IE 8 that I use with Windows XP constantly freezes and says that it is (no response).

I have a little Acer One connected to my bigger screen.  I use the free version of AVG, I've read can cause problems and I have also read that I needed to update my version of Java and this could lead to freezing and no response in IE8.  Come to find out that I didn't even have Java so you download the version for my computer but nothing changed.  I need an answer to help my computer.  He arrived at the point where I can't even get anything without IE8 freezing and when I try to wait just outside, it will specify that it does not.

Someone has fixes out there for this?  I ran the Microsoft Fix It tool - nothing.  I have disabled all addons just to see if it can help, but - nothing.  I am at a loss here.  Help, please.

could be malicious or ie8 is corrupt.

There are several options,

1. clear your temporary internet files, go to tools, internet options, under browsing history, click on remove in the next box, just check and uncheck the box given to preserve your favorite Web sites.

2. Remove avg using the removal tool:

3. install Microsoft security essentials:

4. make sure that your system is clean:

Download, install, update and scan with these full free malware detection programs:

Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

Remove all found, restart, and run again until analyses race clean, these can be removed later if you wish. Perform analyses to one at a time, please.

5. go in Microsoft updates and ensure you are fully patched and updated analysis of the express, install, then do a custom scan and install Rootkit updates.

6 uninstall ie8 then reinstall ie8, if you installed SP3 after ie8, read this:
