Illustrator saves a blank PDF file with information on the missing content

I use Illustrator CS6 on OS X 10.8. Yesterday, I noticed that my PDFs out as files empty with the text

It is a file Adobe® Illustrator® which have been saved without PDF content.
Instead or open this file in other applications, it should be re-recorded in Adobe Illustrator with the option 'Create PDF Compatible file' lit. This option is in the dialog box Options of Format native Illustrator, which appears when you save an Adobe Illustrator file by using the Save as command.

which is in fact a description that usually appears in the files saved without PDF compatibility. It is not document-wise but rather application-wise question because sometimes, even if I create a new Document, draw something in the middle of the canvas and save it. Also, all of my existing documents which record well before, do so now. Basically, I can't successfully save a single PDF file. But it seems that the exported documents must contain the data because they have different sizes depending on the content.

There is no problem with the backup to format I. I hope this is enough information for someone smart to diagnose this problem because I am starting to be desperate

You have an idea? Thank you.

Oh, my friend just advised me to clear the cache and it worked! :-) I deleted files ~/Library/Caches/com.adobe.Illustrator and ~/Library/Saved ask State/com.adobe.Illustrator.savedState and one of them went around :-)

    I have a .pdf file saved with text created by the typewriter tool. When I import the .pdf in InDesign (I use CS4), typewriter text disappears in the InDesign document. I can't find any preferences or settings in Acrobat or InDesign which solves this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Yes, it absolutely to degrade the quality of the placed PDF!

    Re-create the PDF file by distilling the PDF PostScript flattens transparency all and converts the colors (that's another flattening as the flattening of the annotations and form fields). It's a lossy operation that gives results of lower quality including seams of transparency, color issues problems and potential problems of fonts.

    There is another way, a bit simpler flatten annotations and form fields in Acrobat Pro using the preflight check mechanism. Use the profile of correction flatten annotations and form fields upstream! This works without any Javascript or other changes in the PDF file.

  • Scripting 'Save PSD to PDF with password security' and 'Open a PDF file with password security' issue.

    Hello!

    I am now building an extension for Photoshop. The script (jsx) should save the document as Photoshop PDF secured with a password. The IPL is the same all the time and is defined in the script. Then, the script is to open the PDF file with that same password. I need this to protect the PDF of the opening by a user, so that only the script has access to the file.

    I googled a lot. I saw a similar topic on this community date in 2012. He did not respond. With one comment saying that savings with a password appears to be possible via GUI and not a script.

    Nothing has changed since 2012?

    P.S. .requireDocumentPassword and Illustrator .documentPassword do not work in PS and ScriptListener gives still nothing :-/

    ScriptListener always gives nothing

    Which probably means the task is not (yet) possible to achieve with Photoshop scripts.

  • I'm trying to create a PDF file with several signature lines in that anyone can "Sign" by using their digital signature CAC (Common Access Card) active. The goal is to have a single document that people can open, sign on a designated line and save the doc

    I'm trying to create a PDF file with several signature lines in that anyone can "Sign" by using their digital signature CAC (Common Access Card) active. The goal is to have a single document that people can open, sign on a designated line and save the document (replacing the existing document) and close. Then another person can open the same document digitally sign another area of the form, save it, and close it. So on, and so on. Is there a way to do this? At the end of the day, I would end up with a PDF file with literally hundreds of signatures to enable different ACC everywhere...

    I don't understand what the problem is. In the post of the davidr96549424 on May 8, 2015 07:58 you presented a structure of a correct document. Is the issue of the creation of this structure in a PDF file? For this, you will need an Acrobat, not reader.

    XI in Acrobat, select Tools-> forms-Edit. Click 'No' on the form fields 'detect '. In the tasks Panel that opens, click on "add new field". Select "Digital Signature" and move it to the location in the document where you want to than the appearance of the signature to be. Repeat that for signature fields as you want. Users will sign by clicking on the prepared unsigned signature field which shows the dialog box "sign. Do not forget that as TSN has noted that a digital signature applies to the entire document. The entry in the document where it is is irrelevant. Each next signature covers all previous signatures.

    Your users can also sign a document from anywhere that they want without signature fields already prepared. For this select fill & sign-> work with certificates and the type of signing you want to sign up with. A dialog box that will tell you a rectangle for the appearance of signature rises and after you draw the rectangle of the dialog 'Sign' rises.

    PDF/Acrobat doesn't have a limit on a number of signatures in a PDF document. But! Don't forget that when you open a PDF file with Acrobat/Reader signatures valid all of them and takes time (several seconds - until 10 - for every signature), so if you have several signatures of dozens of their validation open can take a long time.

    I don't know how build you your workflow so that each person signs the same PDF and saves it. Economy runs on the same computer where the PDF is stored. You'll have to decide how to allow different people to have access to the same PDF. They, of course, you may sign this only one-at-a-time PDF.

  • Color variation when you import a PDF file with transparency masks

    Hi, I have a CC PDF Illustrator with multiple pages and multiple spot colors defined by the user and on some pages of an element containing the mask transparency.

    The problem with color deviation between the pages with and without the object that contains the tx masks as they are imported into InDesign.

    Looking at the page in InDesign with the described object, color chart, imported from Illustrator no longer correspond to any PDF file.

    Without the mask tx, correspond to the Illustrator PDF color chart color placed in the shade in InDesign.

    What is going on?

    Unlike Illustrator, InDesign can support RGB and CMYK colors in the same document. If InDesign won't change the colors of your Illustrator object placed as long as there is no transparency on the spread.

    When transparency is applied to the spread, all objects have to 'mix' by using the same color space. I think that this is necessary if the transparency must be flattened as it should be for many printers. InDesign uses the color set under Edition space > space of merger of transparency to determine the color space. By default, it is a print CMYK document.

  • Flatten a PDF file with sticky notes

    I have a PDF file with several comments on sticky notes. I need flatten the PDF so it can be downloaded in another tool that supports only the documents of the monolayer. This can be done with a script. I'll send you some information by private Message.

    Hi all

    I searched for it in vain, so I come to you now in desperation. My boss asked me track down this error and I have to be honest, I'm a little green with Acrobat Pro. So come the situation I know. My Department, usually use a .ps file to generate a publication as a PDF of the other .ps files. We operate on a network share (drive P :) on Windows XP SP3 machines with the latest updates.

    In Acrobat Pro 7 we can double-click the .ps file that executed the code through Adobe Distiller and a finished PFD at the same file below name would exit in the host directory. But now, after upgrading to Adobe Acrobat 9, this process produces a PDF file with all bookmarks appropriate and no content.

  • Generate a PDF file with sections invisible made visible through the code

    I have a poll with several which are either visible or hidden based on the selection of the user to a yes / no radio no button group.  The user can then present the investigation by e-mail or print the survey.  If the user prints the investigation before being submitted, all invisible made visible that user input are included in the printed copy; However, when the pdf file is generated to be attached to the presentation of the e-mail or saved using Save as, items that have been made visible by the code do not appear in the pdf file.  Here's the code used in the Yes option button:

    Comp4WhenImplementText.presence = "invisible";

    Comp4WhenImplement.presence = "invisible";

    Comp4MajorFactorText.presence = "invisible";

    Comp4WhenImplement.Comp4When03 = 0;

    Comp4WhenImplement.Comp4WhenNever = 0;

    If (Comp4No.selectedIndex! = - 1 |)

    Page3.COMP1.Comp1No.SelectedIndex! = -1 ||

    Page4.Comp2.Comp2No.SelectedIndex! = -1)

    {

    CorrectiveAction.presence = "visible";

    }

    on the other

    {

    CorrectiveAction.presence = "invisible";

    }

    The code in the box is as follows:

    Comp4WhenImplementText.presence = "visible".

    Comp4When.presence = "visible".

    CorrectiveAction.presence = "visible".

    The code in the button to send E-mail:

    Form1. #subform [12]. Button2::click - (JavaScript, client)

    If (CorrectiveAction.presence == 'visible')

    {

    If ((CorrectiveAction.rawValue == null) |) (CorrectiveAction.rawValue == ""))

    }

    on the other

    {

    Button1.execEvent ("Click");

    }

    {

    on the other

    {

    Button1.execEvent ("Click");

    }

    Button1 is invisible and laminates under visible e-mail submit button.  It actually supports the PDF by email.  The visible button performs a test and displays a message to the user if the user survey responses fail.  I also tried 'hidden' in all areas that are listed as 'invisible '.

    That should be added or changed so that the invisible elements of the survey that are made visible by the code can be seen in the pdf of the survey.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    There is a parameter that indicates it takes to save the changes via the code to the form upon registration. In the goto file/properties/Defaults form designer and make sure that the Radiobutton control that is named automatically under the Scripting to preserve changes to the form upon registration is set to.

    When I print, the page moves approximately 1.5 inches down and doesnot print page as seen on the screen.

    I checked with Apple and you s not a problem with the computer.  They say that there must be a parameter that must be corrected with the printer.

    If you encounter the problem with PDF files and only on the Mac, the best solution may be to download and run a different PDF Viewer that allows you to open the file and print instead. Adobe, Foxit, and Nitro are a few free PDF viewers with Mac support.

    Please let me know if you are able to print your PDF documents using one of these programs instead, or if you have any other questions. If not, have a great day!

  • IE9 asks to save or open pdf files

    Hello

    I don't know if it of a problem or not.

    At present, when a website (using IE9) and I click here to download a pdf file, the bar shows gold/white IE9 running security analysis, then the pdf just opens in the version current/updated to adobe reader I installed on my PC (I not adobe reader should open in your browser). Therefore, sounds good, because the analysis runs, the pdf file opens and I can save it from the disc in the adobe reader software.

    However, when you click on the PDF in the first place, in the Web page I go to, I was wondering if the download in IE9 bar should be asking me if I want to open or save the pdf file. The bar and I wonder if I want to save or open .exe downloads, as would be expected, it just does not appear for the pdf files. Also, once the pdf file is downloaded and opened, nothing appears in the download area of view (but not .exe, if it works for these objects).

    Therefore:

    -should the IE9 bar be asking me if I want to open or save the pdf file.

    - and if it should, how do I ask questions?

    Someone at - it ideas please?

    Cheers.

    PS I have since reset IE9 in all accounts and restarted but the problem persists.

    PPS I have since uninstalled and reinstalled the IE9 and Adobe Reader, but the problem remains. However, something is strange.

    After both uninstall and reboot, I reinstalled IE9 on its own (not Adobe Reader). Then I tried to download a pdf file and the bar of gold/white in IE9 worked perfectly - he asked if I wanted to open or save the pdf file and ran the scan of security as intended - ideal.

    However, I then reinstalled Adobe Reader and the problem came back. When you download a pdf file, the gold/white bar appeared, but showing no sweep only, no application to open or save the pdf file.

    Therefore, the question is why IE9 allows Adobe reader to bypass open it or save the request, when in the help files IE9 it clearly shows a picture of handling pdf Download Manager, which suggest opening or saving would have been selected? So, how can I IE9 to ask me if I want to open or save again and stop Adobe to do what he does?

    You could try posting over at Adobe.

    The solution I think. If you right-click on one of the files and select open the file locations it now combined the file with adobe reader.

    Yes - you simply need to change the associated file (and path) back to Adobe Reader.  (If that's your choice PDF reader.)

    If you did this:

    Press the Windows Logo and R key at the same time to bring up the dialog box RUN.
    Once you have the dialog box up, type in the following command and press OK...
