Image optimization eat a huge amount of memory

Hi all

I use an image in my VI control comes to display an image to the user.

The image that I am inserting in the image control is about 100 KB.

But, the amount of memory, it takes the disk is about 10 MB, which makes my very slow running program.

Why the control takes so much memory? What is the cure?

Thank you

Ritesh

It doesn't matter what size the image is on the screen, LabVIEW is always load the entire image in memory to display it to a much smaller size.  So, you should be better placed to determine the size of image you want to use and allows you to resize the images to the size that you will actually use a photo editing program.

You can also dynamically load images in files.  This will prevent the VI to become bloated on the hard drive.  It's not decrease the amount of memory used by the program during execution, because images should always be loaded into memory to display.

    Since the update to Firefox 4 my Windows toolbar crashes after a few minutes. Firefox also uses a huge amount of memory. More than any other program and I have a lot of powerful programs. This time 222 000. More than any other program. Critical problem.

  • The amount of memory on PCIe-1430

    Hello

    I was wondering how much onboard memory is present on the cards PCIe-1430. Data is transferred directly to the Board of Directors on the host memory or is there an intermediate FIFO? If there is a FIFO, what is its depth?

    Thank you!

    Hi zyl7,

    Thnaks for posting on the forum of the national Instrumetns.

    You will find here information memory the PICe-1430.

    The memory on these maps is irrelevant. Some perhaps on-board memory to be used by each Board of Directors, but in almost all cases, this amount of memory shipped is useless for the end user, because boards use DMA to immediately transfer the image to the RAM of the computer data. The jury (due to the PCI Express bus) frame grabber is able to transfer all the image data the computer RAM via a DMA transfer, thus eliminating the need for a large amount of memory shipped almost immediately. The real limitation with these frame grabber boards broadband are 32-bit operating systems (e.g. Windows XP). 32-bit operating systems restrict the amount of less than 4 GB RAM, which is only 6.5 seconds of data to the total bandwidth of 680 MB/s.

  • That is the app automatically downloads every three hours suck huge amounts of data?  How do I turn it off?

    On the iPhone 6 sec, that either the app downloads every 3 hours, using huge amounts of data?

    As nobody here knows what applications do you have on your phone, there is no way we could answer that.

    To start to figure it out, go to settings > cellular and made scroll down to see which applications are using a large amount of data. Disable cellular data for those who use a lot without reason you can think and see if this will have an impact.

    Also, many carriers use only newspaper given every so many hours. Maybe it's a running total for these three hours.

  • What is the maximum amount of memory in a Pavilion P6020 - Win8 upgrade?

    I can't find what the maximum amount of memory can be placed in the Pavilion P6020.

    As it is necessary to do a re-install of the operating system supplied with the system (Vista), I would check if it makes sense to improve the Win8-64 bit system and increase memory to 3 GB to 4 or even better of 6 GB.

    Currently, the system has 3 GB of memory (1x1GB & 1x2GB), the way in which he indulged.

    This configuration really makes the relative system slow lately.

    Hi, Peter:

    There are several variations of the P6020.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/pfinder?cc=us & DLC = in & LC = on & os = 228 & sw_lang = & Tool = & query = P6020

    I think they all have the same specifications which indicate the maximum memory you can install in the PC is 2 x 2 GB memory (4 GB).

    Before you "sign on the dotted line," to buy Windows 8, go ahead and start the download and it will first run an Upgrade Advisor to check your PC and report incompatibilities.

    Your PC is more than likely won't be supported by HP with windows 8 drivers. My main concern would be the video card, do not have drivers available.

  • Need to know the maximum amount of memory installed in Satellite M70-308

    Hello
    I have a satellite M70-308 and I want to upgrade the RAM. In the table of specifications toshiba declares that the amount ram memory maximum for this model is 2 GB, but I want to know if it is possible to install more.
    If my memory is DDR2, I can install memory 533 or 677 speed without problem?
    Thanks in advance and sorry for my English.

    Hi Pablo.

    Your laptop will support up to 2 GB of RAM (1 X 1 GB stick in each slot). See address url for more information on the type of RAM you can use: -.

  • How to determine the amount of memory shipped on the PXI-5114

    How to determine the amount of memory onboard, I have on my PXI-5114?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    I'm sorry I didn't know you already had the map.  There is a property for NO-Scope node to determine the total amount of available memory that we can then divide down to get the memory available per channel.  Please see the vi and help below:

    This gives a shot, just drop it in a VI that you use and if it should return your memory cards.  If you don't have a LabVIEW I can probably retrieve the purchased version by querying your serial number.

    Kind regards

  • How to get the amount of memory installed?

    (It's under the Windows operating system)

    I have do a comparative analysis program for the performance statistics for some complex calculations based on the hardware.

    What is the best way to get the amount of RAM installed programmatically?

    How do I know if the OS is 32 or 64 bit?

    Thank you!

    Well, it does not resemble the Memstats VI returns the memory installed. It returns a number, but I can't match the amount of memory installed on my system. The GetCurrentPlatform seems to return only the name of the OS, not whether 32-bit or 64-bit. I see nothing in the App-> target list containing this information. At least to 8.2. Did not check in 2009.

    Define "better". Best in speed? Better compatibility on multiple versions of the Windows operating system? Best in terms of access to this information without having to delve too in all sorts of types of data Windows and DLLs?

    Would you consider .NET stand for the 'best '. If so, the amount of RAM installed can be gained from easily using the Microsoft.VisualBasic.Devices.ComputerInfo class:

    To determine whether your OS is 32 - bit or 64 - bit are you trying to make a distinction between a 32 bit on a 64-bit CPU vs OS a 64 bits on 64-bit OS? I know that the WMI class can be used to obtain this information, so if you try to make this distinction, you could watch the Win32_ComputerSystem and Win32_Processor classes. For example, I think that what follows is what you would see:

    OS 64-bit on x64processor:
    Win32_ComputerSystem.systemType = pc x 64
    Win32_Processor.addresswidth = 64
    Win32_Processor.architecture = 9
    Win32_Processor.DataWidth = 64

    32 bit on x86processor OS:
    Win32_ComputerSystem.systemType = x 86 pc
    Win32_Processor.addresswidth = 32
    Win32_Processor.architecture = 0
    Win32_Processor.DataWidth = 32

    OS 32 bit on x64processor:
    Win32_ComputerSystem.systemType = x 86 pc
    Win32_Processor.addresswidth = 32
    Win32_Processor.architecture = 9
    Win32_Processor. DataWidth = 64

    I've attached an example on how to access the classes with .NET. Not pretty, but not too bad either.

    Hello axiomtest,

    There are two stickers on the back of the card (including one with a barcode) and the other without.  The part number is that without the bar code and from there, you can search your memory option on our Web site.  If there is no sticker on the card, which looks like yours have been removed, then use this example of community in LabVIEW to determine the size of your card.

    Kind regards
