't turn. It will beep once when I press the power button, but the system does not light. A few minutes later, it looks like one long beep and two short beeps. It then keeps repeating this sequence every two minutes "one long beep, 2 short beeps".

I google and read the site after the blog after the post on the forum, but nothing works. Links to the software offered on these forums/blogs/Web sites in french are usually dead, so I can't try what they suggest.

The most common solution is the Phoenix crisis recovery tool. I managed to download v1.0.0.4 which is supposed to allow me to make a bootable USB key. The version of this tool that I downloaded is supposed to be for a Lenovo ThinkPad X 200. I have the correct BIOS.rom to C660 Pro Satellite (I renamed BIOS.wph and copied to the appropriate folder).

I followed all the instructions, but it doesn't seem to work. Some sites say if it happens, I have the wrong version of phlash16.exe. Some other sites say that HP Boot Disk USB Utility should be used, but I don't know how to use it.

What I really need, is a definitive step by step foolproof guide to know what to do, with links to the files/tools to use for this model of laptop. I will follow this blindly (which I don't really understand what makes each step, I just do it with no understanding,) so if anyone can help me with this, please write a guide like an idiot!

If anyone can help me with this, I appreciate it. I'm really in a difficult situation - I can't really afford to pay a Toshiba ASP to fix it, and I can't afford a new laptop certainly. But I also couldn't bring myself to tell my sister, ' it's broken, deal!

    Thanks in advance.

  • Satellite Pro A60-221 - how to reflash the BIOS?

    Hello

I was installing a new fresh OS on a Satellite Pro A60-221(PSA65E-02E03TFR), I wanted to take it seriously, so I tried to update the BIOS. I used the program given by Toshiba in a zip file: bios - 20070808110029.zip, the program is called: Osaka20V190.exe.
I run it, in the end, the computer turned off, so I reboot it. Since then the computer do 4 beeps, 1 long 1 short 1 long anda the last short I think that the shutdown of the computer itself.

So I think that I should have made a huge mistake (perhaps because that I run Osaka20V190.exe directly in the zipfile whithout put on the desktop for example, stupid, stupid, stupid...), and my question is:
Is it possible to Flash the bios to the default without having to start the computer? As in a motherboard, you can put a jumper between the two pins?

If the answer is already in this forum, I'm really sorry to bother you, I searched in the pro A60 series but could not find.

    Best regards.

    Hi hyeud,

    > maybe because that I run Osaka20V190.exe directly in the file zip whithout to put it on the desktop for example
Yes, generally all the files of zip archive must be extracted first before starting the update, but now it s too late

Such a reflash BIOS what you hear can only be initiated because on the Toshiba authorised service provider Web site, you can download a Windows based BIOS update.

To contact the closest service provider authorized in your country. Guys can you help you get rid of this problem. :)

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300-1EA - difficulties in upgrading the BIOS

    Hello

I tried to update BIOS on my new Satellite Pro A300-1EA (PSAG9E-001001EN), requested by Tempro, since version 1.50 to 1.90. The system has completely frozen during the BIOS flash, after waiting for an hour, I decided to turn the power off and pray for the best. Thank God, everything works still, but the BIOS is always v1.50, not been updated. I now read so many posts on the forum about the update of the BIOS of marbled and am now very cautious about subject to any BIOS updates at all.

My questions are: is there about this particular update and/or with the installation of InsydeFlash problems? The BIOS updates are usually all so difficult that they have better be avoided? What are alternative means for updating BIOS, hopefully less dangerous? Also, could there be potential damage to my laptop that is associated with this is BIOS flash a miscarriage I should know about?

    Thank you very much indeed!

    Monsteress

You can feel happy, my friend! :)
I m surprised that your ROM module is damaged or something. In most cases, this occurs if the computer hangs during the update.

Let me give you some advice. You should only update the BIOS if it of needed or if you have questions-problems with the laptop. You can ignore the messages of TEMPRO if your system is working properly. For example I have never updated the BIOS if my phone goes perfect never touch a running system ;)

If not, follow the advice posted by Akuma before update you the BIOS to close all running programs, disable the AntiVirus and firewall and connect the AC adapter.
On my Satellite U400, I've updated the BIOS without problems.

  • Satellite Pro S500-14Z - how to access the BIOS?

    Hello

on the Satellite Pro S500-14Z I can´t access the BIOS via F2 and can´t change the bootpriority through F12. By pressing F2 or F12 during startup, the S500 beeps and restarts. When you first start, I had access to the Bios and set the password and active supervisor module TPM. Since I have no access to the BIOS before Windows starts. Is there another key to access bios (I tried ESC, DEL, F1, INS) or how can I change the pw supervisor (I know my real password!) and disable the TPM?

    Thank you
    Karl

    Hi karlS_1,

Normally you can access the BIOS if you press F2 before Windows starts. It works with an external keyboard?

You can change some settings in the BIOS using Toshiba HWsetup. This tool is preinstalled on your laptop and you can change the order of boot with this tool.

  • Satellite Pro C850 - 1 H 8 - upgrade the BIOS CPU support

    Hi there are people.

I'm wandering if there is a possibility of upgrade of the i5 3230 m which is currently in my Satellite Pro C850 - 1 H 8.

Looking at the options available in the decision-making FCPGA988 and chipset Intel HM70 there seems to be a variety of the i7 available for use.

The laptop supports processors with a TDP plu max than 35w?
The bios supports all the CPU upgrade options?

    Cheers, Nick

In this forum, you will find various discussions on the theme of CPU upgrade.
    I found this one:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=75073

Paolo and Macius posted some information about the situation of CPU upgrade.
As you can read in another thread, the CPU upgrade isn't supported. Updates can be made at your own risk, and no one can say if CPU supported by the chipset would be supported by the BIOS.
Test it if you want, but it's at your own risk.

  • Satellite Pro A30: after disk HARD replacing the BIOS does not see DVD or HARD disk

    Hello

I bought a new Pro A30 of Satellite earlier.
Shortly after, I noticed the system sometimes
would freeze, with a rattling of the HD.
A reboot cold was the only solution.
I was told to replace the HD I did but the
problem persisted with the new HD.

I tried a known working HD and the problem still persisted.
At this point, the warranty period has increased.
Frost started happening more regularly, and
now, the BIOS does not recognize the HD player or DVD.
It starts and then try to boot from the network,
because he doesn't have a HD or DVD player.

At this point, I think I need a new system board.
Someone at - it other advice or seen this problem
    before?

    Thank you
    Ray

    Hello

What happens if you remove the CD/DVD drive or the HARD drive?
The laptop recognizes one of these devices?
Have you used the devices recommended by Toshiba?

in any case, this seems very strange and the dysfunction of the motherboard is not impossible

  • Satellite Pro L300 PSLB1E - can I use the Bios for PSLB9E update

    Hi guys

IM wondering if I can Flash my computer model toshiba laptop as in description with the following bios version

    PSLB9E Bios Version 2.20

    that is my current version

    PSLB1E Bios Version 1.50

the question is - what the hardware is the same I'm sure that

but will it work ok with this bios version?

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

The question is: why you want to update the BIOS?
    Is there something wrong?

As you know, the BIOS update is a sensitive technique.
My laptop works with old BIOS and I did not upgrade to update even if the new version has been released I didn't update because my camera is ok.

However, it seems that the two series are similar, but I think there are still some minor differences besides the BIOS update should not continues if the wrong version would be selected

  • Re: Satellite Pro L300 - how can I reset the BIOS password?

I put the password on the BIOS and electric start and I forgot the password.
How can I reset the password?

    I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300.

You must bring the laptop to an authorized service center to remove the password.

Which country are you? Check your local Toshiba Web site for a list of the ASP (service centres).

  • Re: Satellite Pro L300 - unable to get into the BIOS or boot

I have a Satellite L300, who will not get past the POST or the Toshiba start screen. It says to press F2 to enter setup or F12 for the boot sequence, but by pressing buttons does nothing and nothing happens - it just stays there. the HARD drive activity light flashes for a few seconds, then stops.

I tried the new RAM and a HARD drive different, both with the connected power and battery alone without success!

    someone at - it suggestions?

    Hi jhilton0105,

Hmm, I think that you have tried everything you can do, and in my opinion, it seems to be a hardware malfunction. Maybe it s related to the motherboard, CPU, module ROM or something else
I think that your laptop should be verified professional people to get rid of this problem.

You can find a list of aspic here:
