  Is there a way to backup disks external hard on iCloud without iCloud with disk space hard internal iMac?

  I tried an external hard drive to backup to iCloud and although it does not copy in iCloud. It also eliminates the same amount of available space on the hard drive of my iMac.

  It's a little tricky to deal with.  The disc "HP_Recovery" is supposed to be a hidden partition that contains all the files required to restore your computer to its "fresh coming from the factory" State.  Normally, you should not access this drive or remove any of its files.

  As a general rule, the restore partition is put in place to have just enough space to hold the files to restore, so add only a little more will trigger the warning.

  You will find several places on the Internet that describe how to disable the warning (for example http://www.jvfconsulting.com/blog/89/How_To_Fix_You_Are_Running_Out_Of_Disk_Space_On_HPRECOVERY.html), but it's a bit like taking the batteries in your smoke detector, because you do not like the tone.

The biggest space hogs are "C:\WINDOWS" and "C:\Documents and Settings\Allen\Local Settings" (Allen in me), both with 8 MB.  I install most apps on another partition of 200 GB.  My data are also on another partition (250 GB).  I'm surprised that the C: partition got so full.

  When I installed first the o/s, I moved "My Documents" to the 'data' partition, using the built-in functionality of XP (I forgot how, now). I can do the same thing with "C:\Documents and Settings"?

  If this is not possible, can I extend the existing partition without having to reinstall the operating system?

  PS average experience so feel not too technical.

  A loss of main surface within each user profile would be penchant of EI for the storage of copies (or much) of almost every web page you have already visited.  Try to reduce the amount of temporary Internet files put in cache, which is huge by default.  I always bring it back to a maximum of 50 MB.  In Internet Explorer, click on tools > Internet Options > general, temporary files > settings.

  Same principle for the Java cache. Start > Control Panel > Java > temporary Internet files > settings.

  The System Volume Information is the folder in restoration of which WinXP system feature stores information to retrieve errors.  By default, Windows XP sets aside a maximum of 12% of the size of the partition to store the information of the System Volume, but the amount of space reserved for this purpose can be adjusted by the user.  Start > all programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > System Restore Settings, select the relevant partition and click settings.  If you don't want to use the system at all, restore simply to turn off System Restore (start > all programs > Accessories > system tools > system, System Restore settings restore) and restart.  This will remove all your Restore Points, thus freeing up hard disk space.

  An another great space waster may be trash.  By default, it takes up to 10% of the capacity of your hard drive. It's a lot of waste.  It can be set to a lower limit by right clicking the desktop Receycle Bin icon, select Properties, and using the scroll bar to reduce the maximum size to something more reasonable - 1% to 2% should be more than enough space.

  From the beginning of this week, I get a pop-up message stating "To free up disk space, Outlook Express can compact messages".  This happens when that I start.  The fact is; I do not use Outlook Express or have installed.   I am also having the same problem.  I am running Vista Home Premium SP2.  I was getting close to complete on my drive C (13% free space). I was shocked to see how quickly it filled up, almost as if he did it by himself.  I was downloading a lot so I had no idea how it happened.  I ran each program cleaning and each antivirus that I had to try to make room.  I cleaned up program files deleted a bunch of audio and video files, and it does not seem to do much more of a difference.  I shut down the computer for the night and is returned to him the next morning.  I ran and bought a few flash drives to transfer files more and when I booted up I checked the hard drive and it was back to 48% free space (as it was before).  I have no idea what happened, but so far, it seems to be fixed...?   one of the cleansers I ran also ccleaner.

  In Windows Explorer, blue file names means Tablet (it is the file system compression not aka zip files compressed files). Green filename means Encrypted.

  To disable file names colored, in Explorer - Tools menu (Alt + T)- display tab and then clear the check box for Show encrypted or compressed NTFS in color .

  Windows compression, encryption and security to work for the most part by applying attributes to a folder and the files in the folder inherit the folder.
