  I have the blade that is a M610. its current 3.30 iDRAC6 Firmware version (Build 17), his version of BIOS is 6.0.7. I am trying to upgrade the firmware to 3.50 iDRAC (Build 4). I am upradging by the MCC on the M1000e chassis. I choose the slot of in that the blade is and then start the IDRAC GUI. I choose firmware update and select the firming.imc file that I used successfully on some other M610 blades. After about 30 seconds, he returned with the following error.

  I came across the same problem (with a refurb M610, iDRAC firmware has been 2.20).

  I tried to upgrade the iDRAC6 firmware to 3.60 via the web interface of iDRAC6 and it was a no go.

  I tried several browsers (chrome and firefox) and same problem each time.
  I tried to go to firmware (as shown in the accompanying note) 2.31 instead of 3.60 and same question every time.

  I finally managed to update the firmware of the iDRAC6 by upgrading the web interface M1000e and not in the iDRAC6 web interface.

  It worked the first time (using Chrome).

  I am temporarily caring for a Dell PowerEdge T610 purchased in 2012.  Our outsourced IT Department walked me through some maintenance tasks, including required launches a Virtual Console through iDRAC6. Apparently my iDRAC6 version (V1.80) is so old, no modern browser it supports fully. What I have for the most part works with Chrome and FireFox, not IE (but it's OK - I don't work with IE either).

  I am trying to determine if a firmware upgrade path exists for my hardware, and if so, what are the steps. None of my research on the Dell Web site have meaningful results. Since my system is no longer under warranty I don't get a lot of help by telephone, and "cat" is denied for me as well.

  If anyone can point me to a good place to get started which would be a great help.  Thank you!

  See the upgrade below. First apply the BIOS, then the respective DRAC6 firmware.

  6.2.3 BIOS iDRAC6 v1.92                   

  BIOS 6.3.0 iDRAC6 v1.95                  

  BIOS 6.4.0 iDRAC6 v1.97, iDRAC6 v1.99 , and iDRAC6 v2.8.0                  

  The path of update will prevent iDRAC communication and other server issues.

  No, iDRAC act as the BMC in 11G and later systems which they are intended. They are not PCI cards as most of the DRAC have older. They are either integrated into the system board or cards are girls, so in addition to being functionally different they are physically different and did not fit into a location any on the 1950s.

  I know who to buy Ent idrac6 material to replace.

  But I want to upgrate to business idrac7 instead off idrac6 Ent.

  Is able to upgrade to idrac7 Ent or just Ent r710 idrac6?

  The R710 will support not using the iDrac 7, as is logical is incorporated into the Gen 12 systems themselves. To improve the iDrac6 at the enterprise level, you must add the Works Council (part number K869T or J675T) seen below.

  

  This will allow the use of the console remotely.

  The upgrade of iDRAC6 (physical to the snap card) at iDRAC7 (welded as SOC on a mobo) is not possible via a firmware update. Please specify.

  We strive to set up ssl certificates on our idrac6 enterprise (2.85 (Build 04)) active servers.

  The SSL chain looks like this:

  1. certification authority root

  2 intermediate CA

  3. Certificate SSL iDRAC

  I can't get the intermediate certificate to work OK, whenever I could connect idrac, it does not present the certificate of the idrac and does not include the string my browser continues to complain.

  I tried two different methods of Linux with racadm

  1)

  Cat idrac.crt intermediate.crt > idrac.combo.crt

  One of my colleagues went to a customer who has a few problems with the upgrade of its most recent firmware iDRAC6.
  Case 1
  R710 - with firmware version 1.41-> 1.54 fails to 30%

  Case 2
  With the firmware 1.54-> 1.70 R710 - fails to 30%. Also I tried 1.54-> 1.80 fails also to 30%.

  In both cases we found no indicationin error log files. Download was fine, checksum is ok, only FW upgrade failed, but no details.
  It's a common mistake? What can we do to work around this error?

  I finally after trying to update iDRAC 6 version 1.0.3.10 to 1.98.8 (last update of this post)

  The update (stuck) were held 30%.

  Solution is to download "firming.d6" * wait 5 minutes * before clicking on the button update to begin loading the new firmware.

  R610 server would not update unless the server has been turned off and then follow instructions above.

  If I clicked the button to update firmware soon after downloading the file, it would always fail at 30%.

• iDrac7 does not after that some has no connections

  Our system has a few new servers R720 with Enterprise iDrac7. Today, I noticed that the iDrac7 IP does not respond (cannot ping, ssh, web GUI...) after three connections fail in the Web interface (I typed the wrong password). I had to unplug the power cord to reset the iDrac and open it again.

  IDrac factory firmware is 1.57.57. I tried to upgrade to the latest 1.66.65 but can not solve the problem.

  So, how I solve it?

  Can you check IP blocked on iDRAC. You can check the setting "Settings-> network-> avancΘs iDRAC" iDRAC GUI page. Default iDRAC IP will be blocked for 10 minutes from the client if you type the wrong password 3 times in 60 seconds. You will be able to access the iDRAC of different customers during this period. You can access the customer even iDRAC after the penalty defined in the parameter.

• Move another r710 iDRAC6 Enterprise r710

  All that I need to consider when moving an Enterprise of a r710 iDRAC6 card to an another r710?  The r710 destination already iDRAC6 express so I'm covered there.  I don't see no export option as iDRAC7 so I think that that does not apply to the iDRAC6.

  Yes. Configuration will be the destination server. After you insert the company card iDRAC on the destination server, you must manually change the mode network iDRAC to dedicated. This is because the destination iDRAC is currently in shared mode.

  The two actually. With the T320 dedicated everything is incorporated in the database, only the vFlash port and the dedicated management RJ45 port are optional. Thus, you can activate the license and have all the features of the Express iDrac7 or business, just without vflash and dedicated port, because it is located.

  If you chose to get option two, reference numbers are listed below.

  VFlash - 342-3723 part number

  IDrac port card - 331-6956 part number

  Now the difference with this one is that you have licenses that controls the Express and the company, here are the numbers for the different licenses.

  iDRAC7 Express 30 day trial - 421-6925

  Company iDRAC7 trial - 30 days 421-5344

  License Express - 421-6086

  We have a Poweredge T310 and T320. The T310 has iDRAC6 Enterprise. The Express iDRAC7 T320. I installed Open Essesntials manage on the T320 and created an inventory. He finds all the equipment in the network, but I can't find the iDRAC.

  Now, I've been messing around with the settings of the iDRAC, so it is possible very well I missed for OME. Read the manual of OME and iDRAC, but I can't find information on how to configure OME and iDRAC for them to interact.

  Is there a faq/paper/wiki explaining how to configure things is usable?

  To use SNMP to discover the iDRAC. IDRAC expected default SNMP enabled with a public community name. Enable SNMP to OME and make sure that the community appoints match and you should be good to go. Here is a white paper:

  I've searched the forums and Google but can't seem to find a solution to this problem. Details:

  • iDRAC6
  • Firmware: v1.95 (also passed the previous, updated firmware upgraded to this version to see if she would be in trouble but did not)

  I would recommend the DRAC reset to the factory settings. The command that you have done a racadm racreset performs a soft reset/reboot of the racadm racresetcfg DRAC reset the DRAC to factory default. You will need to reconfigure the user/pass and the local network settings after you perform this operation.

  I'm not aware of VNC being a feature of the iDRAC6 support. It is my understanding that VNC support is a feature that was first added to the iDRAC7 with the firmware update 1.50.50. It is present in all versions of the iDRAC8 and the iDRAC7 with this firmware and later.

  If you've found information depending on whether it is a feature of the iDRAC6 then please link it or post it.

• No service after upgrade the server to 5.2 on El Capitan

  I have a web server that was doing very well until I left the 5.2 update suggested to install OS X Server. I can't get to broadcast web pages. Screen sharing works always and nothing has changed on the routers, etc.

  I restarted the server after the update and restarted the server itself several times but keep getting connection via a browser failures.

  I did the upgrade even on other servers as well as the upgrade of Sierra. This server is running El Capitan, and is the only one that gave me problems. 5.2 server is not compatible with El Capitan?

  Some additional info:

  I can connect to the server through ftp and other services; just no web service.

  Port tests show that port 80 is not blocked

  Using the IP address I can get to the window of the home server.

  Accessibility means no services available

  Websites is on and I can't find anything that is not defined in law or is different than before the update.
