I think that it was updated to CS5.5 during that period but I have no file to install CS5.5,

  To add to this, in case your trash folder settings and happens again, you have right or control click on the folder of the settings in the preferences and select Get Info and search for property and permissions and you can change it there to read/write.

  This problem is actually caused by Snow Leopard. The problem is that a new feature of security introduced in 10.6 will not allow the printer PDF work, so you can no longer write a postscript file using the print function.
