IMessage problem

When using imessage sent overseas, addition of cellular data, do I have to pay roaming charges? Thank you!

If you send a message to any foreigner using iMessage, the only fees you would be against your data allowance. There is no roaming charges, since you're not roaming.

I recently left the country for a month had to remove my sim card to avoid any roaming charges. When I came back I put my card back in and realized that I had not received one of my last iMessages or missed calls a month. Even during my trip, I had wifi but without the sim card I have still not got any iMessages. I called apple about the problem and my phone carrier and have updated my phone to the latest version, but nothing has worked for me. Basically, I'm trying to just go back one month messages and missed calls that may be important for me. Any thoughts?

You will get back iMessages old. They are not be stored anyhere for you to recover from. In regards to missed calls, I'm not aware of your rack system record any kind of list of missed calls, but the carrier must be the one to answer that question. Unless the caller has left a voicemail, calls are gone.

  • iMessage problem with display left column

I'm under EC 10.11.1.  Recently iMessage started behaving wonky.  Normally I have the spectacle of the left column of all information (name, phone number and a photo) of a person I communicate regularly with.  For reasons that I am unclear on the subject, the left column has been reduced to nothing, but either an icon of an image or a picture of the person - no phone number, no other information - and it's really annoying, trying to figure out who the message is from without going through the number of name and/or phone.   (Mac Pro 2013, if necessary).

How can I get the column to display ALL relevant information on my communicants?

    Thank you.

  • Messages of the Sierra and the problems of continuity iMessage

I took these communities to try to resolve a problem which, for me, is as old as the first day iMessage became available for Mac.

I can't emphasize how incredibly boring, it is completely out of sync how both are. The problems are always the same:

    (1) never are conversations in the issue of order/same on both devices. For example, for a conversation that has been exploited to iMessage on my iPhone, when I open my Mac, it appears in the notifications, like new. All the answers are there.

    (2) a conversation that has been deleted from the iPhone suddenly appears on the opening on my Mac... seriously?

    (3) the conversations that are deleted on my iPhone does not disappear in the Messages and vice versa.

To sum it all, pretty much the case is that both apps, while they expected to work simultaneously with fluidity to do what they want when they want.

This has been a problem since iMessage became available on Mac OS for the first time (think it was Mavericks). I've been waiting for Apple to fix this with each software update to make OSX or iOS. But guess what...?

My Mac running OS Sierra and my iPhone 6 s more running iOS 10.0.1. Everything that could be activated in so that they can work together has been activated and triple checked. I would really like to know if anyone has a way to fix this or if there is other people are having the same problem.

    Hello

An excellent explanation of exactly how iMessages works on iPhone and Mac.

It does the same thing, if you add in an iPad or and iPod Touch.

iMessages are pushed, the Treaty is called, for devices that have been associated with (by adding the Apple ID on an iPhone).

This means that it is not as Mail where are read from the server and in the case of a POP account you can choose to let the "message" on the server if other devices can read.

IMAP accounts will be synchronized as you say but POP will be more like the Messages app with iMessages.

The iMessages which is addressed to you are marked by the number of devices is in the opportunity to see it.

He pushes the devices until they respond (Accept) once this device has accepted it is removed from signage and only devices that did not have a chance on seeing.

There is a time limit on how long the iMessages is pushed to a device (such that being away from your Mac turned off everything on vacation or phone that died or was out of range of the carrier)

Once the device have the iMessages it is removed from the server.

A simpler view is that the iMessages is "copied" and sent to each device and that each device can not see the other "versions" and that each "copy" is deleted from the server that happens on the device.

The news to "read" your comments, you might see comes that of the device, it was intended to (i.e. addressing a number only the iPhone to another end may, so together, to send the reply 'read').

Same thing with sent.  This is why you get a response, when he showed even "Delivered" as someone can answer from a connected device.

This means that the 'Sync' is really only show on all devices and nothing do you on one device will be the effect of the other.

It is not broken, even if this isn't what you think that told you about the device.

  • Problem with iMessage

I noticed after the update today with ios 10. Sometimes this iMessage stops working when I send to a friend and does not send or send text. I have not had any problems until today. It seems to be related to the new features. I have to restart my iphone to make it work. I am currently using the 6s plus.

    Hi reb101!

I understand that iMessage is having a few problems with the shipment, and you have noticed that since updating to iOS 10.  I can certainly understand why it would be a matter of concern, and I'm happy to offer assistance.  If this only happens with a contact, they may be problems on their end.  If this happens with more than one contact, you can try the suggestions in the following support article:

  • Problems with iMessage

I have problems with iMessage. I upgraded my iPod touch 5th generation iOS IOS 7 something 9.3.1. Account was opened to keep Messages forever. All messages are passed after the upgrade. Very well, we will live with the consequences, but would really like to return.

    • Now, when I send a new message he continues to be blocked on sending... but it's actually sending. Messages come in. And when you return to the message backwards messages send push 1 of 4, 1 of 8, 1 of 12, etc..
    • When I drag the message application, close it and reopen it, all the messages that I received look like there, but when you open all the message the entire context of the message is gone. You can see who sent the message.

Any help you could provide is most appreciated! I tried all of the following: disconnected from icloud, imessage and facetime, reset all settings, reset network, restored to the last back upward. Thank you!

I have now done a factory of the device reset and still the same problems identified. Apple please help!

  • problem installation iMessage with my friend touch iPod.

So my friend got a new iPod touch 5th generation earlier. It has set up with its own Apple ID (I think) but when he tries to make an iMessage account, it will not work for some strange reason. He would put in his Apple ID and password and press on continue but it would just be still for a time looong. After some time, he said that it is impossible to connect to the server of FaceTime. I never saw this error message and curious to know why it says unable to connect to the server of FaceTime when he signed in iMessage. At first I thought it was just a mistake with its wifi because it has limited wifi and he lives in a field in the middle of nowhere. I told her to try the wifi of my church, when it comes to my birthday party. But the same thing happens again. If anyone knows how to fix it can you tell me in DETAIL how!

  • iMessage "awaiting activation" international problem

So I went oversees and upon arrival, my IMessages by cell phone number worked perfectly on the wifi connection, but I had a hard time sending pictures/videos. I didn't have my ID apple connected to both, but I turned off IMessage and then back on... He kept saying "Waiting for activation" which was at least 12 hours. So I decide to log my apple ID and add my e-mail address that worked perfectly for IMessage. The cell phone number is grayed out constantly, and even if I connect ILO to Apple ID or remove my email, I can not get my number IMessages. I tried airplane mode, reboot the phone, change the DNS, everything. I can still send and receive TEXT messages on my cell number, if I do not use IMessage.

    Hello

There is an app Messages having an iMessages account.

In fact, it may have a Hello 'Account' AIM, Jabber and Yahoo, not to mention the many you can have.

One of them could be the cause rather than the iMessages one.

    These: -.

    NSInvalidArgumentException

See if the data of one kind or another in the past between the app and other places he works with.

In some cases, the 'reason' may include a reference to something being 'null '.

In these cases, this may mean that the Contacts App has no listed correct My map, in some cases, this means that Mac user account name and my card Contacts do not seem to match.

Can you be specific about which .plists you deleted.

Some with ichat in the name refers to the functions most basic application which have been there since the app was called iChat.

For example, it might be the sort of friend order if you have AIM, Yahoo or Jabber accounts.

This Yahoo have released a new version of their Messenger which seems incompatible with what they had before.

It seems to stop the Messages application entering this account.

I don't think that is the question here because I don't have this problem myself.

Can you remember if you changed anything in the Messages recently?

Present themselves as one or more individual items contact lists?

Changed a State Message to a buddy list?

Changed the "conversations of beginning of" setting on the iMessages account?

Deselected an alternative email or number of iPhone?

  • iMessage how to block people? iPad iOS Mini3 10.

Hey everybody! I have a small question, I received a message from a person I do not know and I would block them, I don't really know how well. Again, I am on iOS 10.0.2 and my device is an iPad Mini 3. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Normally these are the settings < iMessage > blocked. Then you choose a person in your contacts to block. The problem with this is how can you put an unknown person in your Contacts?

  • iMessage/Facetime activation on iOS 10 bug

    Hello

The bug appeared after the first intentional reboot after iOS 10 updated, my iPhone 5 has been disconnected for a few hours. When it started I started to receive petitions of iM/FT on reboot or a random time after even if iM/FT completely!

I did not move my SIM card. If I refuse to activate iM I can't see my phone number in the Contacts section.

The same bug persists on the iPhone of my 5s wife while his phone has never been disconnected except 10.0.2 update.

    Hi Valsh,

Here is how to fix iMessage / FaceTime activation do not question.

Before you begin, you'll need sort these things:

    • Make sure that in the phone application, you got your registered number. On top of "Contacts", you should see your registered number (My Number :). If not, you will need to go to settings → → my phone number and enter your number.
    • Make sure that the Date and time (in general) are correct. Set to "Set automatically" to ensure that the time zone is correct and the iPhone is at the right time.
    • Also make sure you have a working network. Problems of Wi - fi can cause iMessage activation problems therefore have active cell.
For some users, the message for activation goes out as an international SMS. Make sure that your carrier allows these and you have a sufficient amount to send them.

    1. contact your operator

First of all, make sure that your carrier supports iMessage or not. Contact the support team of carrier and check any condition limiting on your iMessage, blocks or text filters.

    2. airplane mode

As strange as it sounds, maybe you should try this method if nothing else works. We found the airplane mode activation mode in one of the discussions. It sounds simple, and if it is correct, it would be nice, right?

    Here's how it works:

Step #1. Get off at scroll → settings touch Messages and turn offiMessage (also turn off FaceTime)

Step #2. Turn on airplane mode. WiFi will be disabled automatically.

    Step #3: Turn ON Wifi.

Step #4. Return to Messages and ignition iMessage.

Step #5. You will be prompted for your Apple ID if you have not yet added it. (otherwise, you get no notification)

Step #6. Now, go back to the settings and disable airplane mode.

Step #7. For the most part, you will see a notification that says "your carrier may charge for SMS" - press OK

Step #8. If this is not the case, go to Messages, disable iMessage and then turn on again.

Step #9. In a few moments, iMessage should be enabled.

Step #10. You will see a greyed number and e-mail ID. A little later, the number should be checked, and that's all.

    3 Apple ID disconnect, connect

Sometimes, you just need to logout of your identifier Apple and then sign in again.

Step #1. Under Settings → Message, scroll up to where it says 'Send and receive'and tap on it.

Step #2. Type on the Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.

Step #3. Now turn off iMessage.

Step #4. Wait for a while (toggle Wifi) and then turn on the iMessage.

Step #5. Enter the details of your Apple ID now and try to reactivate iMessage

    4. set or restore

If things do not work, you must first reset the settings of your location, then the iPhone. Reset is just a force so restart your data stays secure. After the reset, you will just connect with your Apple and implementing iMessage like new.

If this fails, you may need to restore the iPhone as new or from a backup.

    Hope this helps,

    See you soon.
