If I switch to Capitan I lose all browser windows, I have open?

It may not seem like much, but I like 40 open and they are all important to me.

* look no not of judgment about how messy I am, I know :). -

No, you shouldn't. But the safe thing to do before any update is to ensure that you have a time machine current backup.

Do I lose all the iMessages that have not been delivered to my iphone if I withdraw (from iMessage) my phone number? My current iphone is broken and I am planing to get a new one in a few months.

You may lose everything.  iMessage, like most e-mail services, don't keep permanently undeliverable messages.  They only keep in the short period send queue (I don't know exactly how much time but some Apple tech sites indicate no more than 10 days to two weeks) until they are purged.  That's pretty standard as otherwise, large volume, messaging services would be sitting on tera-bytes of messages not delivered each month.

You actually have to change my phone number?  If not, let alone sign and only in iMessage when you have the new phone with this set of numbers upward to the service.

  • Not all my windows want to open

  • How can I close a Web site without closing all other sites, I have open?

I often have several site windows open while I pass my emails and go to the articles. When I click on the red circle to close this window, a message says that I am about to close numerous windows, how ever I opened. How can I simply close the single window without closing all others? Thank you.

    Hi dsluther,

When you have multiple sites open at the same time, we call these "tabs".

You should see all your tabs lined up near the top of the Firefox window, between the forward/backward buttons and the web page itself. To close a single tab, just need you to click on the 'X' icon on the tab itself, instead of the Red 'X' icon in the title bar of FIrefox.

This article contains additional information on what the tabs are, how they work and how to manage and close them:
Use the tabs to organize a lot of Web sites in a single window

    I hope it's useful.

  • How can I return to my start page without scrolling through all the links I have open?

In previous versions of Ff, I could go to a menu drop down and go back to my original home page (or another that I had opened) without having to scroll through all the links open back. I can't find a way to do it in 4.0.

You can get the menu drop-down by clicking on the previous/next buttons or now the left key pressed until the list is displayed.

If you want the drop-down arrow, you can add it with the add-on of dropmarker rear - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker

  • I didn't want tabs at all, just windows. I have vs 39.0

I want my firefox works as before. I don't want the tabs. The way it works now, is of all Web pages seem to go into an icon at the bottom. If I try to minimize a window, it does not return to the previous window, it goes to my desktop. VERY FRUSTRATING. I want to see all the Windows I have open, distributed along my bar tasks. If there is no solution for this, I'll Safari as I saw suggested elsewhere. Or another solution would be to go to an older version of Firefox that always worked normally.
    Thank you

As test, could you open two new windows, a regular (Ctrl + n) one private (Ctrl + Shift + p) and describe how the taskbar display changes? Do you get the additional graphics next to the Firefox button simulating a "stack" of buttons? That's what I think that you normally get.

If the problem is that you want different buttons rather than a stack, the Windows taskbar has a setting for it. Right-click the taskbar, click Properties, and then change buttons setting to never combine. (Screen attached)

Firefox can also show each tab in the taskbar, but if you try to avoid using tabs, which is probably not relevant. For future reference, it's the setting here:

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > general

Downstairs, 'Show previews tab in the Windows task bar.

  • If I reinstall my xp/sp2 and then download the sp3 I'll lose all my programs on my computer / hard drive?

    If I reinstall

If you reinstall XP you will lose all the programs you have installed CD/DVD and the ones you have downloaded. You won't lose any programs that are on the XP CD. SP3 has nothing to do with reinstalling XP or any loss of programs. As you know install from CD/DVD is pretty easy and so is downloading.

  • I have Firefox Home installed on my iPhone. It has all my windows open and bookmarks. I have a new desktop computer. How can I transfer?

I don't want to lose all my windows open and bookmarks!

Home of Firefox using Firefox Sync and as I said, you cannot transfer the iPhone on the desktop, it's 1-way. You can transfer your data from your old computer to the new, but not the iPhone to the desktop. Firefox home is yet to be put to the point or more supported.

  • Do all the windows display diagonally across the office at the same time.

Yesterday, I was messing around with my computer. And using the mouse pad, I think that I don't know really, but I did somehow to where he showed all the Windows I had open at the time. It was such a cool feature, and they were all diagonals. and I could move my mouse over them and select a window. Once I have selected the window, I didn't know how to get back up? Nobody knows how to get to where all programs will display diagonal as different pages both on the desktop? Or is it as a feature that only comes with Asus?

    Hi Zuleika E.,.

Use the Windows key + Tab to cycle through your open windows.

MacBook Pro (retina, 15 inches, beginning 2013) El Capitan 10.11.3, Simple question here: I can't open FinalCut Express (4, I believe). The wheel turns for hours. How can I install/uninstall and will I lose all my old films (for the most part stored on external hard drives). Thanks for your suggestions.

You will not lose anything, but the app if you uninstall. If you decide to uninstall use this app to make sure that all the other files which depends on FCE are also deleted however I can't give you any assurance as to whether you will be able to reinstall so that it works correctly. It is a software that has not been supported for almost 5 years and there are conflicting reports as to its compatibility with OS X 10.11. Can't I test it myself.

Maybe someone else will chime in with their own experiences.

  • Switching to Comcast Earthlink messages. Will I lose all my emails when I change or is there a way to transfer?

Currently my Internet provider is Earthlink and I saved emails from people and stored in different folders in Outlook Express. I will be changed to Comcast... will I lose all e-mail messages once I've made the switch to Comcast?

Second question... the address book that is currently in Outlook Express, it will be still be here after I'm going to Comcast?

Thank you all - appreciate the help!
original title: Outlook Express need help please

Nothing will change about your address book or messages currently downloaded when you switch. That said, there are a number of reasons, you may lose data and so it's a good idea to backup OE regularly. Here are a few options.

    Restore backup &

  • I tried to download macOS Sierra for the last hours on my Mac, but it is still holding still to download. Should I download the El Capitan instead? All sites tell me that I should update my Safari.

I tried to download macOS Sierra on my macbook pro iOS 10 for a few hours and it still has several hours to go. Should I just download the Capitan instead? All sites tell me that I should update my Safari or I wouldn't even through this disorder.

You must complete the download of Sierra. It is a very large file and will take some time, especially on a slow Internet connection.
