If I restore the computer to an earlier date, it will restore my password expired?

I use Vista.  My main account on the computer (private) is also the administrator account.  The password has expired.  I saw a warning a week previously, but not once since and completely forgotten.  I can access the other user account, but not my main account Vista was preinstalled on the computer so I can't reinstall windows.  I thought to restore my computer to an earlier date (for example,), but do not know if that would restore my password expired or not.  Other solutions? Thanks for any help.  And Yes, once I return, I change the setting so that the password does not expire again or by using a password reset disk, all these nice options I foolishly ignored this time.  Thank you.

Hello

Microsoft prohibits any help given in these Forums for you help bypass or "crack" passwords lost or forgotten.

Here's information from Microsoft, explaining that the policy:

http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-security/keeping-passwords-secure-Microsoft-policy-on/39f56ef0-5d68-41AD-9daa-6e6019c25d37

And this is the Information from Microsoft on the problems of passwords;

You will need to borrow a Microsoft DVD from a friend, Recovery DVD a manufacturer without these special work options available.

If you are unable to connect to Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use the Windows Vista System Restore feature, or the Windows 7 system restore feature.

You may be unable to connect to Windows Vista or Windows 7 in the following scenarios:

  • Scenario 1: You recently set a new password for the protected administrator account. However, you don't remember the password.
  • Scenario 2: You type the correct password. However, Windows Vista or Windows 7 does not accept the password because the system is damaged.
  • Scenario 3: You delete a protected administrator account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.
  • Scenario 4: You change an administrator account protected with a standard user account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

You can re - install.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

See you soon.

This means that a different password was in effect at this point, even if your daughter thinks otherwise. There are a lot of options built into Windows to help you out of this situation:
    • Log on to your account admin to spare, and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you set up an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
    • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have taken the time to create such a key file).
    • Use the password indicator (only works if an indicator was created and if it's good enough to allow you to guess the password)
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)
The most important point would be: run a machine without a spare admin account is about as risky to have a house key. Sooner or later, he is at risk for any number of reasons.

  • Can restore the computer to an earlier date and now get on the desktop.

I went to use the computer yesterday and it updated. HP laptop with windows 8.1. Then it says update failed. Today I tried to restore to a different date and it failed. Today, I tried again and came back a month. I only have windows 8 and mechanic system on it. I use to connect remotely to work. Now, when I restart it goes to a system recovery option and I have no date to select.  He asks for recovery disk, but I did not. What are my options

I had a similar problem. I updated my computer to windows vista 7 and wanted to go back but could not not because vista wasn't a registered earlier version. Then I accidentally deleted my slui and rundll.exe and couldn't get them back because there was no previous version. Given that I have not configured a backup, I couldn't restore the computer to its previous versions or any folder.

The only way for you to restore is if you had implemented a backup and took the opportunity to finish the backup. The backup must be on an external drive, because when you configure a backup for PC, it requires an external backup. In my case, no backup copy has been implemented. If you remember where the backup was the installation, it is what she wants.

Since you say that there is no recovery disk, I would contact with via phone, Microsoft to see if you can return to windows 8, 8.1 No.

As an alternative, if you look at the underside of your laptop, or on the side of your PC, you will find the product code.

    Go to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/upgrade-product-key-only here.

Download the version of windows you had when the program is in place, insert the product key and just follow the instructions the site to make you say

  • Runtime error in Mozilla after restoring computer to an earlier date,

I recently had to restore my computer to an earlier date. In doing so, Firefox went from 38.0.1 to 37.0.2. Now, I get the error "cannot find Mozilla runtime. I am out, trying to find a way to fix it. I have quite a few bookmarks that I prefer not to lose. I thought I could import to Internet Explorer but not had any luck with either. Have no solution? Thank you. I am posting this on another computer where is the problem. This computer is running Windows 8.1.

Using the system restore can cause your installation of Firefox get corrupted because only the whitelist files are restored, so always be careful with the system restore function.

    • You may lose data in the profile Firefox as of .js and .ini files folder
    • You may need to reinstall the affected software

Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.

    • Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but do NOT delete personal data when you uninstall Firefox which removes all Firefox profile folders and you lose your data.

    Hello

Try the methods provided below and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

I suggest that you start the computer in safe mode with network and then try to download and run a full scan of the system using the Microsoft Safety Scanner.

    Note:

The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

This article describes how to use the System Restore tool to restore your computer to a previous state. System Restore takes a "snapshot" of critical system files and some program files and the registry settings and stores this information as restore points. If your computer is not working properly, you can use these points to return Windows XP to a previous state when your computer was working properly restore. It can also change scripts, batch files, and other types of executable files on your computer.

  • cannot restore my computer to an earlier date more

I recently had a dial-up Internet service and installed a cable modem service.  Now I can't restore my computer to an earlier date.  I tried to restore it several times and it keeps telling me that I can't restore to a previous point, although I use to.  I am at my wits end, help!  Thanks, Ron

Some security programs prevent changes to their file and must be configured to allow the restoration of the system work.  For example, if your computer has Norton Antivirus or Norton Internet Security, you must disable Norton product Tamper Protection before you run the system restore. Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  The first thing I would suggest running a virus scan.  Make sure you have no virus causing problems.  If you do not have an antivirus program, then you can download it free here: http://www.microsoft.com/Security_essentials/

If there is no virus or it still does not work after virus cleaning, then start in safe mode and test from there.  Here are the instructions for Safe Mode.

  • I accidentally restore my computer to an earlier date and I want to cancel that. How can I get this back to the present?

I have a Mac and my computer is partitioned for windows using parallels.  I've NEVER had a problem with Windows, but I had a blue screen and press reset and am now back to a 2008 version of my office.  How to return DOZENS of files missing now?  Can I restore back to my current point of view?  Please help me!  I have some a lot of data loss.

I don't know what it means 'I hit reset.

If you used Windows system restore, you can re-run the system restore and select "Undo my last restoration."

If you did something else - and return to a 2008 version of your desktop sounds as you did - then the answer is that your data is probably missing.

You should probably ask Parallels support or in a Mac forum.
