storage of complete Mac

My macbook pro is full. My iCloud save as it is said that your Mac of storage is full. How can I fix it? I don't want to optimize the images I'm afraid that I won't get the photos full resolution back.

What is the best way to solve this problem? I really want to keep all my photos if possible, or is there a way to archive them?

How much space you currently have on your MBP?  If you let it do too low the MBP will freeze and not be able to start.  It is strongly recommended that one maintain a minimum of 109-15 GB of free space to facilitate application and optimal system performance.

Get an external hard drive, format the OS X Extended (journaled), whose property value is ignored

and copy these files that are rarely used or are in need of it.  You can either get a kind of 'office' self powered hard drive or a bus powered DHM like these: OWC Mercury On-The-Go Pro FireWire 800 + USB 3.0/2.0 USB 3.0/2.0.

One possibility would be to put your photo on the EHD library and have a second, smaller trip on your MBP library.  Photos can be copied between libraries and their metadata (keywords, titles, descriptions, faces, places) with the paid version of PowerPhotos.

But what you do not clear a minimum of 10 GB of space free as soon as POSSIBLE!

Your Mac storage is full. "I understand that stay that copies low resolution of my pictures on my mac, but I don't know why he can't continue to upload photos high resolution to my iCloud library when converting to other files on my mac for the versions low resolution. About 400 pictures sync before I got this message. I have still 46GB of available storage iCloud. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

Your Mac can not work and convert photos in versions optimized, so only 2.3 GB free on the system drive. The conversion must also storage.

Try to release at least 10 GB by moving temporarily files on an external drive - video, audio, or similar.

Already you empty all the cops or the album recently removed from your photo library?

  • RAID is no longer present in the storage "about this mac".

After upgrading to Sierra my SoftRAID(4) drive does not appear in the about this mac storage section. I asked soft raid and their answer is that it's an apple problem

If you haven't already done so, disconnect the SoftRAID(4) drive and stop your Mac. While the Mac is turned off, connect the player SoftRAID(4). Then restart your Mac. See if it appears in disk utility.

is it possible to save space on my iMac with iCloud drive? For example, if I wanted to save all my pictures on iCloud drive but do not waste space on my mac hard drive, is this possible? • Which applications are safe to remove in the 'Other' storage on my Mac?

    Hello:

Hope you guys can help me. I'm almost out of disk space (120.5 13.8). The category 'Other' seems to take a lot of my storage. Here's what I have in storage 'other '. Please tell me if I can remove the following text:

    Adobeflashplayer_19_a install.dmg (30/09/15)

    Adobeflashplayer_17_a install.dmg (14/04/15) (3 of them, the same day)

Adobeflashplayer_16_Hrosxd_aaa-IAH (1) .dmg (16/01/15) (2 of them, the same day)

epson16661.dmg (08/10/14) (I didn't own a Mac until last year, so where is the 2014 thing comes in?)

    epson15207 - 2.dmg (26/09/14) (3 of them the same day)

    JRE-Bu31-macosx - x 64 .dmg (11/02/15)

Is it possible for me to remove installers? How can I free up my disk space? I moved pretty much everything except 2 docs to my documents and really cleaned up the thing. She went 4.2 high at 14 and change, but still it is not enough. What can I do else?

    Thank you

    Rachael

Yes, you can delete the installation programs, unless you think you might need them. Also, take a look at Omni DiskSweeper. Omni DiskSweeper can show you the exact size and location of all your files. It will be the inventory of your disc from files that occupy more space. It can also give you a fairer read disk space than the Finder or storage tab of the about this Mac. If you want you can even delete files from OmniDisk Sweeper.

  • Graph of storage (about this Mac > storage) seems wrong. Problem?

I have a macbook pro running El Capitan. When I open "about this Mac" and go to the tab "Storage", here is what I see

Note that the disc is a 500 GB drive. There are approximately 375 GB of free space. «But as you can see, on this Mac > ' storage ' suggests that about 423 GB are being picked up by 'Apps'.» The idea that there are about 375 GB of free is supported by 'get info' on the disc:

But clearly, you can't 375 free concerts and 423 gig picked up by what anyone on a 500 GB drive.

I remember (but don't have images) the amount taken up by 'Apps' wasn't this big one last week, even if it was even bigger that what could have been possible.

I ran disk utility > a few times and at least once in single-user mode, as well as when executing a backup bootable flash drive.

What happens here? Is this a serious question?

  • If I delete files that have already been uploaded on my Time Capsule for more storage in my Mac, will I still be able to have access to them, while I am connected with the TC?

I'm in desperate need of storage so I need to know before you start deleting all the files.

You copied the files on the TC directly... you don't mean in TM backups?

What files are you talking about because some applications are NOT supposed to work network... for example APA iphoto and photo storage.

You must also remember to backup... TM can back up files to a TC.

You may end up losing your files, so be very careful... It is better to use a fast USB... plugged into your computer and then add it to your TM backups.

  • Why my storage says complete when its not full

My storage space seem to have stuck at 100% = 20 GB, even if I have deleted files. What to do?

You will probably need to permanently delete files because they are held in an archive when you remove them.

The easiest way is to use the CC app on your computer by going to the section files and selecting the option archive view, your web browser should open showing the files.

Remove them by using the options on the page.

    Good luck

  • Can I remove the library from my Mac after the photos are uploaded to iCloud to free up storage space?

My Mac Book Pro storage is almost full, and I would like to transfer my photos to iCloud and remove them from my Mac. How can I do this? And how to display in iCloud?

With iCloud library enabled, you cannot delete a photo on a device (or iCloud.com) without deleting each device which uses iCloud photo library (iCloud.com). In order to save space on your mobile devices (and indeed your Mac if you want to) turn on the optimization of the pictures on these devices (settings > photos & camera > optimize storage on your mobile device and Photo preferences > optimize storage on your Mac)

Dynamic optimization, it reduces the resolution of your photos, if necessary, so that you don't notice it occurring initially. However, when necessary, it is very effective, and users have reported libraries being optimized for much less than 10% of their original size in some cases. My own library is about 9% of its original on my phone size.

Storage icloud and Mac local storage are two different things, it does not replace the other.

  • By selecting "Optimizing Mac storage" on the Photos

If I choose optimize Mac storage on my Mac, should not all the photo files physically stored on my Mac I have sufficient storage space on the hard drive of my Mac?

The photo library is saved in your internal storage on the default Mac, the default location is the folder under your user name. However, if you have a large library, it is a simple to move the library to an external hard drive. It's a simple copy and paste process. The advantage of doing that is keeps storage in memory space internal. What takes the most space on most of the computers are photos, music and movies.
