IdeaPad y510p Wireless Card compatibility

I just got a new router with 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz, and to my dismay, I saw that my laptop does not pick up the broadband 5 GHz. is it possible that I can get a new wireless card or change my existing to pick up services to wide band 5 GHz?

I don't mind if it voids my warranty.

You must use a wifi card dual channel. Referring to page 87 of the Hardware Maintenance Manual it is possible (highlighted in the attached photo). These three are in the Y410P only then they may not work for the Y510P (this can be a restriction imposed by Lenovo in the Bios - whitelist).

To lift the restriction referred to white list of your bios should be changed. There are sites that offer to do it for you. However, note that you yourself if use you this unit in brick.

  • Satellite L650 - 1 M 0: could not activate the new wireless card

    Hello

The only problem with the new adapter is unable to activate or disable the network modules.
Since my laptop does not support default BT will automatically turn off the controller module.

WiFi must be turned off and as in the previous card - a function key. Unfortunately, wireless in the function bar option has disappeared, and the FN + F8 key combination does nothing. Responsible for the light WiFi is on all the time.

It is possible to activate the WiFi module as before?

    > Is it possible to activate the WiFi module as before?

You have replaced the WLan module, which means that the hardware configuration has been changed. This means that the different module has affected the functionality of the software.

The new WLan/BT BCM94313HMGB combo card seems to be designed by Broadcom.
Of my knowledge that supports most of the laptops Toshiba Intel / modules Realtek or Atheros. This is why I think there may be a compatibility problem between the FN key software and this module.

Maybe you can try to install the Broadcom driver once more to check if this can help, if not you will have to renounce that.

So since Christmas is coming, I thought it would be cool to upgrade my 8 GB RAm 16 GB my question is: what type of card Gerard, I need my lenovo ideapad y510p? and what I have to change my old memory card aswell if im buying a new?

Also is it easy to change the RAM cards?

The worst thing that can happen is that memory does not work with full 1866MTs, but it will certainly work.

  • Not found [Y510p] wireless adapter

    Hello

I use ideapad y510p. My wifi worked perfectly last night. However today in the morning I couldn't find wifi networks. After some research, I discovered that there is not this wifi adapter in NICs and has no wifi adapter in Device Manager. However, bluetooth works great. I tried to reinstall the drivers (clean install even of everything that may have something with networking). But I still don't see any wifi adapter. Local network connection works fine. I don't think that this should be the hardware problem because AFAIK adapters bluetooth and Wi - Fi are both located on Intel Centrino N2230. So I think that if my wifi adapter would be broken that bluetooth would not overwork. I also tried to use the system restore point to last week (when everything worked perfectly) but it didn't work.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem? I really didn't wana post a service ticket because I need my NTB and they would return it me after about 3 weeks, which is unacceptable to me.

EDIT: I also downloaded the latest drivers from the site intel and when I run the tests with their software WiFi utility (or whatever it's called) it says that there is no present wifi adapter so it fails the same test equipment.

Thanks in advance for your help

Check the bios. To ensure that wireless is enabled.

  • HP ENVY m6 (m6-1205dx: wireless card update)

OK, I bought a wireless card on ebay attesting sound of an HP laptop. I'm a total noob to this, but I catch on fast.

Someone I know said make sure that it is supported by your laptop. I listened to and didn't at the same time.

I received the card. I installed it. Computer picked it up and worked for about 15 Min on it. Great WiFi full speed provided by my internet and bluetooth worked so just to my bluetooth Wireless speakers.

After that 15 min laptop kept getting bsod every 5 minutes or more. The BSOD a message saying PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

kept apearing each to each accident of bsod.

Once this game me SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (bcmwl63a.sys)

I removed the new card and put in the original. Stopped crashing.

I would like someone to pronounce on compatibility with the cards to my laptop.

The purchased card is a Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn 2 x 2 Wi - Fi adapter and my laptop repair manual does not show the cards of 2 x 2 used in any of the similar laptop computer models including mine.

I just went to this it is because it is $ 10.00 and it would add much functionality search bluetooth for my laptop.

I think I have as much detail as I could on that.

    Hello:

If the card was not supported in your machine, the BIOS would have dismissed, and the PC would not allowed to even start until the card has been removed.

Before you remove the original wireless card, did you uninstall the wireless card and its drivers in Device Manager and then shut down the PC and install your new wireless card?  If this isn't the case, you should.

Have you installed the W10 drivers for this model of card?

  • IdeaPad Y530 wireless wifi is turned off then on battery

I have a new Ideapad Y530 Intel 5100 wifi wireless network card. It works fine when I am connected to an electrical outlet, but when I am on battery it loses connection Wireless after about half an hour of use. When I check the network card, it shows that it is disabled. I'm trying to enable him, but she remains disabled, I can't operate unless I restart the computer. I've done so far that has not fixed it problem:

    1. I checked the power management settings in the device for the network card Manager and you have unchecked the box "allow the computer to turn off the device to save power".

    2. I already uninstalled Readycomm since I had problems with it before

    3. I also affect roaming aggressiveness 1.

Can someone direct me on how to keep network to get wireless card disabled when I am on battery?

In addition, once I lose the connection Wireless because the network card is disabled, Windows Vista network settings are really slow to come for me to check my network connection and settings, never had this problem with XP. System seems to hang for several minutes before I can get into the network and sharing Center.

    Thank you.

I think I've figured this out. I disabled and then uninstalled the power management Lenovo that at first seem to solve the problem but didn't. I knew that it was something to do with power management, so I checked my settings and it was set to energy saving. When I changed to balanced remained turned on the wireless network adapter and I have not lost my network connection. I checked power options advanced for the adapter in symmetric mode and energy-saving wireless and found that Power Saver if it had set for the Maximum energy savings while only balanced if it had set for maximum Performance. The setting for maximum energy savings, it is this that kept disable the wireless card with after several minutes, I changed it to the following configuration, low energy and my without thread remains active and I don't lose my network connection. So for anyone else having problems with the loss of their wireless connection, try to check your power management settings.

  • Raplecement wireless card

    Hi, guys and Gil.

I have a question about replacing the card wireless for my HP ProBook 450 (F7Y25ES). now, this laptop is "equipped with" MediaTek/Ralink MT7630E combo and he abandoned wireless connection every 5-10 minutes. I want to raplace that piece of crap with intel centrino card.

Here I found the information that I can use Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 670292-001 http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware/HP-ProBook-450-G0-wireless-adapter-spare-brands/td-p/...

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/Intel-network-6235AN-HMWWB-Wireless-WiFi-Centrino-advanced-N-6235-dual-band-...

    Thank you.

The eBay seller it says here, if you are not too picky about grammar:

    Compatible with:

    • Fit all brand, not incl. HP/Lenovo laptops

Need a covered card "HP". This card will work and you will have wifi and bluetooth, dual band, 2.4 ghz and 5.0 ghz.

It's a bit expensive but a very strong card.

The manual says supports the N-6235 advanced, he gives no room for a compatible part number.

It is not listed in the manual of 450 Probook, but I bet it will work since it's a HP card (and quite a bit cheaper than the 7260):

I know the image seems as well as that you have linked above, but I would be sure that the tying in your post is for the version not HP.

  • Need help finding the right wireless card

    Hello

I'm trying to find out what wireless network card should I buy for my laptop computer backup HP Pavilion dv4000 (dv4253EA) can someone help with this?

    Hello:

Your model came with the wireless network card.

Is there a place to install a wireless card?

Are there already the antennas in the compartment?

If this isn't the case, you will need to purchase an external wireless adapter.

Please see the service manual in Chapter 5 for the location where the wireless card is going.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c00553278.PDF

There is also a list of the supported WLAN cards with HP numbers.

None of them are available for sale to HP, then your best bet is to buy used on eBay.

Questioned by the HP part only number.

Only one of the listed cards will work and they also have the HP piece on them or they will not work.
