If I leave tabs open when I close Firefox then shut down PC, are the tabs available to hackers?
I did not have this problem but someone at work warned me not to leave the tabs open when I stopped because the tabs open when the browser opens again... which is what I want, but she explained that open the tabs without having to re-enter passwords, so even if the PC is off hackers can get into the tabs already protected by. It makes no sense to me, but she is adamant, saying his bank account was wiped out because she didn't close her bank tab on its browser when the computer is shut down.
If your computer is turned off, it cannot be hacked. In addition, you can set your preferences to not save passwords if you wish. But no, if your computer is turned off are not accessible (for obvious reasons). For better security, you can use a master password in Firefox or put a password on your PC if someone turns on it back, they need to put a password. Use a master password to protect stored logins and passwords

If you use delete navigation, search and download history on Firefox in Firefox 3.5/6, or clear private data in Firefox 3 to clear the browsing history when Firefox is closed then in restaurant tabs at the last session (for example "save and exit" or "show my windows and tabs from last time ') does not work.

When I close Firefox, windows that were open when I closed Firefox are still open, when I click on a link to open a new window. I cleared my history and cookies and even uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but that did not work. I had this problem since upgrading to version 29. This isn't the only problem I have had with version 29. Anyone else had problems with version 29?
I ended up going in the settings to erase history and define it for clear history when Firefox closes and you select to erase history and kitchen and browsing history, the closing of Firefox. Now the links work very well and the last page I was watching until I closed Firefox is gone when it opens again. Problem solved!

This has just begun. When I close firefox it tells me that I am closing multiple tabs. and will not let me save them. the only option is to cancel or OK. When I say OK and restart Firefox all my tabs go :-( This happens every time now. I know how to recover my old tabs but whenever I close Firefox it always warns me that I'm closing multiple tabs.
Tanks for help getting Firefox working properly again
JimDo not use 'Clear history of Firefox closing' to clear the 'browsing history '.
- Tools > Options > Privacy: history: [X] clear history of Firefox closing > settings

Using the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" is a more reliable way to restore the session data.
- Tools > Options > general > startup: "When Firefox starts": "show my windows and tabs from last time '.

Each page is a zoomed out, and if I Zoom it, it is a normal size for a while, but when I close firefox and open it again, it has zoom out again, I have to zoom each page everytime I open a new page.
How to use Zoom?
The function Zoom of Page Firefox does a level of field by field to save favorite settings level users zoom, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox. Try these extensions:
-> Default FullZoom Level 4.5
-> NoSquint 2.1.2
Check and tell if its working.

Perhaps, you just need to wait for a while for Firefox download.
Perhaps, it is an extension/plugin slowing your Firefox.
When I close Firefox in the evening, it closes slowly and uses 50% of CPU. It unloads after several (30? 60?) seconds.

I looked in the 'Options' and I can't find a way to toggle this switch. I hope that this feature has not disappeared, because I use it all the time.
Versions of Firefox 4 + automatically record your session when you close Firefox. To restore your previous session click on the link of the Previous Session restoration on the subject: Home Home page or in the history menu.

Why are cookies not deleted when I close Firefox?
Hey,.
My problem is that I put Tools / Options / Privacy / history to "Use the custom settings for history", then under "cookies", I put keep up to the: to the "closing of Firefox".
Yet, when I close my browser and restart any of the cookies are deleted. If I register my tabs, I be online on Web sites that are open in the saved tabs. But even if I close the site and then leave. The site, and then reopen after having restarted Firefox, I am always connected. While Firefox is defined do not remember my user name or password, the only way this can happen is through cookies. Therefore, cookies are not deleted. But I can also see it in the list of cookies: it is full of old stuff.
So why are cookies not deleted despite this setting?
Firefox has beeen quite soft on the life private lately, and frankly I do not understand why. The possibility of having more than X days History automatically deleted is also long gone, and now this cookie setting does not, either.
If you reopen tabs automatically next time then Firefox stores cookies from these default tabs as part of session data in the sessionstore.js file.
You can set the browser.sessionstore.privacy_level pref 2 (never) or 1 (not HTTPS) on the topic: config page to disable the registration of cookies via session restore.
The browser.sessionstore.privacy_level_deferred pref is used when you do not reopen last session automatically via "show my windows and tabs from last time" and use the same values.

A cmd / batch file windows appears when I close firefox for a few secconds, why?
When I close firefox pops up a CMD window and then disappears and firefox closes.
What happened just after Norton deleted a file because it thinking it was bad (when parsing of his own volition)
The file that opens the window is located here:
C:\Users\Robert\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\jkqm25xu.default
I think this is perhaps one of the sessionstore javascript files.Hello, you can try to reproduce this behavior when you start firefox in safe mode, once? If not, perhaps an add-on is the cause...

my plugin update checker has been working well, so I know this isn't the problem. the problem is that when I update my flash player id stops at 95% or 96% and will remain like that until I close firefox and when I close firefox it then finishes update, but then what fierfox reopens it says he has again updated. I've never had this problem before so why now?
Here is a screenshot and see the screenshot just copy and past this link http://i.imgur.com/MafjKdn.png
Hello courtney-jane16, the result of the plugin check page unforunatley is correct, there was yet another vulnerability discovered in adobe flash player 16.0.0.296 who is already exploited in the wild.
See the Security Advisory: https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsa15-02.htmlThere is no difficulty because it published by adobe again and the button to update the plugin check site lead nowhere at the moment - so it's best to put the flash shockwave ask to activate plugin in firefox addons > plugins Panel!

I had recently an update (or upgrade?) for 16 FF. Today (and I believe that the update has been done a day or two before?) my cache, cookies and history are not compensation when I close FF. In addition, some links may not work. No links to full web pages but for pop ups of site (as the engine of Smillie on a bulletin board). They worked a few days but do work not today. I click on the link and nothing happens. I noticed the problem with the cookies not compensation for a few weeks ago, but it was not only on a single site all sites which is what is happening now.
My apologies if this is a little confusing. Thank you!
I use fill form for private browsing is a bit complicated. I just put everything out when I close Firefox.
Nevertheless, it seems to have fixed itself and now works for the time being everything is good. I have no idea what happened, but it works.
Thanks for your replies!

Pop - up when I close firefox, it very often
Which may be caused by disabling cookies via "clear recent history".
- Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > Firefox will be: "Use the custom settings for history" > [X] clear history of Firefox closing > settings
- Firefox > history > clear recent history or tools > clear recent history
If you use "Clear recent history" to clear Firefox cookies also tries to clear cookies from plugins like Flash (LSO), and then starts a process plugin-container for each plug-in, and which can add extra time and can cause a script error does not appear.
Make sure that all plugins are up-to-date.Exclude cookies from "Clear recent history" to see if that helps.
Allow all cookies expire when you close Firefox to delete unwanted cookies and keep those with an exception permit.
Make sure that you do not erase the "Site preferences" because that will remove all exceptions.- Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "Keep until the": "closing of Firefox".
