If I change my pc Windows 10 windows 7 will still be able to use my software adobe photo shop 7 is now on my pc?

If I change my windows 7 to 10 windows will I still be able to use my photo shop software 7, which now installed on my pc?

The question you should ask yourself if your system that works perfectly is critical to what you do. If so, wait after a few dozen output to see what happens before migrating.

You do not want to be among the flood of people complain in these forums that old software not supported from Adobe "does not work" on an OS that came out after 12 years of release 7.

  • Can we move that a backup of the Windows Image to a different drive location years still be able to use it to restore?

I did a Windows 'backup system image"when first of all, I got my new computer and put it on a hard drive internal, designated as"D", which was intended to be used for data. I tried to do a restore, and although very "fussy" has been able to do.

The image of the system take much space and if I had to do over again I would have put somewhere else.

I have read that the image cannot be moved to another location or it will no longer be abel to to beused to restore from. Is this true?

    (1) can I move the image of the system upward (and parent folders he created) to another drive (preferably external) and still be able to restore from it if necessary?

    (2) can I move the image of the system upward (and parent folders he created) to another drive (preferably external) and move them back the same origin drve and still be able to restore from them if necessary.

    (3) the optimum would be a stand-alone backup on external media (such as the blu - ray, DVD, etc.) to restore from scratch, if necessary.

    I use Windows 7 64-bit.

    Thanks in advance.

You can move your images wherever you want, but to restore from them, the WindowsImageBackup folder should be moved to the root of a drive, so you can move it to

    J:\WindowsImageBackup

for example.  J: didn't need to be the drive that the image was made for the first time on.

I found confusing indications that Windows might support images being elsewhere as the image during the restoration list would identify the correct date & time for the last image on the disc.  However, it would then only work with an image that I grow in X:\WindowsImageBackup as explained above.

I managed my images using a subfolder of H:\ J:\ or O:\ called ImagesWin7, which itself has 20120205 1126 etc. subfolders.  I put some descriptive info I want in the relevant subfolder so I can see key information easily if I want to restore.  Then, I create the image & move this folder WindowsImageBackup, so I find myself with O:\ImagesWin7\20120205 1126\WindowsImageBackup and I also have a 1126\Explanation.txt of O:\ImagesWin7\20120205 of the text file that contains my notes on what I was just doing or was about to do on the system.

What is resolved issues for you?  If this isn't the case, please let me know your remaining questions.

It IS a big help (since this is exactly what I was trying to accomplish).

Education path for my pictures of system includes a machine name

    (i.e. the 170453\ J:\WindowsImageBackup\MachineName\Backup 2010-12-03)

Can I have added the word "Backup" myself as a descriptor that I don't remember.

I also have added the subfolder/directory "MachineName" myself. I don't remember.

Will have to start from scratch and create another backup of WindowsImage (without any writing help) and see what is the path for this image. Then attempt to restore etc and if it works then try again restore one of my old backups.

It may be I made the backup unusable images (even if they are visible for the restore program) by changing the path and / / or folder names. Although it seems that you have also done this with your "imagesWin" directory You replace the image backup in the root directory, and then restore it?

The only reason for all this must be able to reach and (if necessary access and restore from) one of the first images saves when the machine was new, blank before installing the software ay etc. Easier to make a bare metal restore to install Win7 from scratch, load the drivers and configure etc.

As mentioned above, I now use ShadowProtect Desktop 4 for backups image system (including incremental images) and have found that it is great (and images can be moved to any directoyr and bootable recovery environment will restore bare metal from any location, USB, DVD, same network etc.

Better documentation of Windows would have certainly been useful,

    Thanksfor your ideas

  • I will never be able to use non metro (from store windows) applications on my windows laptop RT?

I'll never be able to run the internet like google chrome, iTunes and facebook video chat downloads?

Or load discs like the Sims games?

    Thank you

    Hello JuliaMcMurdo,

You will need to ask the companies if they plan to develop and offer apps in the store RT for Windows. I can tell you that the current Google app has a lot of features and many built-in features of Google.

It is highly unlikely that Microsoft would change the RT OS to enable downloads and installs apps that are not in the store.

  • Existing Windows updates will still be available for download after the end of the world?

Even though I am well aware that the Extended Support for Windows XP ends April 8 next year, I wonder if it will be possible to download existing updates to update of Windows, including Service Pack 3, after the end of the Extended Support phase.

    Thank you
    Thomas

I wonder if there is a way to download all the updates relevant at a time, in a sort of package instead download and install each one, one.

If you mean every single security update (and Service Pack) that is never released for Windows XP (that is, since August 2001), God not!

If you end up needing to do a clean install of Windows XP after Q 2, 14, you would be better to replace the computer! [1]

PS: Get a computer fully patched after doing a clean install of Windows XP Gold (no Service Pack) may take 24 hours or more!

    ================================================================

[1] I have resisted to replace my laptop Windows XP 9 year and enjoyed for years. Then end of December 2012, I realized that something other that a new Win8 computer would soon be almost impossible, so I gritted my teeth & get a Win7 (64 bit) laptop for a very reasonable price IMHO. Find it was a bit of a challenge.

  • Gadgets Windows 7 is still not safe to use? (even those packaged with the original version)?

A colleague sent me the following links concerning Windows gadgets in Windows 7.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Gadgets

    http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=309853

I have Windows 7 and the CPU meter that comes standard on a build of Windows 7 Enterprise.  Is still this gadget that a safety risk and I need to turn off the gadgets Windows no matter if they have been with the original or additional content downloaded version?

I thought that if even the prepackaged gadgets where a security risk can be up-to-date critical Windows Update was released to ensure that gadgets have been disabled.

    GB

As far as I know no (other than the Task Manager) CPU meter comes with all versions of win 7.

How gadgets work are a risk.

  • Pavilion 14 G6S71UA #ABA: I'll always be able to use the pre-loaded software HP products if I do a clean install of Windows 10?

I have a laptop 14 flag that came with Windows 8.1 - 64 Home, and I have upgraded to Windows Home 10-64. The upgrade went very wrong, but I would use Win 10 if possible. Microsoft recommends that I have to do a clean install of Windows 10, which will require you to reinstall all my programs MANY. They cannot tell me, however, if I'll still be able to use some of the applications delivered HP pre-loaded on my machine and that I find very useful - even if I am out of warranty. For example, I use HP Support Assistant updates the driver, and I found that HP DriveGuard works really well!

I'll always be able to download all of these products and hence? I'll be able to get them on the page of the drivers for my laptop? If I can't, I'll probably have to settle for return to Windows 8.1.

    Thank you.

Because the rep on the Microsoft forum did not answer my questions, today I called the support of Microsoft Windows 10 phone number. After that the rep is lost another hour of time my (and their) me browsing to enter SafeMode via several methods, everything I told him that I had already tried. the representative suggested that customizations of account that I had applied could be the cause of the distress.

She also informed me that, for security reasons, Windows 10 no longer allows connectivity Mode Wireless safe; Although, if your PC is physically connected to the modem/router, you should be able to enter in IE (and maybe even in Edge) in Safe Mode.

So I added a new local administrator account (that said, I log in with a password and not with one account Microsoft.), to be used only for safe mode and left all its parameters to the default values for Microsoft. And it worked! When connected to my router, I could get in Mode safe mode with internet connectivity via IE! Thanks to this rep, I finally have success.
