iMac screen won't turn on - related memory?

Hey everybody-

I just put four new OWC cards 8 GB memory in my iMac weeks old 2015 retina k 5 and when I turn it on, everything sounds like it is starting, but the screen does not light.  If I remove the top card, the screen turns on and the machine works fine.  If I put a card in the top slot and remove another card, the display lights.

-Are there something about this superior location which is buggy?  Is this common?  Am I lame?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Could be. What happens when you replace the two slots albums with modules that you removed to see if it works then. If this isn't the case, it is possible a PIN is bent into the slot or the module has not pushed hard enough to snap into place.

  • HP 9000dn screen won't turn on!

    Hello

I got the code 53.10.03 earlier today and he raised online. He said it might be the memory, so I turned off the machine and out the motheboard and deleted one of the memories that it is bad. But after that I put the motherboard and turned on the machine, the screen does not work. Even the buttons do not illuminate. So I don't know if I have created a new problem or it's related to this code. Will be happy if someone can help,

    Thank you

One of these sticks of memory isn't actually a firmware dimm memory. HE must go into the slot 1 or the display will be blank. Watch the DIMMs and see if one says C9147 on it. It of the firmware put it in slot 1.

  • Screen won't turn on and can run Vista in safe mode on Satellite P series

Last night, I was working on a slide show with windows movie maker in Vista. I had trouble getting the software to recognize my video files for my camcorder, so I suggested that I try to download codec so that he could play my files... I don't know what I was doing, but he gave a shot.

Even if the codec didn't work even after the download, I was still able to run my computer normally. This morning I woke up and continued to work on my slide show but my computer wouldn't play my slideshow. All he would do was play music and audio files... Everything seems to be working so I decided to restart it.

My computer will restart, but now my screen is black. It remains 'functions' I see change different colors of black and gray because it is set to zero... and I can hear all the audio that comes with reset, but I can't get my laptop screen to work.

I plugged my desktop monitor to my laptop to see if the monitor would work like that and it did for about 30 seconds, then turned off Black too. I then rebooted and press F8 and ran in safe mode with my always-connected desktop monitor. I am able to run in safe mode but not normally reboot. I think I downloaded some viruses with this codec.

I decided to get the desktop monitor and press F8 just hoping the screen would show up on my laptop... but it still doesn't work. It stays black.

Now, I'm running in network mode so I can know what to do next. I tried a restore of the system in safe mode, but I think that it only deleted windows updates and not something else. I can't find my toshiba recovery CD because we moved a month ago and it's somewhere in a box...

So here I am. I work constantly on a slide show for Christmas and can't play or it end before my laptop works again. I also tried a during restart System Restore but I don't know my password of administrator and I tried a couple that I thought that I would have used during installation, but they were not good and so now he me off to run as administrator.

Can someone tell me what I can do? Thank you very much

I'm a newbie here, but have you tried...

    1. press F8 (press on and hold, or press repeatedly) while Vista boots, and then select Safe Mode. This should automatically open the account administrator (no password needed) and you can then reset your existing account to the administrator.

    2. simply delete all user accounts permits (including the one you are logged as) without forgetting to let the disabled administrator account. And then disconnect.

    3. use Offline NT Password & Registry Editor to unlock the administrator account or promote another user to the local Administrators group to regain access to your locked Windows Vista PC.

    4. also Vista has a hidden superuser account.

    Just my 2 cents.

  • My acer liquid e3 screen won't turn on?

I was on my phone and it has not been plugged, but had a full charge. Then the screen became black even if I had not pressed the lock button or anything. I pressed the lock button to redisplay my screen but it wouldn't come back on so I pressed again and she flashed my screen lock for a second before returning to the coast. Even when someone calls me, my screen flashes on a second and then go back to being black. I tried to power off, but it won't allow me because I can't access the screen. I restarted using the lock button and the volume button, but he made no difference at all. It charges fine and when I plug it into my laptop I can still transfer files between the two devices, my screen just lights and I can't access any application or text or do anything on my phone.

I suspect a hardware failure, id, you are still under warranty, contact Acer support services, if not... you can not do much.

    Skinz Hello,

I would say to do a reload own the BlackBerry® device software, as shown here: http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320, please test before you restore all data on the device.

If this resolves the problem do a selective restore of critical data (address book, calendar, tasks, notes, BBM, contacts etc.).

The Pro was working fine but all of a sudden, when he was arrested at the screen lights not to start. I can just make icons for users and right angle can see the mouse pointer. If I click on the user icon, and then the computer starts and works normally. Why the screen will not properly start the normal start?

    Hello

Have you used the device display change utility?
With the FN + F5 key combination, you can change the display options.
Try to use it and check if this will solve your problem.

PS: Check the properties of the graphics card and try to disable the extended option of the office, and the second screen.

  • iMac screen just turns white

my iMac screen went white. I turn it on and have nothing else than a white screen. Y at - it shortcuts keys for a difficult stop for these devices? Or does anyone have a real success for this scenario?

Hold the power button until it stops. The attempt of a PRAM reset according to the directives of the iMac SMC and reset the PRAM. If the computer does not start, try to restart in the recovery actually now Partition command + R to start. If that fails, take the machine to your local Apple Store or Service Center authorized Apple repair.

In addition, you happen to have ANY antivirus, cleaning or ANY other maintenance applications third party installed?

  • iMac won't turn. Startup disk is full. TDM won't let me edit.

iMac won't turn. Startup disk is full. TDM won't let me edit.

My iMac turns off 10 seconds after the start to the top. I tried repair disk running, to no avail. What is happening is because my boot drive is full, off the 500 GB I partitioned in mac, 493,63 GB is taken up. I bought a thunderbolt cable to access the TOC on my mac book, and I have access to my files now. The problem is that I can only copy files. Authorities say I read and write permissions. When I start my host computer, it says "you can still open or copy the files on the disk, but you cannot save changes to the files on the disc. Back up the disk and reformat it as soon as you can. "I'm trying to copy all my files on this computer and remove what I don't want copies, then reinstall OSX on my iMac. The problem is that some files are native to all OSX, so it would prevent me from copying the files. For example, if I want to copy my applications folder, it stops to copy once it reached the app store, because it cannot copy that. It is a problem because when it comes to the library, there are small files in there that I don't know if I can copy, then it stops at the copy and I end up with half of my files and I don't know what I need and what I have.

Everything you need to copy the disk, then start the iMac in recovery (command-R) mode. Wipe the drive and reinstall OS X from the recovery console.

  • Mac Pro 2014 Retina screen shows lightning under empty battery but won't turn on

Screen shows lightning under empty battery, but won't turn on. I had plugged it with two adapters to support different (long and short) that accompanies the retina macbook 17 inches. Ive left plugged in for 24 hours and still will not light. I have tried reseting everything I saw on the forum other messages such as pressing shift-control-alt-power - release and then pressing button works / stop and nothing. Sometimes just showing the Red/low battery with Flash below the middle of the screen, but it will not activate. I have all my work on this computer and need to have on it.

The green light on the magnetic charge cable is not, however, this has only worked from time to time and then for a while so I was not worried about it. Any advice?

You have to go to an Apple Store or an authorized Service provider. The fact and take up virtually even with different Chargers, the indicator light on the MagSafe does not light up and the display on the screen of the cries of hardware problems. And these sealed Macs really are repairable no-no.

  • Backup to phone that won't turn on?

I dropped my phone in water, this was not saved on iTunes or iCloud. The phone won't turn on or do anything when plugged into a computer. My main concern is to get my photos. It's an iPhone 6 and I have tried everything I know so he can turn it on (hold down the buttons, plug it into the wall, plug into computer, etc.).

If I took the phone out, where I could find the map / is there a card that stores all the data of the photo?

Is there a way to backup without turning on the phone? I've tried a few programs, but they do recognize that nothing was plugged.

Or is there something that can be done to recover the photos, the phone is off?

If you have not used 5 ways that Apple provides to save the pictures or the 3 ways to back up the phone, then there is no way to recover them. They are stored encrypted, so even if you can remove the chip memory (which is unlikely) you can not retrieve its content.

  • 5 k iMac screen cracked.

Hello, I know that you would have to go to Apple to get an estimat but does anyone know how much it cost to repair a small crack on a 5 k iMac screen as I just hit him a picture about it too there Apple care that make a difference in the cost? If anyone knows please let me know thank you.

Hope you do not mind me to add my problem here about this because my problem is also related.

On 29 may, I sent my iMac for repair at Eaton, here in Toronto (covered under warranty). I got with my screen was fading. They got it all fixed and I came and picked up today. BUT... I don't check the display of a crack, either. Everything happened very fast because I trusted their expertise and did not bother to check the screen carefully. Once I got home, I immediately noticed a small circular crack on the black area of the screen, lost a little piece of glass of the screen. I did not bang the iMac against anything like that. People are very careful with their stuff when something that is expensive. I don't want to blame one who has mounted the display or one of carry out of the storage room, anyway I don't know how this crack got there. In a way, it's really my fault for not having a look attentive all in store. Personally, I don't mind using this crack, but it's embarrassing because there is a little thought. Any suggestion on what I can do?

  • I dropped my iPhone and now it won't turn! fear a lot what do I do now?

I dropped my iPhone and now it won't turn! fear a lot what do I do now?

Your best bet is to get to a repair facility independent of having your phone looked.

iPhone 4 s are little tough suckers, so you can have just a disconnected, damaged screen or display battery disconnected in the drop-down list.

Your option at Apple is a one off replacement warranty on a 4S which means turn into your phone, pay $199, get a 4 s handed to nine.   It's too much pay for a 4S these days.

In a shop that specializes in independent repair, someone can help troubleshoot your phone to see if it is a problem of display which are highly soluble or battery. Cost-$ 50 - $100 depending on the problem (s).

If you have more serious damage to the Board, then it can be useful to continue given the value of the unit.

How to identify a quality independent repair shop?

Do the research.  Not all independent repair shops are trustworthy, and the quality of the parts they use can vary.  Looking for a store with good reviews, a solid guarantee at least 6 months on the repair and a guarantee to solve your problem or toll-free.  Ask that they source their parts.  Any store claiming to use real Apple original parts should be avoided, as this is not possible.  Independent repair is a fantastic option for comfort and savings, but you have to do some legwork to find a store in your area, given that many of those unscrupulous.

I have a Satellite A215 who just won't turn on. I have the blue light flash on the power cable and battery. I tried to take out the battery and memory.
I tried to use only the power cord power, but with no luck please please help got all my pics on laptop and it won't just turn

Have you tried a different memory location? On some PCs, you must have a Module of memory in the first place. Otherwise, it does not start.

If this does not work, then the motherboard or video card might be faulty. Take it to a Service Center for repair.

  • Re: Satellite C660-1F1 won't turn on even with the AC adapter is plugged

    Hello

    I need help.
I have a portable c660-1F1. It will come with the charger plugged.
Trying to hook up without the battery and it will not turn on. I don't know what the problem is.

I took the battery and took out the charger and you press the button power for 30 seconds and nothing.

Did a CMOS reset and nothing.
Took one on the memory and replaced it, but nothing.

I don't know what the problem is. I even took the internal battery and see if that makes a difference.
    Nothing happened. Still won't turn.
I think it may be the internal fuse if there is?
Or if could be the port if the laptop? The charger works fine.

The battery life is very good and I think I'm out of options and I'm afraid that it might be the motherboard and if yes, then I guess I can replace the card mother, but don't know if it works.

    Can someone help me?

    > The battery is fine and I think I'm out of options and I'm afraid that it might be the motherboard and if yes, then I guess I can replace the card mother, but don't know if it works.

    It looks like the motherboard.
It would be the worst case, because the new motherboard is really expensive: about 300

Do you think that its worth a try? I have not... in that case I would ask a technician to check the hardware.

What would you do if you buy a mobo and finally you will discover that it is not question of mobo?
