Images of camera/chip/developing for blackBerry Smartphones

I have a BB Torch.  How to transfer photos from the chip for development?  Thank you.

You cannot save both.

You can use BlackBerry Desktop Software on your PC to synchronize your media files on your PC or you can simply move the photos one by one in the memory of the device to the media card. To do this, you will need to go in the Media folder, press the menu button and select "explore". Then look for the folder that contains your pictures and move them one by one to the media card.

  • Best way to start developing for Blackberry 10?

    Hello

I'm a mobile developer works on iOS, Android, and Blackberry platforms.

Our society has decided to finally support the Blackberry 10 platform. I've been so busy to develop our latest ideas on iOS I really had time to look into the development of BB10, so far.

I did some research on the forums and came across this post:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Java-development/I-want-to-start-development-for-BlackBerry-1...

Which mentions 2 ways that you can develop for BB10, Aboriginal and waterfalls.

Now, when it comes to development of BB, I come from the crowd of java. I would like to know the advantages and disadvantages of native development and Cascades, what IDEs or SDK is required, what knowledge is necessary to begin (ex: C++) etc...

If this question has already been answered, you have my apologies, please provide a link.

    Thank you!

"Native" is just C/C++ without using Qt and infrastructure of Cascades user interface on top of it. Unless you plan build your user interface ENTIRELY in OpenGL, you probably want to waterfalls. And even in this case, you can draw OpenGL cascading with the ForeignWindowControl content.

Anyway, if you come from the point of view of iOS, you might find this useful: https://developer.blackberry.com/cascades/documentation/getting_started/porting/index.html

Since you are familiar with our Java on BB7 platform, you can also check the Java BlackBerry series BlackBerry 10 Cascades of blog on our developer blog posts. The first is here: http://devblog.blackberry.com/2013/01/port-java-to-cascades-part-1/and part 13 just came out today.

  • Images of text may not of blackBerry Smartphones

This new 9350 curve of love. Coming from a droid to Samsung Galaxy S, it's such an improvement.

The curve is fine except that I can't send a picture in a text.

I can email them, send to Twitter and Facebook but no texting.

All text without images work fine. It is kind of a big deal for me as I do a lot.

    Any ideas?

Sprint is the carrier. I have the plan.

    Thank you

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile provider to support formal... "Everything" is a marketing term, not something technical on what services you actually have of them (not all the "Everything" plans are created equal!). And, if you pay them for this service, they are not of it.

    Good luck!

  • Storage of applications for blackBerry Smartphones

Hey everyone... I use my 9790 bold, he repeats to me my memory to applications is 512 MB internal memory of the phone's 8 GB! So is there anyway to increase this limited storage for applications? In addition, this space does not increase if I use an external MicroSD memory?

    Hello...

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and fixed (size: 512 MB in your case) space that is available to the House of the OS itself, as the destination for the installation of applications (more a few storage applications, overhead and other costs). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media- is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

    • KB05461 Sizes of card MicroSD taken in charge by the BlackBerry device software

On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory). Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone

Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

    Good luck!

You will need to get them on an Android App store, there is a good app called Snap specially written to help with this...

Now, I get very frustrated that I cannot do anything with my phone!  Help, please!

Hello and welcome to the community!

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

    For the moment, I can only use Japanese by copying and pasting the characters of a note that I downloaded. ;_;

    But it is not practical.

    Can someone help, please?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi kagamine

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums

Yes, it is possible to install the Japanese language on your curve 9220, all you had to do is download a pack of BONES all the language and then install it on your PC, then he had to use BlackBerry Desktop Software to add the Japanese language. You can try this way:

    1. download and install on your PC of any OS pack with any language or multi-language pack by carriers

    • (Make sure you download for the same phone model)

    2. download and install the latest version of BlackBerry desktop from here BlackBerry desktop software software

    3. search your drive C: Vendor.xml and delete them, there may be one or two vendor.xml (on the change of your Pc as your records option to show the hidden files/folders):

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\Windows UserName\AppData\Roaming\Research in Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

Once done open BlackBerry Desktop Software (7.1) > select Applications. > in the section of language and support for entry , select the language to be added to the BlackBerry smartphone (a + will appear next to the language to install) > click apply.

  • BlackBerry Windows Explorer for Blackberry smartphone?

Is there such a thing as Windows Explorer for Blackberry?

Is it is regard to your other thread flexmail you posted? Why open multiple threads on the same subject? It's just confusing for those of us here to help sort through what has already been answered elsewhere.

You cannot open a file *.exe on your BlackBerry. Those intended for the PC and install or unzip the files to install normally.  It is not necessary by train.

If you bought or you plan to use FlexMail, I would recommend that you contact the developer of that product for support, because they certainly must have at the same time in their own software.

I've been upgraded to version 6 on my 9300 curve but when I downloaded a few applications, they do not work.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

A little sparse on the details... "they don't work" could mean that they launch, they communicate, or a myriad of other possible symptoms. Accurate description of what you're trying and that happens helps us not to guess.

But, since you have left to guess, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):
