Illustrated with icons CS5.5 InDesign CS6 files

I recently installed CS6, I found myself with a lot of icon and extension problems, so I uninstalled CS6, ran Adobe Script cleaner and reinstalled. Everything is now in order except for one thing. The .indd files shows the CS5.5 instead of the CS6 icon. The standard program is set to InDesign CS6 (D:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS6\InDesign.exe). I also checked the registry and everything is in order.

Open the file results in CS6 commissioning. So I don't know what is happening... But it's pretty boring, I just want everything to be in order. I even tried to download third party software like "FileTypesMan", does not. Does anyone know a clever work-around?

Notice the screenshot below, the program is set to CS6, the icon in the lower right corner is set to 5.5

Thanks in advance!

It seems to have fixed itself, I don't know how or why. But when a miracle happens we don't ask questions. ;-)

  • Cs6 InDesign does not open InDesign cs6 file? says he's got cs7... but it is not

I'm working on a HUGE project for a few years (fault of customer, months between changes on their part) and I just got a huge amount of changes I want to start working. When I go to open the Indesign file, it won't open! I get the error 'cannot open 'file name.indd' because she has been saved with a newer version of Adobe InDesign (CS7.0). You must use this version or later to open the file. To then allow him to open up in this version, click Save as InDesign CS4 or later version, or exporting to IDML. »

The thing is, I don't have CS7 or CC, I never have. Only worked on this file on a computer. When I click on the file in the Finder, it mentions it as CS6, just like older versions of the file (previous incarnations of the project, changes, etc.).

What the heck! I'm on a Macbook Pro running Mavricks suite CS6 full, and everything was peachy until now. Absolutely not saving the file in CC or CS7 and is itself classified CS6 (in the finder info as I mentioned before)...

Anyone has any ideas on this? I'd like to get operational and get this project going again.

    Help, please!

Someone had CC (maybe a trial) and saved files... Still, it is said in the finder doesn't mean anything - the operating system knows only the latest version currently installed.

  • Could corrupt InDesign CS6 files be planting my iMac?

I have by mistake upgraded to El Capitan, while using CS6, and it caused problems since. My iMac would be cut and then turn again, turn off, suite... repeatedly. Apple and I did a lot of troubleshooting before I checked the compatibility and realized CS6 and El Capitan are incompatible. Duh!

I erased from my hard drive and reinstalled my old OS, 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and then used my saved .dmg since when I bought CS6 years ago and resettled. The computer always crushed.

I then downloaded new files from Adobe and ran to InDesign and Photoshop, sometimes all day yesterday and it was fine. Today, I was once again, the two, but in USING Photoshop running when it crashed again. When it crashes, the screen goes gray white and it takes several tries in Recovery Mode or Cmd Option PR to get it back in service again.

If I am to the old OS and files installed in new ONES from Adobe, I don't understand why it always crashes. I was wondering if anyone else has had similar problems?

Apple ran the diagnostics on the computer last week and they said that the material was normal, so there must be software I'm running.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Everything Apple say looks like a hardware failure. If they say that it is the application software you their ignorance is alarming. A key point of Mac OS is that an application cannot crash the system. So, if an application does not seem to cause this, the system or equipment is defective. Note that the selected as system boards and video as the hardware device drivers. I have a Mac where the video card is faulty and blocking the Mac when you run too.

Perhaps you might do a third as well, but in case you have another software that can display a vector file then it might be easier to create the data in one Office application, and then save it to PDF format for further editing in Illustrator.

  • InDesign Cs6 running really slow!

I edit, create and produce manuals for a company that gave me training on Indesign! I use Indesing Cs6 Manual of already produced edition and slowly started to create my own. The company has an external company, who had started working on a new project until I'm relevant. They use Indesign CC, the guy also creates books in book form. He sends me the files and a file IDML which allows me to convert what he sent in the version of Indesign (CS6) that I use. Everything is perfect!

As I begin to edit these newly produced manuals I have problems with the program... It turns very slowly especially when typing or importing images.

I move the files from the server to the external company has access too.

Put it on the server I work for.

Open my Office Cs6 and create a book

I then save the book in the same folder on the server, I moved the files too

I open all IDML files individually and then save it in the same folder as an Indesign Cs6 file.

I then open the book and add the necessary files in the book.

    Can I save.

They are the steps I take before I start editing the files, with open book, I tend to change the sections individually, unless I'm updating of the cross - references.

I'm not sure if there is something I am doing wrong or if there is a certain set/format should I change. I'm not very computer Tech companys guy seems to think that this is an error with the program rather than my computer as he checked and inserted also more memory.

    HELP PLEASE!

Do a save pennies on each of the files to erase old data from change. If there is between documents cross-reference ID open constantly files and close them while you work unless you keep all the files in the book open again.

All your windows updates are installed?  Try to clean the Windows thumbnail species.  I think use Adobe the OS dialog for features like open file. Also, to get thumbnails for RAW file PSD files, you will need to install codecs in windows. I use the fastepictureviewer codec package. What version of Windows are you using the dialog box look like a windows problem.

  • Mask with a transparent visor Photoshop CS6 giving rise to problems saved as Tiff RGB and placed in Indesign CS5

Is anyone aware of a black halo around objects of transparent feathers. The halo occurs when the area full of pic feathers to transparency.

NOTE: The Image looks fine in Photoshop (CS6), but when it is placed as a TIFF RGB in Indesign (CS5) a black halo appears on the page. See Visual explanation below.

    Example.jpg

This only happens when the image is a RGB Tiff and the layer mask is used to create transparency. If the image is saved as .psd, then it's fine. Also when tiff RGB is converted to CMYK, then it is ok.

I look forward to suggestions from anyone.

Ideally I might just start using the psd format, but I have to manage a lot of images that are already in tiff RGB and it's tedious to have to open and re-save all these.

Adobe Photoshop CS5 RGB TIFF still work correctly.

Tried your image. Same results. Halo in CS5, CS5.5 or CS6 none.

  • CS6 files run in CS5/5.5

Just buy CS6 Design & Web Premium package at school for my home office. We have CS5 classroom (it might actually be 5.5, not sure) and I wonder if I'll be able to run my CS6 Photoshop and Dreamweaver files there.

Someone wrote the following online and I was wondering if it is fairly accurate. If Yes, awesome:

    ---

" OK so here's how it works.  Your new CS6 tools will be able to open all the previous files without problem (including CS5 and CS5.5 files), without loss of information.

Goes in the direction of another, when you use CS5 to open a file from an application CS6, it depends...

In Photoshop, it is almost never a problem like the. PSD format is compatible enough.  To do this, make sure that the option "maximize compatibility of PSD files" is defined.

In Illustrator, when you save a file it asks you which version you want to save as.  Instead of CS6, you can choose a "Legacy" Format as Illustrator CS5, but be aware that you may lose some of the latest features and attributes when the document is read back in the previous version.

With InDesign, it is impossible to "downsave" such a project in Illustrator.  However, you can export your document as IDML (InDesign Markup Language).  IDML files can be read in older versions like InDesign CS5.5, CS5 or CS4 - but again once there is the potential of new features that are not supported in earlier versions of lose.

    Bonus answers:

In Flash Professional, you can Save the FLA or XFL format for CS5.5 or CS5, although you may lose some of the new features.

There is not an official backup-back-to-old-version option in Premiere Pro (and it isn't technically supported) but some customers report good enough success, making anyway.

With After Effects , you can Save a copy as CS5.5, even once with the caveat that transfer of the new features in CS6.

Then, which pretty much sums up to the top and she can be useful - if you have other questions, just post back! "

    Thanks in advance,

Today, I noticed that it is also effective and 'safe for CS5' to disable the CS6 race by setting its type "without color" - white with a red diagonal line.

This seemed to be a dangerous alternative to zero weight before the 13.0.1 update. Maybe he was sure and I was wrong, however.

    Anyway, you have the choice:

set the weight of the race to zero, or

    line type Set "UN-color."

  • Saving files CS5.5 using CS6

    Hey there,

I just installed CS6 and I run into the same problem that I did when I upgraded to 5.5 at the time. I am running in 3 problems.

    1. the files that I created using CS5.5, are not automatically recognized as CS6 files. For example, a file InDesign 5.5 has a white icon "note". When I force the file to open with InDesign 6 by default, the icon changes to a white note with a small icon of InDesign in it, instead of a full CS6 icon:

    Save As.jpg

2 but this isn't the most annoying thing. When I open a file CS5.5 in CS6, it doesn't remember its location. So when I save it, it treats the file as a file and I have to navigate my production structure to find the location of the original file and that crushes. He scored as [convert] in the name of the file when I open it. Maybe that has something to do with it?

    PrtScr capture.jpg

I just noticed that it does the same thing with my Photoshop files.

    3. I also noticed that, even though I uninstalled 5.5 after installing 6, that the old 5.5 files are always in the Adobe folder. That this has something to do with it, maybe?

Do you have a solution or that perhaps?

    Thank you!

    Janet

I have it! So, if you have a problem icon, just uninstall, then reinstall CS5.5 en after that, install CS6. Then the question of the icon must be resolved.

  • Spot color in the file Illustrator does not appear in InDesign in the Swatches palette or the ink Manager.

I've seen a lot of questions about spot, but I have yet to see of it. I have a file in illustrator with a spot inside. When I do sub to any new file InDesign color task appears as it should. But we have an old file that has probably been on worked great in the past, and in this file, it appears anywhere I looked in ink under the PES Preview Panel, the swatches Panel Manager, and nowhere this color appears. A that someone already had this problem? Are there other options, that I thought I could try? Is it just a corrupt InDesign file? All this is in fact the CS6.

    Thanks in advance.

Or there is a process color with the same name in the InDesign document.

  • Cannot open the .indd files in InDesign CS6

I use InDesign CS6 (cloud version) on Windows XP. I can only open the .indd files by opening InDesign CS6, do file > open, and then browse to the file.

If I try to go to the folder where the .indd file is located (without opening InDesign CS6) and double-click it, he acts like he doesn't know what kinf of the file it is.

A co-worker of mine knows the same thing on Windows 7.

Does anyone have suggestions on what to try to fix this problem?

    Thanks in advance!

Uninstall, run the cleanup tool (CS for installation problems cleaning tool |) CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3) and reinstall. The symptoms you describe are typical if the icon Manager .dll file is damaged.

Try to disable your antivirus and spyware scanners and anthing else not required to operate the system before reinstalling.
