What should I do?

    Hello MoBro,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

If I understand your message that takes longer than expected to restore your backup to iCloud.  The restore process can take some time and depends on the amount of data is being restored, as well as speed and using the connection of the network Wi - Fi iPad.  For more information, please see the information below:

Restore my device from a backup to iCloud takes a long time

Restoring a backup can take time because of the size of the backup or the speed of Wi - Fi network. For example, iCloud may take about 1 to 4 hours per gigabyte during a restore process.

There are several steps that follow:

    • In iOS 8 or later, check the status of the transfer on your device under settings > iCloud > Backup. If the restore process is in progress, the backup setting is gray.
    • Make sure that your device is connected to the Internet with reliable WiFi.
    • Make sure that your device is plugged into a power outlet.
    • Check the Apple progress bar that is displayed during the transfer of a backup.

  • Numbers works "in full transparency between the Mac and iOS devices' in order to pass ads. HOWEVER, the data is not saved when my computer is saved, NOR does iCloud save it. iCloud lost my data is GONE!

As a user of 30 years of Apple, I love the products and use my iPhone, iPad 2 and a Mac Mini with full transparency, as advertised until all my files of numbers, lacked a day. That's when I discovered that since they are on cloud backup system is not save, and it seems that Apple only reinforced their cloud either. So 'transparent' really means that you continually save them on your computer so that they will be backed up. Isn't it PERFECTLY! Any ideas on how I can find my missing files? I waited on the engineers of apples for well over a month now...

I would be grateful all the ideas,

    Paul

I do not know "seamless" means you don't have to give any thought whatsoever to the configuration of your backup system intelligently.

    What backup system you use?

And when you say "on the cloud" what cloud say you?

I keep my numbers documents in iCloud and use Time Machine to back up my Mac (including local copies of documents stored in iCloud).  It works well here.

  • icloud save attachments in Messages app?

Hi, I need to restore my phone and want to keep the messages on my phone. I decided to go with a backup to iCloud and prefer not to use iTunes or any 3rd party program. I am currently using an iPhone on iOS 8.4 6.

Apple says that iCloud is able to backup:

iMessage, text (SMS) messages MMS (requires the SIM that was used during backup) (https://support.apple.com/kb/ph12519?locale=en_US)

Attachments (pictures, videos, voicemails, etc.) come from different conversations (person 1 person 2 person 3) included and it will be restored to each individual conversation (person 1 person 2 person 3)?

    Thanks for any help.

MMS = message photos or videos... so yes, it is part of the backup...

I haven't lost a photo to a message from my iPhone 3 g from my now 6 s iPhone using iTunes backup... would be the same for the icloud backup too.

  • Single Message thread backup icloud?

    Hello

I was wondering if there is a way to select a single message to iCloud save thread. The reason: my brother has a 1 year old child and sends a thread of family group about 10 pictures per day, sometimes with a video. This sometimes others form picture answers. My iPhone 16GB 5 fills up quickly. The photos are cute, etc and I don't necessarily want their past (where the issue of backup), I just want to be able to take a picture of mine when I want without memory formidable opinion.

To clarify, I don't want to back up all my posts on iCloud, and I don't want to limit the allocation of memory for messages (it would quickly reach quota). I want to be able to synchronize the thread of interest, then delete it. Is this possible?  I have an extra space on iCloud, which would easily handle this.

This is not possible, I'm afraid. Indeed, if you delete something in your phone it don't stay in your back forever, the rear 3 last ups are stored in the cloud.

  • If I have iTunes game my music will take even up to 10 GB of my iCloud space?

If I subscribe to Match iTunes my music will take still a part of my iCloud save the "cloud"? Music and photos do not count when iCloud is out, but after that work is suddenly wasn't. So now I have 20 GB backup and its almost full. I wish I had iTunes game, but it wouldn't make much sense if he did not save me some space on my iCloud drive! I don't have even a third of my music imported in my iTunes library or on my iPhone, because I have no room for it. I have a very large library. If I get the iTunes game I would have access to all my music, or at least most, but if it is still used my iCloud backup space then it would be foolish to pay for iTunes game, then have to pay more for even more storage on the cloud! I hope this feeling!

The music is not part of your back upward.

If you do not use iTunes game it will not use your iCloud storage space either.

  • Trying to restore my calendar of office and then stop using iCloud

Is there a way to restore my contacts and calendar to desktop from iCloud, save them, and then disconnect from the iCloud without losing my data?

I was never able to synchronize to iCloud without problems, multiple contacts, desktop calendar lock trying to sync, etc.  I restored my iPhone and cleaned the contacts with iMazing duplicate (which have yet to duplicate groups) so I have something to use on my phone at the moment. I am disconnected from iCloud on devices and the system prefs. until I have find this.

While cumbersome, and a one-way path, sync via iTunes was reliable. I used only iCloud to locate my phone. As I could not to iCloud master, I want to go back to the manual synchronization.

I'm in trouble with this one. My timing is critical. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi sdb2013,

I understand that you no longer want to use iCloud for keep your data synchronized between your devices.  I'll include information here for troubleshooting iCloud, just in case you change your mind.  The first thing I would say is to make sure that your MacBook Pro is backed up via Time Machine and your iPhone is saved via iCloud or iTunes.   Then, take a look at the resources below that shows the steps to follow to back up all data you have in iCloud.   If you disable the iCloud as calendar features on your iMac, you will be asked if you want to keep the data on your computer.  It would be a starting point.

iCloud: change the settings of the features in iCloud

You can change the iCloud features you use on any of your devices by turning functions on or off. You can also disable iCloud completely.

When you disable a function iCloud on a device, information stored only in iCloud for this feature are no longer available on the device. If you turn off your Mail, Contacts, calendars, Notes, reminders, iCloud photo library or iCloud Drive on a single device, you can always review and change your information at iCloud.com and on another device you have set up for this feature.

In some cases when disable you a feature in iCloud on a device, you can choose to keep a copy of the feature on this device information. The copied information is not synchronized with iCloud. If you disable mail, Contacts, calendars and tasks in iCloud for Windows on a computer Windows, information stored in iCloud remain available in Microsoft Outlook, but it is not updated with your other devices.

Before you disable a specific feature on all your devices, or before shutting iCloud completely, you can archive a copy of your iCloud computer data. For more information, see the Apple Support article Archive or make copies of your iCloud data.

Turn on or off features iCloud

Depending on the settings of the device you want to change, do one or more of the following:

On your iOS device: go to settings > iCloud, then type to enable or disable features iCloud.

On your Mac: choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, click on iCloud, and then select or deselect each feature.

Some features are not available or are listed differently in older versions of OS X.

On your Windows computer: Open iCloud for Windows, and then select or deselect each feature. To have your changes take effect, click on apply.

    • Some features are not available on your Windows computer or are listed differently, depending on whether your computer has Microsoft Outlook 2016 or earlier installed.

Installed Outlook: use iCloud Mail, Contacts, calendars and tasks in Outlook. Note that iCloud callbacks are called tasks in Outlook. If you turn off your Mail, Contacts, calendars and tasks, iCloud information remain available in Microsoft Outlook, but it is not synchronized with iCloud.

Not installed Outlook: use iCloud Mail, Contacts, calendars and reminders in your web browser on iCloud.com.

    • If you select bookmarks and your computer a Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox installed, you can click Options to select Windows which bookmarks you want to keep up-to-date with bookmarks in Safari on your iOS devices and browsers Mac computers, set up for iCloud Safari. For more information about browsers supported by iCloud for Windows, see the Apple Support article system requirements for iCloud.

Depending on whether you want to stop using iCloud on all or only certain devices, do one or more of the following:

On your iOS device: go to settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Sign Out (remove the account IOS 7 and earlier).

Note: If you disconnect from the iCloud (or delete your iCloud account), iCloud is no longer the backup data of iOS. You can always save your device in iTunes. For more information, open iTunes, then choose iTunes > help.

  • Replacement of text disappeared after upgrade ios 10.0.1

I have an ipad 9.7 pro and an iphone 5s

I've updated the IOS 10 software and the iPad don't would not recognize the charge lead, the apple store has replaced the ipad. After receiving the new ipad, I went to restore from my latest icloud save.

Since the update iOS 10.0.1 two devices I've lost replacing text on both devices.

all my shortcuts for work disappeared.

I tried to disconnect to icloud and re-start of the ipad so far no change.

    I don't have a mac computer.

    Hi rluschtinetz,

If I understand your message that after upgrade to iOS 10.0.1 on your 5s iPhone and iPad 9.7 Pro, you're missing the replacement of text on both devices. With the help of text replacements are very practical and I will be happy to provide information on this.

Restore from a backup of iCloud can take a long time depending on the amount of data included in the backup, you can check if the restore process completed by going to settings > iCloud > storage. Also, I want to make sure that you are connected to iCloud on both devices. Then check if you can see your replacements of text on one of your devices. If you have a recent backup of iTunes for one of the devices, you can also do a restore of the unit in question as well.

    Nice day.

  • IPhone 6 messages disappeared?

Hello forum, I'm having a problem with my Iphone and would appreciate any help from you guys. Today, I used my phone when all of a sudden my screen has turned white and I couldn't do anything. I rebooted my phone to find that all my apps and contacts were still there, but all my deleted texts. I did not understand why, because under my settings my messages save as the option, "forever." I've had these personal texts for more than a year already, and I would return. I don't understand why they are not appearing on my phone, when I know they are still recorded on my phone, because when I go into settings-> general-> storage & use icloud-> manage storage, I see the 'messages' to take 4.8 GB on my phone. If its recorded on my phone, how is that they are not appearing on my text app? Thanks for reading and for helping me!

Note: I do not have a backup itunes or icloud save my texts, but I just created an itunes backup after this happened just in case that something goes wrong on my phone.

    Thanks again for the help!

This seems huge to me!  My 'Messages' address such a small amount of space (< 10,000 bytes) that they don't even appear at all in settings > general > storage & use iCloud > storage management.

So, the question becomes how much free space you have.  Check that the settings > general > storage & use iCloud > storage management.  Be absolutely certain that you not less than 10% of the total free storage of your device.  I predict that you don't have, and that's why you lose things.

  • First Start Up of the iPad Pro

You just bought a new iPad Pro and when asked if I wanted to open with a copy of another iPad I choose this option. However I was not allowed to use this option but had to open as a new iPad as my new iPad Pro comes with iOS 9.1 and the iPad, I wanted to copy using iOS 9.3.2.

For future reference is there anyway to update an iPad/iPhone new to the current operating system before trying to download all the info of an existing iPad/iPhone or do I have to, as in this case, start from scratch?

    Hello

You must configure pro as as a new ipad ipad and then download the software update ios 9.3.2

Restore iPad to factory settings and then set up again this time using iCloud save when it asks you.

    This also works on iPhone.

  • My iPhone wifi disconnects itself

When I go to bed I put my phone on my bedside table, wifi is connected. In the morning when I stop my alarm (on my iphone) it indicates 4g on the bar at the top instead of wifi. Then when I unlock my phone n goes into setting. WiFi reconnects

This is the expected normal behavior

WiFi disconnects when the phone goes to sleep to save battery

She remains connected if the phone is connected and supported and that's the way nocturnal iCloud save work

WiFi connects to a network known to wake up - it may take a few seconds to authenticate

  • permission of iTunes problem

    Hi guys,.

For the 2 + last month, I've been trying to find a solution with Apple on the phone at the genius bars, then turn on the phone recently with the United States... but not getting anywhere, so, in the words of Leia "Obi Wan, you're my only hope!"

I have a MacBook pro, no problems in backing up my iPhone 6 until some time ago (and the best I can understand it was after iTunes 12) that I could not saved the iPhone because of not "having permission".  I implemented with this for awhile, and then he started to get boring, regarding the months now, I have not back to my phone, the situation has become so critical that I even thought to install iTunes on my work PC... but why do I do this?  A Councillor I got from apple is that it can relate to a full "locked" after a remote scan/report .plist file from my system.

To this day, I reinstalled iTunes OSX and even tried iMazing (which gives me a similar warning) it is interesting I can plug my iPad in my mac book and iTunes it identifies as soon as possible.  There is nothing wrong with the phone that when I was with the three genius recently they plugged on one of their own mac books and once again no problem.  Is it possible that I can use time machine to selectively download all my 'must haves' after wiped my mac book, then by installing a fresh OSX, then systematically load from my backup all the BUT the piece incriminated the whimsical script which is at the origin of the permissions issues?

Any assistance is welcome, "may the force be with you."

    Kind regards

    Paul.

  • storage of complete Mac

My macbook pro is full. My iCloud save as it is said that your Mac of storage is full. How can I fix it? I don't want to optimize the images I'm afraid that I won't get the photos full resolution back.

What is the best way to solve this problem? I really want to keep all my photos if possible, or is there a way to archive them?

How much space you currently have on your MBP?  If you let it do too low the MBP will freeze and not be able to start.  It is strongly recommended that one maintain a minimum of 109-15 GB of free space to facilitate application and optimal system performance.

Get an external hard drive, format the OS X Extended (journaled), whose property value is ignored

and copy these files that are rarely used or are in need of it.  You can either get a kind of 'office' self powered hard drive or a bus powered DHM like these: OWC Mercury On-The-Go Pro FireWire 800 + USB 3.0/2.0 USB 3.0/2.0.

One possibility would be to put your photo on the EHD library and have a second, smaller trip on your MBP library.  Photos can be copied between libraries and their metadata (keywords, titles, descriptions, faces, places) with the paid version of PowerPhotos.

But what you do not clear a minimum of 10 GB of space free as soon as POSSIBLE!
