  Try to cut your image in two and save them separately. Use the canvas size, define a dimension of 50%, then save as xxx. DO NOT CLOSE THE FILE! Then, in your history panel step back a step to where you have the whole image, now do the same "canvas size/save under ' for the other half of the image. This should give you two images that can be assembled quite easily once you have your system back to the height. You should look in to second disc scratching in the 500 + range. they are cheap compared to losing a great masterpiece of a lack of free space.

  I recently picked up Illustrator CS5, and while this year's model, of course, is beautiful, I'm having a problem when I save a file (or print) in PostScript format. My goal is to convert the file to PDF using Distiller and in the print dialog box, the domain PPD in previous versions said something along the lines of Adobe PDF 8.0. In CS5, I don't have the option to select the PPD drop (I can't find the file you want to add to the list). In addition, I can't do a 'pdf size custom,' only predefined paper sizes. I had to resort to opening my files in CS3 to convert them into PostScript files. I foresee it becoming a problem, once I have start diving into some of the new features in Photoshop CS5.

  I feel that the program has not been installed with a plugin Adobe PDF and I can't seem to find a substitute online which is not 1999 (!). Is there a way to get this plugin file that is using my copy of CS3 in my CS5?

  I'm on a Mac by the way, version 10.6.

  This problem is actually caused by Snow Leopard. The problem is that a new feature of security introduced in 10.6 will not allow the printer PDF work, so you can no longer write a postscript file using the print function.   Looks like you did a system rather than a system restore recovery.  If you have inserted a disc supplied with your machine and booted from it, you probably erased the disc and installed the original operating system provided with your computer.  Usually, a step in this recovery is to do a full format or quick of your drive.  If you did a full format, your data is permanently lost.  With a quick format, your data may still be there, somewhere but inaccessible by normal means.  Applications must generally be installed, in order to recover the files probably will not help unless you have the original installation media.  Your other data files (images, videos, financial data) may be salvageable, but at this point, it would be advisable to take your computer or your disk to a business/professional who is experienced with data disc recovery.  It will be cheap and there is no guarantee.

  Impatient, remember investigate you a backup strategy for your computer and critical data.  Hard drives can go wrong with little or no warning.
