iCloud backup restore

I find that in iTunes 'Restore backup' is disabled.

(Under backups manually-> the backup and restore-> restore from backup).

I supported my phone regularly. And there the last IOS. And his iphone 5.

Any suggestions / recommendations.

A stupid Outlook Mac export caused all my contacts to be wiped out and it was synced with my phone leading to loss of all contacts in my iphone as well. I want to be able to at least restore my contacts one of the iCloud backups

IF you are sure that the contacts are in your iCloud backup, follow the instructions here.

Hello! IM planning to buy a new iPhone and I wonder if I could useiCloud to transfer most of my data to the new iPhone? If this is not the case, then, then, are there other solutions for this? Thank you for your help and I will choose the best answer for me later

You can set up a new phone using a backup from an existing device. When you set up the new phone and connect you to your iCloud account, it will ask you if you want to configure the phone as new, or if you want to restore from a backup. You must select the backup you want to restore from. You need a good Wifi connection for this. You can also set it using an iTunes backup.

  • iPhone 6 s - 100% carbon copy backup/restore to iTunes - is that possible?

    Hello

I am trying to find a way to save/restore an iPhone via iTunes installation so that the restoration of places any return on the phone with the same configuration (essentially, an exact clone of the original installation that is being backed up).

Questions that I met with attempts to use iTunes for backup/restore:

    • Passwords and other security information do not restore.
    • Applications not getting restored
    • WIFI networks not get restored
    • attached randomly do not restore (some, not all).

iCloud backups solve this problem (sort of).

    • It takes an internet connection takes too long and medium, and you are left without a phone can be used for a period of time, so that the restore process is complete. I'd rather do it via iTunes.
    • Passwords and other security information do not restore.

Any help please? In the end, I'm looking for a way to backup my phone to a PC and restore it so it looks identical to how it did before the backup.

For a long time (perhaps in the iPhone 4/5 days?) this process described above works, 100%. Apple changed something in recent years.

    Thank you

    Bob

The backup does not contain music or apps, because they should be in the media library iTunes on your computer, and if you synchronize right after that the restoration of the backup is then reinstalled. Normally this is done automatically when you perform a restore if you not to interrupt.

Passwords and health data are only saved if you choose encrypted backup.

There is no way to make a backup "image" of the phone, but if you use Encrypted and let run until the end, that it will restore everything the way it was.

  • A few questions about iCloud backup

-If I backup my data to iCloud from an Iphone (iMessage, SMS, calls, Whatsapp story) and then attempt to restore this backup on a new iPhone with a SIM card different, using the same iCloud account, he would restore the history of calls, SMS, history of whatsapp and iMessage?

-As to their data and applications, Facebook would require back from the password? whatsapp would require a check? or would they work as on the old phone?

-If I do not have iCloud library enabled on the old iphone (old iOS) does iCloud backup still photos and videos? Would I be able to restore those?

-Is the old iPhone touched in anyway after you restore the backup on the new or he continues to work as usual?

    Thank you.

Your messages will come if you restore back to the top. Your call history is restored according to this discussion.

backup saved icloud the recent call list?

iCloud backups are encrypted for the restoration of a backup to iCloud should require not reinstate some passwords. It depends on the application.

iCloud backup photos in the camera roll whether or not you use iCloud photo library.

The old phone depends not at all if you restore the backup from the old phone to the new.

    2 disconnect from the iCloud

    3. put the phone in airplane mode

4 make a forced reboot - after open applications using the app Chooser - invoked by fast double pressing the home button and drag upwards on each app until it disappears from the screen.

Meet the sleep/wake and home buttons down until you see the logo  - then release and allow normal start upward

  • iPad backup restore take more than two days

WWas of problems with the battery on my iPad Air life. taken at the Genius Bar at Apple Store. they reset and set up to restore a backup, what they did before. After she came back to the top, they said it would take some time to restore because I have a lot of apps, granddaughter, I went home to finish. It was two days ago. When I go in the backup, it says still iPad is restoration. Should I stop & then restore again? Are they redo the apps that have already been restored?

    Thank you, Cheryl

    Hi cgibson,.

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple.

I see that you are going through a process of restoring iCloud on your iPad, and it takes longer than expected.  The speed to iCloud restoring has a couple of factors, including the speed of your wireless network.  For more information on why this process can take some time and how to follow the process, please see below:

Restore my device from a backup to iCloud takes a long time

Restoring a backup can take time because of the size of the backup or the speed of Wi - Fi network. For example, iCloud may take about 1 to 4 hours per gigabyte during a restore process.

There are several steps that follow:

    • In iOS 8 or later, check the status of the transfer on your device under settings > iCloud > Backup. If the restore process is in progress, the backup setting is gray.
    • Make sure that your device is connected to the Internet with reliable WiFi.
    • Make sure that your device is plugged into a power outlet.
    • Check the Apple progress bar that is displayed during the transfer of a backup.

I'm trying to import and backup/restore/Choose file... / after backup correctly and I see the file, but there is no JSON extension. What can I do?

I backed up my favorites using 'import and backup/Backup' on an external HD, installed Windows 10 and went to restore my bookmarks and noticed the file named "Firefox bookmarks-2015-09-04"had no extension and does not work."

Please advise! Thank you! Sincerely, s

If you add the .json extension, it works then? Why people who design browsers or extensions them do create files with no extension name, in spite that these extension names are essential to make the files can be restored? I could never understand that.

  • iCloud backup confusion

What does say when the iCloud backup instructions said to "lock" the screen?

that is: plug your phone / connect to the WiFi / lock screen

Is this all just press the button on top (5 / 5s) or side (6 / 6s) until the screen goes black OR completely disable the phone?

    Thanks in advance

Press the button as you mentioned here. This is the good method.

  • backup/restore problems

So, recently, my iPhone 6 had a lot of questions (most applications would be closed from the opening, I couldn't update apps, all the texts and iMessages disappeared, Messages turns uses a lot of storage despite the removal of all, etc.) and a person on one of these forums recommended to back up the phone, restore factory settings and then restore the backup to the phone. I got no problem with that, until I tried to restore the iTunes backup. When I try to do, I get the following message: "iTunes can't restore iPhone «...»» "because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone, which is being restored. "I read that to solve this problem, I just need to delete the backup but the problem is that it's the only backup I had to restore my phone. Is there a way to recover this backup or is my only option again?

    Thank you in advance.

It seems that the backup could have caused all the problems you had. Backup, restore factory settings and then restore the backup are a standard troubleshooting step, but if the backup is corrupt, you can not use and you can not get corrupted.

You can restart all and try again, but I think that the results will be the same. You need to restore as new.

I just got an iPhone 6 and when I plugged in my laptop, he asked if I wanted to restore my new phone. I said yes! But unfortunately chose the wrong backup restore with. Is there a way I can go back to how my phone was before?

Yes, you can as long as you understand that you will lose everything that is currently on the phone.

    (1) settings > General > reset > erase content and settings

That will make the iPhone as new.  Then, during the installation process it again once will ask you if you want to restore from an existing backup.  You can then restore the scheduled backup.
