If I reset Firefox, I lose everything in the Favorites?
Hello - we have problems with the message of Cycle prohibited on our e-mail account of Firefox and I see someone saying that they reset Firefox to correct the problem, but I'm nervous that if reset us Firefox, we could lose our favorites (bookmarks). Can you please help us with this problem? Thank you.
Hi yoyo, a reset will not affect your bookmarks (and in any case, there will be a backup created on your desktop labeld "old data from firefox"). For more information, see Refresh Firefox – reset the parameters and modules

Firefox frequently loses focus of the window
It seems that Firefox frequently loses focus of the window when I opened a new page. It can be a bookmark, a link open in a new tab using CTRL-click left or whatever. The following scenario always translates into the window loses focus (for me).
- Open Firefox.
- Open this link and save it.
- Close, and then reopen Firefox.
- Open the page just a bookmark using the bookmarks list and do not touch the window.
I read this page a day, so when I launch Firefox and open the page, I click on it in order to scroll, etc...

Reset did not say I would lose everything--it seemed that most would still be preserved. I do not understand about the creation of the new profile, and copy everything on it. Is there an easier way to do this? I tried to restore my computer hoping that would bring back how it was, but that didn't work. I'm not an expert in computer so need baby steps on it. I have windows 7. Thank you.
You are welcome

When I try to view my videos I get a {"Videos.library - ms" are no longer working., this library can be removed safely from your computer.} Records that have been added will not suffer.} Message.
I looked on the web and everywhere I look it says to remove the folder videos and restoration, but "Note:removal of a library does not delete the contents of the included folders.» "However, you need to add or include your folders manually, if necessary." I don't want to lose anything that is not in a folder. There is way to much to lose...
Help, please!
Right-click the video library (the one with the blue icon) and choose Remove. It will not erase all files.
Then right click on the word 'Libraries' and choose 'Restore default libraries'
And don't worry - even if you make a mistake and you delete the wrong thing, you can recover from the Recycle Bin on your desktop, that's why he's here :)

I downloaded a plugin (module) of Facebook on my toolbar and it made my whole computer run slowly. I disabled the add-on, removed the toolbar, and everything was always super slow. I went troubleshooting and press reset firefox. It was in the process of resetting, and my screen went black. I thought it was just the screensaver, but after pressing the space bar, screen did not return. I have made a difficult exit on my Mac and restarted my computer. On my desk, there are now a record that says "Old Firefox Data". When I try to open firefox I get a message stating "unable to load your firefox profile. It may be missing or inaccessible. I tried to reinstall firefox, for example, to have the same result. Help!
The name of the file should not be mozilla-bin, but firefox-bin

I have a PC running Windows 7 Ultimate. Lately when I'm in Firefox (running the most recent version), if I try to open more than one tab, Firefox slows down and I get the message "Mozilla Firefox does not. in a few seconds, regardless of site I try to open in the new tab opens; Firefox just seems to be morose. Finally, I tried to reset Firefox. After I did the reset, I noticed that the images on my screen (Acer LCD S200hl) appear to be less clear, even the wallpaper. As I type this, there seems to be holes in the image on the screen, as if the pixels are missing. Some letters look as if they are not completely filled. The only change is that I have reset Firefox.
Any help will be appreciated.Where there is an incompatibility between Firefox and your graphics driver, try to disable the use of Firefox hardware acceleration. You could have done this once before, but of course, reset turns it back.
the button Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) > Options > advanced
In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.
It will take effect after you exit and then restart Firefox. Any difference?

I ran Information.Reset Firefox troubleshooting and it created the file w8vtuqo8.default on my desktop. But I have now no Favorites to my original from many Web sites.

Installed Windows 7 Professional custom in the required form XP. All the favorites were lost in Firefox and had to reinstall Firefox.
Explorers has maintained the Favorite list, I had to explore - quite different from Firefox.
Check the programs created separately by 7 to include the XP file. Favorites, registration is not relevant to the list lost on Firefox reinstall.
Question: Is it possible that I can get back the original Favorites listing lost when the 7 install, or is it 'gone with the wind "?I have not read what is happening in an installation of XP to 7. You can find this file on your system:
C:\Windows.old
If so, you can find one of these:
- C:\Windows.old\Documents and Settings\your user name
- C:\Windows.old\Users\your username
If so, your old given Firefox might be in there. To explore more, it would be useful to set windows to display the hidden files and folders. This article has the steps: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files
Then search either:
- \Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profilesyour usernameC:\Windows.old\Documents and Settings\
- Your username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles C:\Windows.old\Users\
Here you can find one or several folders named random semi. Who has most recently updated content is probably the one you want to restore from.
Bookmarks only
Go down the old bookmarkbackups folder and copy the last two backups in a location such as the desktop.
The restore feature will replace the bookmarks in Firefox by default (and what you added since the reset) with all like bookmarks. If you want preserve newly added bookmarks, use the first, export function before the restore, then the import function later. The following articles have details:
- Restore bookmarks from a backup or move them to another computer - to access backups on the desktop, use the command 'Choose file' menu
- (Optional) Import bookmarks to an HTML file
Success?
Complete restoration
This post has my suggested procedure to resurrect your old wide profile in your new installation of Firefox. Please note the use of the copy instead of move throughout the process. This allows you to try again if it fails somewhere along the way.

Increase the grip on my firefox ("not responding" sometimes "the script is not responding"). Last night the mozilla would not respond to my email, so I opted to close the session. What a mistake. I lost all my email, some of them, business correspondence. Will I lose my Google account, e-mail and files written or my program Microsoft Word or Internet Explorer if I "reset"? I'll wait for a response before as I have "reset". Thank you for your service. Sincerely.
This support article describes what refresh: Refresh Firefox – reset settings and Add-ons.
But to answer your specific questions:
I'm going to lose my...
- Google account: No. If Firefox don't forget your Google password, you can log into your account and save it again.
- E-mail: No. your email is not stored in Firefox, it is either stored on the e-mail service provider's website or a separate e-mail program, or both.
- writing files: I'm not sure what this is. If you are using an add-on to create/save these files, then it is possible that the files will be gone after a refresh because the data associated with the modules are removed. However, if you have created these files in any other way, they should not be affected.
- Microsoft Word program: No.. A Firefox Refresh does not affect the Microsoft applications.
- Internet Explorer: No.. A Firefox Refresh does not affect the Microsoft applications.
I noticed that you mentioned a "Reset". Windows has a reset function. I'm only talking about Firefox built in refreshment and not resetting Windows.

I will lose Norto sure identity if I reset Firefox?
I hate reset Firefox, even if it's slow, that I trust my Norton safe so identity.
I just want to confirm that Iwill not loseStart Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

Note that your list of details of the system shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some preferences at each start of Firefox.
The user.js file appears only if you or another software created, therefore, normally, he wouldn't be here.
You can check its contents with a text editor if you do not create this file yourself. The user.js file is read whenever you launch Firefox and initializes the preferences to the value specified in this file, so set of preferences via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.
Delete a possible user.js file and files numbered prefs-# .js and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all default value, including the prefs prefs set via user.js
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
- Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)

I'll reset firefox because he's not going on the internet, if I reset will I lose pictures in my library? I've got carbonite, but I don't know if they are there. should I put them all on a first flash drive?
Firefox Reset affects only the information stored in Firefox (and most of that is recorded in any case). your photos are managed by windows, Firefox does not.
