  I have a Satellite Pro L40 PSL4BE and have just upgraded to Windows 7. Since the upgrade I can no longer use the function key and the top and down arrows to control the volume. Keys F6 F7 & still control the brightness so I don't know the function key still works.

  Anyone know if it is a driver problem or nobody knows how to solve this problem?

  You need to install the package of value added for Satellite Pro L40. This package contains all the necessary drivers for the FN keys. Then please install or update VAP if you have already installed an earlier version.

  You upgrade form win7 for another "version" of windows 7. Thus, all programs will suffer anyway. More during the upgrade, the installer would say the compatibility of all programs.

  Just a proactive advice to throw out there during the upgrade to Windows 8 drivers.

  To make a successful transition, you may want to uninstall the drivers for windows 7 because the printer first before you run the PIW (Printer Setup Wizard) and install drivers for the printer to Windows 8. Make uninstall through programs and features in Control Panel.  This will save a lot of hassle and time on the road.  Here is a link to the PIW as well.

  OK here it goes. My friend had a HP, HD sound disappeared I can't even a dir to go up above. I put the recovery disk, they sent him to HP and just, he goes back to restart it then comes up with an error. I tried the Seagate Software and the HD has disappeared. Initially, it came with Windows Vista with a free upgrade to windows 7. I thought about putting another HD I got here which is windows vista, but the restore disc shows the Vista so it does not work.

  If I put a new HD in, I use Vista disk, I think for his healing? The problem is how to move to windows 7? I have a copy of the upgrad to mine, although it is only 32-bit. This system is 64. It is out of warranty.

  I've recently updated WIndows Vista with Microsoft updates. After the reboot, the fonts on most of the pages in Firefox and my word processing program, (StarOffice not MS Word), light, incomplete, appearance part of the letter low while the rest is dark.
