I looked for support from Microsoft, the data base but cannot find a solution by stages to this problem - that's what I'm after, not a formidable link. In addition, if you want a list of the codes of error unfortunately can't do it you because I do not know where these on my computer. I hope that there is someone with a solution to this problem?

    Greetings,

I am trying to install the SP2 update. For a long time, I had not to install updates, many of them still kep default without obvious reason. However, I ran Vista update readiness tool and has been able to install updates at least 23 were stuck because of the fault of those previously and the latest update is Windows Update says I need Service Pack 2 (SP2). I downloaded the standalone form my version of Vista Home Premium x 86 version and tried to install it and it will appear as follows:
Then, he breaks down and gives me the following screen:
The error code given is 0x800f0823 of the failure of the installation of SP2.

The %SYSTEMDIR%/WindowsUpdate.log gives this as the error message:

Anyway, I saw this error message and in a post, he suggested that I run the following command in the terminal:
    sfc/scannow
And he said that there was some corrupted files and I need to restart.
Here is a link to the CBS after the first sfc scan: http://www2.ryankaskel.com/misc/logs/CBS1.log
I ran the scan again, and here's the reuslt:

Start of the phase of verification of the scanning system.
    Full check of 100%.
Windows resource protection did not find any breach of integrity.
I retry the stand-alone installation of Vista SP2 and it fails with the error message.

  • OfficeJet 6600 Gets the message of Network Installation fails when you try to install

    Hello

I have the worst time setting up my new printer wireless Officejet 6600. I work with a wireless-N router that was purchased less than a year ago. I have other wireless products that work well with the internet, so I do not see there is a connectivity problem.

The test of the printer indicates that everything is OK:

    Wireless on - PASS
    Wireless - PASS work
    Signal quality - very good
    Connected - PASS

    etc, etc.

I ran through all the troubleshooting I can find and nothing works. I have disabled the firewall, unplugged my router and modem, disconnected the printer, tried to implement on its own IP address. The installation wizard finds her and tries to implement, but I only get the message that it was a "network installation without success.

    Has anyone experience this problem?

Any new ideas on troubleshooting are welcome.

    Thank you
    Liz

    Hello

Thank you for your comments. I didn't expect such a quick response, which was great.

I move the printer to get a signal 'excellent' and tried the other steps you listed.  Through some googling more, we discovered that we needed to do the following:

    Go to the control panel

    Select Printers and faxes

    Right click and select Properties

    Select the Ports section

Add the port to the IP address of the printer displays

Not sure if this is the ideal way, but of course, it worked and I am now a happy customer. Hope it helps someone. I'll still Bravo for having responded so quickly.

    Thanks again!

  • vCenter install fails when you try to install the vcenter Server to the node of the PSC in HA mode

    Hi all

We have two controllers on duty platform build in HA mode. We are trying to install the vCenter server and we get the error message below.

Has anyone in the community runs vcenter server 6 HA with PSC inspectors sitting behind the f5 load balancer? Please share your thoughts if you have seen a similar problem.

    Thank you.

    Hi all

We are able to go beyond the question of the installation. We did the capture of packets on both ends and discover that the reset was issued the installer by the licensing vCenter service running on the PSC.

We have also created firewall rules more 18 altogether since the server vcenter for our f5 load balancing program, then 6 VIP of the F5 on the two controllers on duty Platform.

I hope this helps other people who sought to install PSC in HA mode.

  • My Firefox accepts no new extra, he continues to ask for permission to install them when they are already installed, what should I do?

The reason why I use Firefox is the ability to be customized, since I use it, I want to my favorite characters and extensions, such as tools or dictionarys bars, but recently, without realizing why, whenever I start a new session in Windows XP, and for the first time I start Firefox, he asks permission to install options that are already installed. I have already uninstalled Firefox, deleted my old profile and re-installed all extensions try to solve the problem, but he persists, Firefox only correctly starts with all the extras disabled, which is very annoying because I allow facilities and restart, or in case the options are disabled, enable them, and restart Firefox. Can you help me fix this please? Sorry, but if you don't I'll have to go back to IE...

I took some time, but finally I solved the problem. (Mostly because I had no time to do it before)
I noticed that my AV has an anti-phishing toolbar that Firefox cannot remove, (she isn't just having 'remove' button in the Add-ons Manager), I am suspicious of this kind of behavior and decided to uninstall the AV.
Fortunately, it has solved the problem and allows us to conclude that it was a problem of incompatibility caused by the toolbar of the VA.
Thank you for your valuable help!

  • IE8_Windows automatic update when IE8 is already installed

original title: automatic update anomaly IE8_Windows

Windows Auto Update on my laptop under Windows XP Sp3, just downloaded and prompted me to install "Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP".  However, I'm already under IE8 (8.0.6001.18702 worm).

The update is not called an "update for IE8" and its accompanying info explains the benefits for me to install IE8.

In addition, there is a link in the details area of this automatic update that goes to a website showing "we're sorry, the requested page is not found.

Is this just a problem in the Windows automatic updates, in fact just an update to my already installed IE8 or something more sinister?

    Appreciate your advice

    In no order given...

1 automatic updates will not offer all other updates as long as there are one or more updates in the queue (for example, IE8).

    2. in my previous answer, hide (optional, non-security update) KB951847, the HID Driver (generically identified as KB 911895) and IE8update.

TIP: If you have not already run the troubleshooter automated in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 & restarted, you may need to do if after you hide these updates.

    3. http://windowsteamblog.com/ie/b/ie/archive/2011/12/15/ie-to-start-automatic-upgrades-across-windows-xp-windows-vista-and-windows-7.aspx refers to IE8 in WinXP and IE9 in Vista & Win7.

    4. as far as I know there is no current, yet available AV app version (free or otherwise, including Avast and Avira AntiVir) which would be like 'light' on your Windows XP system as a bit outdated-yet-still-supported by AVG Free v9.

Comment: A casual survey on the malware removal forums will show you that the vast majority of infected systems are running AVG Free (any version) - followed closely by ISP-freebies McAfee Security Center & Norton Security Suite. Think about it...

  • I continue to be prompted to install Silverlight when it is already installed. Can someone tell me how to get out of this loop of promting?

I am a customer of netflix and watching movies/TV shows on my PC.  I watched a lot of movies in the past and today he says I have to install Silverlight.  So I thought 'Ok, maybe the version of Silverlight, I have glitched somehow. "  So I uninstalled and reinstalled and it's the same thing.  Can someone help me on how to convince my compy that he already Silverlight and didn't need another?

    Hey Becca444,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers site!

You get asked to install Silverlight on a particular Web page or all of the sites you visit?

Try to visit http://www.microsoft.com/Silverlight and see if Silverlight content on this page will load for you. Currently this site will show a carousel app that shows a few sites that use Silverlight. If you go over it and right click on your mouse, you should see "Silverlight" in the right click menu.

If you see a prompt to install Silverlight on the site:

    · Is it installed? If you are using Windows, check the applet of Control Panel programs and see if Microsoft Silverlight is listed as installed.

    · If it is disabled? See the modules of your browser menu (for example, in Internet Explorer click on tools-> manage add-ons) and if you find Silverlight in there, and it is disabled, enable it and I hope that you will be ready to go.

    · Something else? You might want to try another browser to see if it's the specific browser. You can also try the forums of installation & installation on http://Silverlight.net.

If Silverlight works very well on the site of Silverlight but not the site you are trying to visit, you will probably have to contact the author of the site. If you are the author of the site or you are just curious to know what can be wrong, here are some things I've seen causing the quick loop infinite installation.

Check out the link for more details below:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/rpomeroy/archive/2009/06/17/why-do-i-keep-getting-prompted-to-install-Silverlight-on-some-websites.aspx

If Silverlight doesn't work for you, and you get errors, try to uninstall, reinstall or upgrade Silverlight, it may be due to a broken Silverlight installation. Check the link for more details cleaning a machine to fix a broken below Silverlight installation:
