  I use my edition of Adobe Creative Suite CS3 student for awhile now as well on an old mac and my new. Everything worked great until I upgraded to when you are prompted. The update seems to have a problem with Illustrator and after some time he jumped on the rest updates. Now when I try to open Illustrator it crashes right after that the option button 'open recent' and ' create new ' is displayed. I tried to run the software update to see if I could get the update to load correctly but it doesn't seem to be there.

  I downloaded a patch from the Adobe Support updated for illustrator and allowed me to open it. However, when I start the program, I lose my desktop settings and my experience goes blue. I know it's a minor problem, but is there a way of fixing?

  Microsoft Office regularly crashes when you perform a save as to any place of the network off the internal hard drives on my laptop. The version is 14.0.6112.5000 (64-bit).

  The question seems to relate to a problem with the Windows Explorer, I find that if I first open the folder by browing through Windows Explorer crash is much less likely to occur. It is not always, but usually after the 4th or 5th attempt I can save the document. Once I made the first save as a new document, I didn't backup after problems.

  This happens only with the Office suite of products - I have no similar problems with third-party programs.

  What is happening is the Save dialog box under opens, but when I try to navigate through the program crashes. I can usually (but not 100% of the time) scroll to reach readers intgernal, but almost always crashes when you try to reach the network mapped drives unless I have already sailed on these places by car outside the word.

  It is a relatively new problem. I did a clean install of Windows 7 (x 64) on my laptop in November 2011, everything was fine until April. My thought is that a .dll file is corrupt, or there could be a problem of accidentally unplugging a smartphone or Tablet without ejecting it first.

  Suggestions are greatly appreciated, I really don't want to go through the hassle to do a clean install and then restore all my programs again.

  I think that the first thing would be to try a repair.
  Start > Control Panel > programs and features > click on your Office installation > click Change > repair

  You must set a default printer that is always available and of course compatible. So, Yes, use Adobe PDF printer.

  Well, my last computer was destroyed when the son of a friend seeps water so I am rocking a brand new Macbook Pro. Unfortunately, this means that I have to use Yosemite.   Install the MacOS 10.10.1 update to fix the crash bugs generalized in the open and save dialog boxes.

  And make sure you have the plugin WhiteWindowWorkaround installed in CS6 (no not necessary in 2014 CC) to work around some of the well-known MacOS issues.

  The following is a general list of things you can try when the question is not in a specific file (you tried/made some of them already). 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically preferences might be corrupt); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

  (1) close Illy and open again.

  (2) restart the computer (you can do that up to 3 times);

  (3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

  4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);

  5 look through and try the relevant among the other options (click on the link with that name, item 7) is a list of the usual suspects among other applications which can disturb and confuse Illy, point 15) applies to the maybe CS5, CS6 and CC);

  Even worse, you can:

  (6) uninstall, run the vacuum cleaner tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and then reinstall.

  We have big problems with our illustrator cs5.1 on windows 7 since today.

  For some reason, it started crashing when you want to record new and existing files...

  If we open a document existing in cmyk color mode and just text or shapes etc. in the file it will record it as normal, but it will break trying to save if we whatever it is placed in the file as a jpeg file, and it will also crash if we changed the mode to RGB color.

  We have tried everything we can think OFF... remove configuration illustrator files... Uninstall and reinstall... even with the cleanup tool on adobe...

  any ideas?

  You possibly updated your graphics driver or Adobe AIR / Flash Player and is playing with the sincxe of things UI components are related to this...   Finally I just made a new doc with the same characteristics, which took about 60 seconds, cut and pasted the content by propagation. 64 pages, it's 33 cut blocks. Each 16 pages or so I exported IDML, until it crashed, and I thought that it was page 60, so I divorced from objects on this page, images of reset to allow text on top, and it was fine.

  It's a document originally created in 1998 in QuarkXpress, translated by Q2ID and content and design redesigned last year, so I guess that a gremlin cruft is not something to really complain. I was pleasantly surprised to see that cut and paste sheets imported style and properly linked images (nice work Adobe!).

  I just upgraded to Yosemite on my Macbook 2010 pro.  Everything seems to work great except Adobe Illustrator CS3.  The rest of the suite Adobe creative works great - photoshop, Indesign etc but not illustrator.  When I launched the application after the upgrade, I was asked to install a Java Update I did, I raised then Illustrator, he opened the window initialization and looked like it was going to work but it froze and I had to force quit.  Now, it is not passed the window initialization and does not open.  I cleaned the cache of police and I started my mac in safe mode, illustrator works in this mode, but when I start again as usual it still does not work here.  I tried to find that the users preferences file, so I can remove it, but I can't find this file and not really sure if this is what I have to do to get it working anyway!  Unfortunately I do not have installation disks therefore am not able to uninstall and reinstall the Suite.  If anyone can give me help I would be very grateful!  Earlier, I am very frustrated and wish that I had never updated!  Thank you in advance and thank you for taking the time to read my thread.

  I also had problems with Adobe Illustrator CS3 and Yosemite. After the upgrade, I installed Java for OS X 2014-001, as suggested by others. It seemed to work (sometimes), but when I opened Illustrator for the 2nd time it could not open. Illustrator open without crashing, but she has not shown all the menus, if I open a .ai file file is load and display on the screen, but I couldn't click on the window (not responding). This essentially useless Illustrator. I tried the following:

  Recently, I installed my CS5 Design Premium on a new laptop (Fujitsu Lifebook AH351) and I have serious problems with Photoshop CS5. On the first run, everything was fine, and he keep like this for a while. Now every time I try to edit a layer style Photoshop crashes immediately. I did not need to change anything, just open the layer style, press OK and Photoshop has disappeared. I can work around by resetting the preferences that works until the next reboot, no matter if I change anything on the settings or not. Tried this on the initial version of the PS and the last update (12.0.4). Once I have reset settings yet, I can work again on the layer styles.   The Lifebook has of a decent feature which I think somehow the culprit in this case: it has an on-board graphics unit and a separate GPU (nVidia GForce GT 525 M) that can be added in on a program basis. Indeed, Photoshop recognizes and allows me to enable the OpenGL functions as well, so from there, it seems. The internal GPU cannot be disabled because connect you your monitors.

  WindowBlinds was probably to blame.  It's a bad app that changes the window settings and made generally bad things for the environment of the user interface to achieve a different look.

  There may be more options for things you can do (bad) to Windows, such as the screws of the metric of the display with the software from StarDock, simply because Windows is more popular - but if you don't about frivolous things with your system it can be as clean and steady work as a Mac system , if not better.  Mac have many of their own problems.
