- You have security software installed on the computer?
- Do you have any ID Vault software installed on the computer?
It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.
I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

Reset the computer to start as usual

- Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
- Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
- To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
- Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

I have a Toshiba Satellite U400 and I installed Win XP too.
I have a user account administrator and Toshiba Power Saver works properly!
No problem don't like on your system!However, in the Toshiba Power Saver Settings (installation options), you can find the option called limited allows the user to change the settings and allow different actions for each profile.
Check that both are enabled!
If this doesn't help then reinstalling again this tool.

My name is George Sebros and I have a Toshiba Satellite A300.
The reason why I post this new topic, it is that I need a little help from someone who knows something about my above problem:
One day, about 2 months ago... I turn on my Satellite A300.
When he connected, not only none of my icons appeared but also the start menu does not...
The only thing that appeared in a screen totally BLACK, has been my folder "Documents and Settings" which opened automatically.
There was no way I could find neither the start menu (I mean the taskbar), or my icons...
So, whenever I close the Documents and Settings folder that had appeared, the only thing I could see was a black screen...
It was a kind of shock to me and I couldn't believe my eyes...After a few days, I tried the well-known combination "Ctrl + Alt + Delete" to see what was working and what was not.
Then I pressed the 'FILE', then 'NEW TASK' and finally, I typed the word 'explorer' in there.
That's all! Suddenly, all turn to normal like the day before the problem started. I was happy with it, I could use my Satellite A300 again!
However, it is an indirect way to do my work PC!
This means that I'm still fain to use this indirect way to make the icons and the taskbar appears.
This means that the 'explorer.exe' does not work?
Many programs registry I use notify me on some HKY... files that contain DATA NON. I have to let you know that the explorer.exe is located in the (empty) folders.
It indicates that transplant programs that I use, point out the problem I have?
Can someone help me?I don't want to use the safe option of FORMATTING (also known as the FORMAT).

Setup.exe does not properly
I'm trying to upgrade to Windows 7, and at one point in the configuration of several programs are listed to be uninstalled, when it gets to the Realtek USB 2.0 card reader a pop window that says setup.exe does not properly. Currently, I switched from windows Xp(sp 3) to Windows 7 (32 bit). Now, I did more recent SalesProject.exe by using Visual Basic 6.0 in Windows 7, its fine on Win work 7systems. But even SalesProject.exe does not work when I run it on Windows Xp systems. It returns error on Win Xp ' class is not compatible Automation).

Errm. Is there is no entry in the msconfig Startup tab then there is no complete command to try and see!
If this only happens at startup, it may be in via a mechanism not covered by msconfig. "Autoruns" should be. You can download Autoruns here

On my laptop Dell Studio 1555 with 32-bit Windows Vista Premium (with SP2), as soon as I connect, I get an error "the application BTTray.exe does not able to initialize correctly. Click OK to terminate the application". Then another pop-up window appears the error information. After awhile, it prompts you to close the program. This happened since I updated the Bluetooth Widcom software from the DELL Web site. I tried to uninstall the software and put it back in place for the DVD that comes with the laptop. But that did not help.
Yesterday, when I tried to connect to the remote Citrix server, so I was able to work remotely, I got the same error for the software Citrix, "the application failed to initialize properly wfcrun32.exe. Click OK to complete the program." Then another pop-up window appears the error information. After awhile, it prompts you to close the program.
My colleague, who also has a laptop with Vista home is able to connect to Citrix without any error. He said he did a lot of configuration changes in the security features in vista.
Is could someone please help me get rid of these annoying errors?I came across a similar story, while answering a different question, earlier today. Whatever it is, if your computer meets the minimum system requirements and that you have trouble to install, you can download the MS file in a folder on your computer, right click and select run as administrator.
Make sure that you uninstall the older versions from your computer. Also... If you have the version of the HP software on your computer, you open the HP Recovery Manager and go to the reinstallation of software to install.
