If I type a URL in an e-mail message, why don't the recipient click it and go directly to the site in question?

It works very well in Internet Explorer and Google Chrome, but Firefox, to cut and paste the link into their browser...

Just above the text box that allows you to enter the text of the message, there usually a bar of buttons with buttons to add updated text in shape like the bold and italic.

This toolbar can also have a button to activate a clickable hyperlink text link (look for a string like button).

You can select the text and click on this button to activate the link into a clickable hyperlink.

If you can not find the button, and then move all the to check the ToolTip of each.

  • A url in an e-mail message opens in the firefox window and then open a new (replacing the original window.

Using Safari, when I click on a url in an e-mail message, it opens in a new window. Using Firefox, clicking on a url in an email replces the firefox window opened by a new one. I want that they open both.

Is the email in Firefox and this page is accessing the linked page, or is the e-mail message in a separate program, and it launches the URL in the last active window of Firefox?

If the problem is an external link, you can check your settings for the following preference:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the filter box, type or paste link.open and make a pause so that the list is filtered. Then look for that and if its value is not 2, change it to 2.

    Browser.Link.open_newwindow.override.external

-1 = open_newwindow applies to external links (default)

3 = open external links in a new tab

2 = open external links in a new window

1 = open external links in the active tab

Edit: Probably a good idea to check this one, too, and set it to 2 or 3, as you prefer.

    Browser.Link.open_newwindow

3 = divert new window into a new tab (by default) (checked *)

2 = allow the link to open a new window (uncontrolled *)

1 = new power window in the same tab

    * First check box in the Options > tabs (on Mac, preferences > tabs)

  • Why don't the 'fn' key let me type F1, F2, etc. ?

I have a Bluetooth wireless keyboard Apple 'Magic' with the 'fn' down key on the left.

Regardless of whether or not "fn" is pressed, I always get the behavior indicated by the picture on the key.

For example, if I press 'fn', then F3 at the same time, I always get the Mission control anything and everything my application is supposed to do when I press F3.

I remember the 'fn' key works as expected in earlier versions of the operating system. Anyone else seen the same problem?

Nevermind, I realized it is because of the USB Overdrive. I didn't know that this 3rd party software is to manage the connection to my keyboard (in addition to my mouse). I guess it does that by default. Anyway, when I disabled USB Overdrive it, the 'fn' key started work as expected again. I would still recommend USB Overdrive. I use it to activate the button 'back' on my mouse.

  • Firefox continues to change url in the address bar, even when I type a url full. How can I force my search?

Dealing with the same companies daily, weekly, or on a very regular basis. When I get a new business account or a customer, I try to remember to delete erroneous results in the address bar. I hit the full url (.com) in the address bar, but Firefox forces of memory (or history) and the only way I can get where I'm going is to type the address from a search engine.

I have everything: completion of the configged, but that didn't work. I also tried autofill.typed, but that has not worked. I tried to change tools > address bar, but the choices are not good. I almost never search bookmarks and my story is too often used to remove. (It seems counterproductive). How can I stop Firefox forcing me to go places I want to go?

It looks like - in the sense to remember shit that I can't remember - and to do my research much more difficult.
I had problems - particularly in Amazonia. I wrote a couple of times. Nobody has ever gotten back me on why FIREFOX has so many problems. If I get answers here, how can I get answers? I don't want to use IE and I don't want to have to avoid certain websites because results suck. I'm in limbo until solutions are found.

    Thank you.

I don't know if the problem is that Firefox itself changes the address you type in the address bar, or if the site is immediately Firefox redirection to another page when trying to access the address you specified.

For example, 1 & 1 Webmail currently redirects to this site for login: https://webmailcluster.perfora.net/

  • I got the new version 8.0 of firefox today and now when I put a new URL in a tab open or type a URL in a new tab, nothing DON'T get PAST! Help!

Since I installed version 8.0 of Firefox earlier today, I was unable to get new Web pages by typing in their URLs. If I click on a link in a tab that was opened before the installation (and was called by restoring the Session after I installed the new version) - say in one of my messages in the Hotmail or one with another showing - Web page tab all right and I go to the new page. Even if I click the back arrow: I can go back and forwards to pages that have already been opened in the previous session.

However, if I type a URL to a new site in the address bar, OR open a new tab and enter a URL here... When I press the Enter key sometimes NOTHING AT ALL. Same thing if I click on the thumb to the new address arrow that appears to the right of the location bar - nothing. This has happened over and over again.

What is going on? If I use IE, everything works very well, there must be something in Firefox. I need to just go back to the previous version of Firefox I had before this last update? As it is now, I can't go to all the pages that I haven't looked in my session restored, which is not only frustrating but makes Firefox pretty useless for future use. Alternatively, if it is another problem, any ideas on what and how to fix it? Thank you.

Time for a bit of troubleshooting.

Try Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.

A way of solving problems, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open the Firefox 4, 5, 6, 7 SafeMode pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.

Do not choose anything at the moment, just use 'continue in safe mode.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox (without the Shift key) to open it again.

If it's good in Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one.

  • I can't stop firefox opening a new tab when I type a URL in the address bar.

I have the ability to open windows into tabs and I love it. My problem is when I type a URL in the address bar, rather than load him on this page, it opens a new page. No matter what type of page I made this. When I CTRL + T to open a TAB, and then type in the address bar and it opens a new tab the TAB Leaving previous, I opened intact. I would like to just so that it loads the page on that I entered.

You have this problem when running in Firefox SafeMode?
    A troubleshooting mode.

You can open the Firefox 4.0 SafeMode pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu. Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox to open it again.

  • How to link URL I type in Yahoo email to work as it does in Internet Explorer so that people can click on it to go to the site?

I recently downloaded Firefox, but I'm used to use IE. When I type an email using my Yahoo account, if I type a URL changes in binding so that you can click to go to the site. When I type a URL when you use Firefox it doesn't have a link. Is there a setting that I can change so it will do that?

You can check the toolbar above the text box where you enter the text to see if there is a button to create clickable hyperlinks. Usually, you can select the link with the mouse and click this button to change in a hyper link.

  • How to type a URL or a link without make it live (blue type)

Several times during the writing of text, it is necessary to type a URL, but it is not executable. link

It really depends on what program you type.  Many times you have no control over this and you somehow obfuscate the link to prevent it from turning into a hyperlink.  For example, you can type www. Microsoft.com and who will not be turned into a hyperlink, while www.microsoft.com is automatically set to 1, so when they are generated automatically, you will need to break them in some way to prevent it.

Otherwise, use a text editor that does not generate any automatically, such as Notepad.

    Hello

I suggest you sign upward to Google Webmaster tools (free) and check your site (directions are in the webmaster tools) and

also consider joining Google analytic (also free).  Analytical will allow you to 'see' who is visiting your site and how they experience through research, order the seizure of the URL, or through the links, etc.  Also from where they come, how much per day, etc.  Lots of good information.
