iMAC OS 10.12 unable full screen

Installed OS 10.12 two days ago. Whenever I try to go full screen with an application, the screen goes to the screen of "sigh in" computer. I have to enter my password of the computer and the screen goes back to where I was earlier. I restarted my iMAC without help. Same thing happens with Safari and several applications. 16 GB, 1 TB with 999 GB available storage memory.

Hello Radaniel2,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I see that you have problems when you access mode full screen in several applications. Start by booting your iMac in safe mode. If you are unsure how to do this, see this article: try safe mode if your Mac does not start while this article addresses in safe mode to startup problems, it can also isolate the problem you are experiencing.

Best regards.

  • My VM Fusion is stuck in mode full screen

I have a virtual machine OS X 10.7, who was running in a window of 1024 x 768 on my iMac 27 "retina.  Wanting a larger screen/desktop computer, I first tried simply resize the window of Fusion, but everything that blew a 1024 x 768 screen.  I have also been unable to change the native display size in OS X > System Preferences > monitors.

Finally, I made the mistake of clicking on the green button zoom on the merge window, waits that will expand the window to the maximum size (with a window border) under the Fusion menu bar.  Instead, I now a window full-screen OS X with no menu bar merge and no ability similar to exit full screen mode.  Since there is no window border, there is no green button to zoom out the window.

Move the mouse to the top of the screen displays the merged menu bar.  I am able to stop the virtual machine.  But when I restart it, it's back in fashion full screen.

How can I escape mode full screen?

    -Ward

    Hi Ward,

To exit full screen, click on the view menu in the toolbar and choose the command window.

You can also use the following key combination: "control-command + f" (can be used to turn on/off n/b full screen and single window)

About the resolution of the screen, have you tried to install VMware Tools?

If not, click on the Virtual Machine > install VMware Tools.

  • Stop menu bar to appear while in an application full screen.

    I am running 10.11.5.

Does anyone know how to stop the menu bar from appearing when, in an application that runs full screen? If I move my mouse to the top of the screen, it raises the bar of drop-down menus and become visible in the application.

This completely defeated the point of run the application in full-screen, as it is impossible to access anything whatsoever to the top of the screen without accidentally trigger it.  Thank you.

No, this is not possible. But if you add a second monitor to your iMac, you can be "menubarless".

  • Cannot get full screen with videos uTube

I bought a Mac mini-opportunity 2.1 mid-2007, 1.83 GB and 2 GB of ram.  OS 10.6.8 using Safari I can watch videos, but when I click on full screen, I get a message stating that the browser does not support.  I am using a VGA monitor.    On my iMac desktop computer when that was under snow leopard, I don't remember the problems with the mode full-screen.  So I wonder, is there an add-on I need?

    Hello, Charles Palenz,.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I understand that you get an "unsupported browser" message when you try to view videos full screen YouTube on your Mac mini. I know how it is important to ensure that you can view videos how you want your Mac.

I recommend you take a look on the support site of the mode full-screen YouTube, specifically the steps listed to ensure that you have a version update of Adobe Flash Player installed. Then, follow these steps:

    1. Open Safari.
    2. Select "Safari" from the Apple menu bar in the upper left corner of your screen and select Preferences from the menu drop down.
    3. Select the Security tab and put a check mark in the box next to "Internet plug-ins: Plug-ins to allow", if it is not already selected.

If you still have a question after that, please contact the Support of YouTube directly.

    Best regards.

  • The mouse cursor disappears when iTunes movie go full screen

This isn't a question... actually I found a hack solution to this bug and I wanted to share it with other people having the same problem.

Since the upgrade of the OS X El Capitan, I'm having a problem with my cursor disappears randomly. It is very repetitive if I start a video in iTunes with the enlarged screen and the cursor disappears. Indeed, after entering mode full-screen, iTunes mask the cursor of the mouse that is predictable. The problem is that iTunes may not reappear there again once, for example, when I go to another office for a temporary job.

Move the mouse does nothing, escaping mode full screen does not come back. It is very annoying. Like I had never had such a frustrating experience prior to a new installation of El Capitan 10.11.3 and update iTunes to 12.3.3, I thought that this is due to the update to iTunes. So, I made another new facility of El Capitan, this time without updating iTunes. But the problem still exists. It is interesting that I had this problem on my MacBook Pro 17 "end 2011 and not with my iMac 21.5" mid-2009!

After a little research, I found that this bug is not because of El Capitan, and happened randomly in the other years dating back to Tiger and maybe before.

Only new change I had made in my MBP Preferences system , was in the part of accessibility, and it was related to Zoom. I had always used this feature, but I put the Zoom Style 'full-screen'. This time (after the new installation of El Capitan), I had changed to 'Picture-in-Picture'.

I changed the Style of zoom "full screen" even once, and the problem resolved.

If this does not work for you, can be debilitating, other options, such as 'Use keyboard shortcuts to zoom' or 'Use of scrolling with keys of change to zoom movements,' can solve the problem.

We all know that it is a bug, and he has been there for a long time. I found that many people had reported it to Apple, but the problem persists.

For those of you who want to use the zoom "Picture-in-Picture" style, or set the zoom style full screen does not solve the problem of their mouse disappears, I will mention a few ways to recover the mouse cursor. The following solutions are applied to a mouse cursor disappeared after entering the movie to iTunes (or any other application) full screen.

    1. Move the mouse until the switching Office brings back the cursor. Now, you can switch the desktop computer and do whatever you want. (It's easier work, at least for me).
    2. Use Alt - Tab to switch to another program; This will bring the mouse cursor.
    3. Press Ctrl + F2 to activate the Apple menu. (You can also move your cursor away to top left and click to activate the menu.)
    4. Press Ctrl + up arrow (or swipe up with 4 fingers on the touchpad) to activate the control of the Mission.

You can also find other ways to retrieve the cursor of your mouse.

Hope this can help you with the mouse pointer disappears.

In MBP El Capitan the pointer of the mouse is where you assign to ' picture in picture ' or 'full screen '.

If you miss your mouse pointer, accessibility-> display "Shake mouse to locate" check to find your mouse pointer. It should be there.

  • Optimize the image to full screen 2D control

Hi, I'm update programmatically control of 2D image to full screen size.  Is there a way to do this?

I know that you can maximize the façade to the fulll screen but I have been unable to develop a method which allows me to do that for a 2D image control.

    Thanks for your help!

You can adapt the 2D image control to the front of your VI by selecting (using right-click) 'Fit Control Panel' and then 'ladder with component object. If you will maximize the VI, control of the 2D image display screen.

  • Cannot play a DVD in full screen.

When I play a DVD with Windows Media Player, I am unable to view in full screen.  Black margins on each side of the movie screen.  It is a new problem.  I uninstalled WMP and reinstalled and it is not changed.  I can watch full screen in other modes.

Clearly your message not being your comments on the web site of Microsoft Answers, I moved it on forum Feedback to windows ' Photos and video "forum.  Return to your message, and click the Edit button located just below.  Change the Version of Windows, menu dropdown to indicate your version of Windows, then click on submit.  People can help you better if you do not keep your Windows version a secret.

When I play videos via WMP (on WIndows 7), I click on the button "full screen" down right WMP and I get an image full screen.  If you have a widescreen monitor, then you will have black bars on the sides of a video, all Standard definition as you would if you were to view a SD video on a large screen TV.  I don't think that WMP has a 'stretch' or 'zoom' works as a TV does, so I don't think that it can artificially change the size of the video as a TV can.  Similarly, if you play a widescreen, HD video on a monitor with a ration of 4:3 (like a standard TV) in full mode aspect screen, you'vv have black bands above and below the video.  At least, that's how it works for me.

  • Runnning BACK full screen in Windows Vista

I try to open and read some of my old school games, but I am unable to get the screen BACK to run full-screen mode.  I have no idea what to do from here.  I think I'm under the 32-bit version of Vista.

    Hello

Welcome to Microsoft Windows 7 answers Forum!

The problem occurs because the Windows device drivers support all video modes BACK running. Windows device drivers are based on the Mode operating system display driver. You must contact the manufacturer of the driver or display adapter to get help.
