  • How to define the format of a field drop-down list text align at the top of the field instead of the Center?

    I have a form with the fields of data entry simple Acrobat 11. I have, for the first time inserted drop-down lists and most of them is single-line fields. However, there are a few examples where my field must be larger to mask unwanted background. (The field will define the colur to white background are data entry, but I did not write the script for this.) When a selection is made, it appears centered in the field and I need to be aligned to the top.

    I guess I can put a script on the Format tab, in the custom format script, but I don't know enough about Javascript to run on the syntax. I guess it would be a simple line or two of code. Can anyone help?

    You have no control over this. They are always vertically centered. You can use a separate field in the drop down menu, however, and control its background. I suggest to use a read-only button.

  • By selecting an option in a drop-down list displays a hidden text box and checkbox

    Being fairly new to the creation of pdf form I would be grateful for some assistance.

    I'm looking to have a number of choices in a drop-down list (dropdown1) show a hidden textbox (textbox1) and the box (checkbox1)

    The selections that would show are:

    iPad only

    Or

    Laptop and iPad

    I'm sure it's rather easy.

    Thanks in advance

    You can use this code as the custom for the drop-down list field validation script:

    var f1 = this.getField("textbox1");
    var f2 = this.getField("checkbox1");

    if (event.value=="iPad Only" || event.value=="Laptop and iPad") {
        f1.display = display.visible;
        f2.display = display.visible;
    } else {
        f1.display = display.hidden;
        f2.display = display.hidden;
    }

  • Several list drop-down menu items to fill the area of separate text even. How can I do?

    Acrobat x Pro, I have figured out how to create a dropdown menu with items that will populate a separate text box, but how do I get several menu items to fill the text box. For example. My menu has three items, cat, dog, mouse. I choose the cat and it appears in the separate text box (hooray). Then I choose "dog" in the same menu. I would like it to appear in the text box even my previous selection 'chat '. Is this possible? I am very new to JavaScript, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

  • I'm not able to choose an element from a list 'drop-down list' of choice. The list flashes on and turned off so fast that it pause long enough to make a selection.

    I had this same problem a month ago and put off the power of acceleration has helped some. Acceleration is always "off", but the problems are back. Also I am not able to scroll all the way to the bottom of a document, it returns control to the top. Somehow, this is related to the use of my mouse. I have no problem when I use IE as my browser. This leads me to the conclusion that it is specifically related to FF.

    Try to reset your firefox.
    Open a new tab, type Subject: press and then click on reset Firefox.
    This should solve your problem.

  • How to change values from drop-down list in several fields simultaneously

    I have a 50-page form that contains a multitude of areas.  One of the fields from drop-down list is repeated throughout the form.  The values in the drop-down list options must be the same for all fields of form drop-down list.  These fields are not copies.  I need to make them individually selectable with touching other areas.

    The problem is, I often have to update the values in these fields... and there are dozens of them.

    Is there a way to store the list in the document and have all dropdowns access from this central location?

    You can do quite easily with a script. For example:

    var aList is ['Alaska', 'Washington', "Oregon", "Idaho", "Montana"];.

    getField("dropdown1").setItems (aList);

    getField("dropdown2").setItems (aList);

    Add any other dropdowns here

    You can store this code in a JavaScript function at the level of the document and update it and then call it whenever you need to update the drop-down lists. If you need to include the value of exports for the elements, you need to change the table suruneliste to an array of arrays, something like:

    aList var = [['Alaska', 'AK'] ['Washington', 'WA'], ['Oregon', 'GOLD'], ['Idaho', 'ID'], ['Montana', 'MT']];

  • Using a choice of multiple words in a drop-down list field to launch a java script

    I'm a complete newbie to manuscript of java and relatively new to your building in Acrobat.

    I use a drop-down list field to fill in automatically other fields based on my 1st drop-down list selection.

    The 1st field drop-down allows me to select a variety of suppliers.  Once I have selected the vendor, he auto-remplit the coordinates for this provider.

    I've plagiarized the writing of scripts from this link: https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/change_another_field.  I even changed my domain names for the moment.  I'll change my return form field names and the script to match once I got it working like I want.

    If I use only one name in my drop down list provider (1 field), the script works perfectly and auto-remplit contact as expected information.  However, many of my suppliers are two words or more... and I need those names in print, so I can't do just a contraction of a Word.  Here is the script I use:

    Here is an example of a supplier of single word name that works as expected:
    Put all vorkriegsbevölkerung data in a single data structure
    var DeptData = {ADLEMI: {contact: "P.O. BOX 2371",}}
    E-mail: "DOWNEY, CA 90242."
    {{deptnum: "PHONE: (562) 923-0333 FAX: (562) 923-8111 '}};
    function SetFieldValues (cDeptName)
    {
    this.getField("DeptContact").value = DeptData [cDeptName] .contact.
    this.getField("DeptEmail").value = DeptData [cDeptName] .email;
    this.getField("DeptNumber").value = DeptData [cDeptName] .deptnum;
    }

    Unique provider name, I used in the example above is "ADLEMI."  If I add 'BEST' to ADLEMI (see below), I get a syntax error.  I really need to be able to use several words in my list drop-down provider to trigger auto-fill.

    Put all vorkriegsbevölkerung data in a single data structure

    var DeptData = {ADLEMI BEST: {contact: "P.O. BOX 2371",}}

    E-mail: "DOWNEY, CA 90242."

    {{deptnum: "PHONE: (562) 923-0333 FAX: (562) 923-8111 '}};

    function SetFieldValues (cDeptName)

    {

    this.getField("DeptContact").value = DeptData [cDeptName] .contact.

    this.getField("DeptEmail").value = DeptData [cDeptName] .email;

    this.getField("DeptNumber").value = DeptData [cDeptName] .deptnum;

    }

    The only difference is that I added a space and the word 'BEST' after ADLEMI.  Is there a way to get around this.  I need to have several words in my drop-down list, or at least the full name of the vendor indicating in the field when I print it.

    Thank you

    Place quotation marks around the name of the element.

  • Hide the drop-down list when you print only when "PLEASE SELECT" is selected (unused field).

    Our form has several drop-down lists that by default the option "Choose", and not all of them are used whenever the form is used.  When we print a copy of each document, we would like the (unused) field "Choose" to disappear when printing - to make a copy of paper filter.  Is there a script for this?  I tried to use only the general framework ' Visible but does not print ", but of course, the field prints any - we need to print only when there was one another option as the default"Select"is selected.  Thanks in advance for your help.

    Coleen

    You can use a custom validation script, something like:

    Event.Target.Display = event.value = "choose"? display.noPrint: display.visible;

    To put this into effect, you will need to make a different choice and place it back to "choose." Another option would be to place as a custom Format script.

  • Show drop-down list field hide selection in another drop-down list box

    Hello I need to create two drop-down fields on a dynamic PDF in LiveCycle. The first field contains three choices. When a user selects an item in the drop-down list first I would like to a new field of drop-down list has been shown. For each item in the first drop-down list appears a new field drop-down list with unique values. If the user chooses blue drop-down list of blue shades indicate in this menu drop-down will be various shades of blue to choose for. If the Red is chosen, Shades of Red dropdown with appearance and if yellow is displayed the same occurs. Also if the user must go back and change their selection in the first drop-down list, they can do the same. Any suggestions?

    Thank you in advance.

    There are 2 ways you could do this. The first is just to have the 3 drop-down lists for the second box to separate and do them all hidden. The output of the first dropdown event would then have the code that would make it the second box become visible, something like (in formcalc):

    If ($ == 1) then

    dropdownRed.presence = "visible".

    dropdownBlue.presence = "hidden".

    dropdownYellow.presence = "hidden".

    ElseIf ($ == 2) then

    dropdownRed.presence = "hidden".

    dropdownBlue.presence = "visible".

    dropdownYellow.presence = "hidden".

    ElseIf ($ == 3) then

    dropdownRed.presence = "hidden".

    dropdownBlue.presence = "hidden".

    dropdownYellow.presence = "visible".

    endif

    The other option is just to have a dropdown that dynamically changes its options based on the results of the first box. So in the second box preOpen event you might have something like (in formcalc):

    If (dropdown1 == 1) then

    $. clearItems()

    $.setItems ("light red, dark red")

    ElseIf (dropdown1 == 2) then

    $. clearItems()

    $.setItems ("sky blue, dark blue")

    ElseIf (dropdown1 == 3) then

    $. clearItems()

    $.setItems ("light yellow, dark yellow")

    endif

  • Multiple drop-down lists using SetFieldValues mixture fields.

    I have 2 drop-down lists (Dropdown1 & Dropdown2). They are identicle except for their domain names and of their first element option.  When the user chooses an option, I want a predetermined value to be sent to a field of text (FeeAmountRow1 & FeeAmountRow2).  Similar to a purchase order using a drop down.

    By trial and error what I know is that somewhere my scripts are cross.  When I try the shape as the script below, the two drop-down lists send values in the same text instead of their respective field.  Removal of code in each menu drop-down makes the job of other fines.

    I made each of them 'value selected to validate immediately '.  I added the following Scripts of striking personalized to their format.

    Dropdown1 - text if field resets the default drop-down list option is selected, this feature works very well.

    if (event.willCommit) {
        if (event.value == "Select Day 1 Service Type") this.resetForm(["FeeAmountRow1"]);
        else SetFieldValues(event.value);
    }

    Dropdown2

    if (event.willCommit) {
        if (event.value == "Select Day 2 Service Type") this.resetForm(["FeeAmountRow2"]);
        else SetFieldValues(event.value);
    }

    I use the following script:

    // Dropdown option items data
    var saData = {
        "Speaking Engagement": {
            fee: "1360.00"
        },
            "Field Ride Consultation": {
            fee: "1700.00"
        },
            "Speaker's Training": {
            fee: "1500.00"
        }
    };

    function SetFieldValues(saName) {
        // Populate fields with values
        this.getField("FeeAmountRow1").value = saData[saName].fee;
        this.getField("FeeAmountRow2").value = saData[saName].fee;
    }

    In the SetFieldValues function, it is exactly what the code does. He defined two different fields to the same value. Create a separate for each field feature individual rtext, or pass the name of the field as a parameter. For example:

    function SetFieldValues(f_name, saName) {
        // Populate fields with values
        this.getField(f_name).value = saData[saName].fee;
    }

    New script from typo to dropdown2
    if (event.willCommit) {
        if (event.value == "Select Day 2 Service Type") this.resetForm(["FeeAmountRow2"]);
        else SetFieldValues("FeeAmountRow2", event.value);
    }

  • How to fill a textfield based on a drop-down list and a checkbox control

    Hi guys,.

    I need help.
    first step: I have a drop down list, if I click in the dropdownlist control 'a' and place it in the digital field a number greater than 99, checkbox must be marked and second step: a textfield1 must be visible.

    the first stage works perfectly, but the second does not.
    This is my code for the second stage of the event: java script of change of

    If ((DropDownList1.rawValue == "a") & & (this.rawValue == 1))
    {
    TextField1.presence = "visible";
    }
    on the other
    TextField1.presence = 'hidden ';

    everyone has no idea why?

    Thank you!!

    Diana

    Hi Diana,

    You are on the right track. deleteItem is zero base; so if you want to remove the second point, it would be deleteItem (1).

    I would recommend a script similar to the output from the drop-down list, so that if the user goes back and changes the value, the same logic would apply. Also when you remove items from a drop-down list by using script, it is useful to addItem() again in the other part of the if statement. In this way, you can restore the list because the shape is changed.

    Also I would wrap the script in the numberField in another State to check for null first.

    Attached example.

    Good luck

  • Hide several pages unless the drop-down list is selected

    Hello

    I have a 4-page form that I need to be able to hide 3 of 4 pages until a selection is made from a drop-down list on the first page box. So I have, for example, the pages marked:

    Page 1

    Page 2

    Page 3

    Page 4

    I have a drop down list which has

    Page 2

    Page 3

    Page 4

    for options and if no selection is made only Page 1, will be visible. If the selection is Page 2, I wish that all pages except page 2 to be hidden and only see page 2, did not 4 pages show and only show Page 2 fields.

    Does anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks in advance for any idea!

    The only downside to the activation of your condition is that the first page of the form can not be deleted. If you set page 1 "Hidden" will be hidden objects on the page, but the page itself will remain in the form that is displayed as a blank page.

    Attached shows a form with page 0-4 (5 pages). A drop down menu on page 0 and it controls the rendering of pages 1-4.

  • Populate drop-down list with the results of several drop-down lists

    Hi, I am creating a form where the results of two drop-down lists then would fill another drop-down list. I'm not new to javascript, but I'm new to using it in Acrobat, so while I found some answers to this: Drop-down list fill in multiple fields of text. I don't know where to implement this, if it is still the right thing, I'm looking for pipes for

    Oh and I use Acrobat Pro DC. Any help would be much appreciated!

    OK, you can create a function at the level of the document that is called in the Validate event of each of the two first drop down menus, something like:

    Function in JavaScript to the document level

    function updateDropdown() {}

    Get references to the drop-down menus of entry

    var F1 = getField ("DropdownList1");

    var F2 = getField ("DropdownList2");

    Refer to the output drop-down list

    F3 var = getField ("DropdownList3");

    Get the values of input field, as strings

    var s1 = event.target = f1? Event.value: f1.valueAsString;

    var s2 = event.target = f2? Event.value: f2.valueAsString;

    Fill the drop-down list of output with the elements, or deselect it if either input dropdown is 'empty' (single topic area)

    If (s1 = "" |) s2 === " ") {

    F3.clearItems ();

    } else {}

    F3.setItems (["", s1, s2]);

    }

    }

    In the two first downs Validate event, call this function like this:

    updateDropdown();

    You can of course name the function you want. More information about the properties and the methods used in the code are available in the Acrobat JavaScript documentation.

  • drop-down list dataProvider and an object of value

    I am filling a dropdown menu with values that are stored in an object of value.   I'm pulling the values from the table of a database vai SQLite the SQLResult object and they come as an array of objects of value. This is exaclty what I want, so I refer to those within a property of my object model and shipping and the event carrying this table.   I place the array of objects of value in a collection of table as follows:

    var dropDownListValues:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection(event.foodCategoryList);

    Try to access it via a drop-down list lists dataProvider property as follows:

    foodCategory.FoodCategory_DropDown.dataProvider = dropDownListValues;

    My drop-down list then displays

    [object Object]
    [object Object]
    [object Object]
    [object Object]
    [object Object]
    [object Object]

    My dropDownListValues object has the following table:

    [0]
         Foodcatagory = "Grains"
         FoodCatagory_ID = 1

    [1]
         Foodcatagory = "Vegetables"
         FoodCatagory_ID = 2

    etc. all the way up to index 5

    How can I get the drop-down list to display only the Grains, vegetables... etc.?

    Thank you

    I had to search around for a few hours today on the same subject.

    Basically just set the labelField of the drop-down list the name of the field for its values

    foodCategory.FoodCategory_DropDown.labelField = "Foodcatagory";
