  A CD came with the computer and I don' t know how, or if I can use the i386 at this stage. contains WINNT i386. EXE, and WINNT32.exe indicating me a full copy of the system.

  If it is doable but requiring a major tech-skills, I will put an end to this attempt and try to find a CD. (old dog, new tricks)

  Follow these methods.

  Method 1: Follow these steps:

  (a) restart your computer if you have not already done so. There is always the possibility that the error Code 31 that you see was caused by a temporary problem with Device Manager. If so, a simple reboot can solve the Code 31.

  (b) have you install a device or a change in the Device Manager, just as the Code 31 error appeared? If so, it is very possible that the modification caused the Code 31 error.

  (c) cancel the change if you can restart the computer and then check again the error Code 31. Depending on the changes, some solutions may include:

  Remove or reconfigure newly installed unit.

  Restore a version prior to updating the driver.

  (1) in Device Manager > right click on the driver, and then select uninstall

  Reboot and Windows will reload the driver

  (2) remove the upper & lower filters that cause errors in Code 31

  Thanks to all who tried to help, it means a lot!  I have no idea what happens but I tried to run a complete scan with antivirus program McAfee I was BTW it was free because of the internet service gave to me to be a customer with them, (I guess they have an ongoing case) not much of a cause I had nothing else problems with McAfee all for about 5 years and they are so much better programs out there (to new my opinion) but on with my story so whenever I tried to run a full scan or fast he rode every time error cannot start scan try again and so on, so I called them and they could not understand what the problem was and finally reinstalled but it doesn't work and of course they wanted me to buy a version... So I said forget it and went with one of the best Antivirus out there (my opinion only) programs free and it scanned and found some articles ad and he never came back! So I'm lucky so far and happy! Once again thanks to Jose @ and @ John for help and getting back to me, that shows the high level of awareness and dedication... So thank you to you two! I have no idea of what the problem was I think that he had with the Ad-ware and anti virus program does not properly and somehow obtained a "bug" If you want to.   I get this error from a specialized device that uses a usb/network card connection built-in.  It is with windows 7 Home premium.  Now I know that the source of the driver.  It is the latest driver and labeled for use with Vista.  I need to override this security check, so I can use this equipment.  It is an integral part with me a living. It is likely absolutrly nothing wrong with the driver.  I downloaded from many sites without modification.  This equipment worked well under Vista.

  I found the answer by looking for other sites, it's probably here somewhere as well.  Restart the computer.  During restart, press "F8".  Select Disable Driver Signature Enforcement in the start menu.  This fixed the problem of driver in my case.
