Import a backup compressed in Oracle 10 g

Hello world

I need to restore an image from a file compressed with .exp as extension on the Windows operating system.
After searching the Web, there was more import samples on UNIX than Windows.
Has anyone restored a dump of a file (.exp) compressed Windows OS? Help, please.

Oracle Version: 10.1.0.4.0
Name of the OS & Version: Windows 2003

Thank you

Kind regards

Sunny.

Why do you think (or know) that the .exp is a compressed file? The default extension for dumping of export is .dmp. If the file has the extension .exp, then that would mean that the script file or the parameter used to create the export dump explicitly set this extension. If it has been compressed from a dmp file or is a normal (uncompressed) file that has the extension .exp is something you should ask the provider of the file.

OR just run against the file import and Oracle will be in error if it is compressed. If it is compressed, see if you can decompress with WinZip (Unzip)?

I saw SecondaryConfig.setAllowPopulate and imagine that it could be used for the backup compression.

If I only back up the primary dbs and rebuild the secondary dbs during execution of recovery, I put a lot of drive backup and bandwidth time/strip space.

Above and how can the true I achieve that?

    Hello

Which allows to SecondaryConfig.setAllowPopulate () is a secondary database be filled if it is empty. This is useful when you create a secondary database at a later date than the primary database and need the secondary image to be up-to-date with the primary and contain all secondary keys it would have contained if created at the same time with the primary.

There is no relationship between this method and the backups. Backups EI are subsequently copying all the log files (the file *.jdb in the Directory environment I or subdirectories) to the backup location. Performing backups EI is explained here:
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E17277_02/HTML/GettingStartedGuide/backup.html
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E17277_02/HTML/TransactionGettingStarted/backup.html
Recovery involves the opening environment I normal title that will automatically run the normal recovery of I. This is explained here:
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E17277_02/HTML/GettingStartedGuide/catastrophicrecovery.html
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E17277_02/HTML/TransactionGettingStarted/jecatastrophicrecovery.html

When you save, you save the files of newspapers I which contain all of the databases. You can't choose to selectively only certain log files or some parts of log files that contain nodes reflecting data from the primary database. In addition, you can't control the recovery process when opening an environment to make it only to recover some databases.

You must use a different approach outside the process of backup/restore regular EI. You can use DbDump and DbLoad either separately as utilities or programmatically from code to empty only primary databases to the location of the backup (the backup environment), then load them there. When you perform a restore, you open the environment backup (which runs the normal recovery) and the secondary databases for automatic filling of opening / creation.

Or maybe a lot easier, keep the usual backup process for an environment of I (by a backup off hot or connection, where a full backup) and after copying all the log files of *.jdb of the direct environment on the backup environment, open the backup environment, use Environment.truncateDatabase () to empty the database side, followed by a call to Environment.checkpoint () and Environment.cleanLog) only the backup nearby environment. This way, you will have a backup environment that bears the names of secondary database with these secondary databases are empty. They can be created during recovery, after the opening of the environment, when you open the secondary database configured with SecondaryConfig.setAllowPopulate (true).
Note that this approach is not feasible if you implement incremental backups, because the new log files that you copy in the backup environment will contain entries referring to the secondaries.

If you add the .json extension, it works then? Why people who design browsers or extensions them do create files with no extension name, in spite that these extension names are essential to make the files can be restored? I could never understand that.

Import & Backup is the third button in the toolbar in the library beside the organize and buttons views.

In bookmarks (library) Manager is a tool bar with back and next button and three other buttons (organize, view, import, and backup).

    • The first button (gear) is organizing with base change the menu items for the bookmarks
    • The second button is the button in the view which allows you to change the sort order for the visualization of the purpose (sort is not permanently).
    • The third button (Star) is the import and backup button that allows to save and restore a JSON backup and import and export an HTML backup and import bookmarks from other browsers.

Place each button to display the ToolTip or click on each one to see what they do.

  • After downloading the 23.0.1 version I've lost all the history, but no bookmarks. How can I recover ancient history? Recovery of "import and backup" does not help

My story memorable and kept going back quite a few months. After the release of Firefox for 23.0.1 I lost all my history and Firefox keeps only the websites visited once the new version has been installed. My favorites were selected. I tried to get back in "Import and backup", but it goes back only to the date of the new facility. I tried places.sqlite "Roaming", but there is only one with the current date. Is there a way to recover the lost history? Why Firefox was losing it? It's going to happen averytime that updates Firefox?

Manually back up your bookmarks. If you have used the 'import', you have already lost some information by overwriting. As a matter of course you should always save current bookmarks manually before using any restorations.

This way you can make sure you are able to restore the current set. Your backup .json file put a safe off-trail program or Firefox profile. The desktop of Windows or the removable media would be appropriate.

Firefox creates a bookmark, but does nothing about backup history. Fortunately Windows probably backup previous versions of your files places.sqlite and this is the database with the history and bookmarks in it. See if you can recover a recent version of this, it will restore your story up to the date of the restored file.

Then import your latest bookmarks from anywhere where they were rescued. Import replaces the slightly older bookmarks from the Windows file.

You my wish also can install and run the addon places maintenance.

That can be used to check and repair the places.sqlite database. It will give a brief report. Note If the places.sqlite runs out of space, he begins removing history.

In the future you my wish to regularly create occasional backups of your profile or at least your places.sqlite

However, I don't see anything that says "import and backup". I use Firefox 7.0.1 on Ubuntu/service Ocelot, recently updated.

Click bookmarks/view all bookmarks, and then move your mouse to the upper left corner to the Firefox Web browser.

After trying to import my favorites saved in an html file, using bookmarks > organize bookmarks > import and backup > import html, nothing is being updated from saved files

This isn't "machine code", it's like a JSON backup file is formatted (except it usually shows no line breaks, it's a long line when displaying in most text programs or in Firefox). Rename a JSON file as HTML does not work, the formats are completely different.

If you replace this file in jsonextension, you should be able to restore these data in Firefox.

    Concerning

First of all, I would never run my backups in OEM.  When the crisis comes to 02:00, I don't want to ever more parts to be involved in the recovery.

Second, the only thing approaching a 'trigger' of deletion of backups is if your backups are in the FRA... rman will be, at the time of the execution of a backup... try to remove backups obsolete if necessary to free up space in the FRA.

Other than that, oboslete backups are only deleted in response to a direct order to REMOVE OBSOLETE.  This command can optionally (as indicated by TigerDBA) includes a rule of the obsolescence of execution, or it may depend on the configuration stand.

Another thing to note is that the backups are NOT marked as obsolete.  They are EVALUATED for obsolescence in response to a command DELETE OUTDATED or OBSOLETE REPORT.

And one last thing to not is that any recovery has to start with a full backup.  It would be the most recent full-time (or level 0 incremental) backup before the point in time you need to recover.  This means that the most recent full-time (or level 0 incremental) backup will never considered as obsolete, no matter what age there.

  • Importing incremental backup full

    Hello

I would like to know if it is possible to do an increment / cumulative import export complete.

The thing is, I have a complete backup of all the days of the week and let's say I have a problem in my DB Wednesday so I would like to import a complete backup from Tuesday and a differential from Tuesday until now. Is this possible?

    (Oracle 9i)

    Thank you.

    Best regards
    Hugo

Data pump does not have an incremental backup for export or import. What if all you have are full dump files, then you can add filters if you know what you need, but Data Pump Import can not figure this out for you. This information is not stored in the dumpfile.

  • Could not import the backup of 4s to itself

    Hello

    I'm completely lost.

I bought a new iPhone SE and wanted to import my iPhone 4 s backup, however, I am not able to do.

After I connect with my Apple and my password it asks me to log in again and this time it shows another identifying unknown (23398... [email protected]) who does not recognize my password, so I click on skip this step and it brings me to another screen of connection, once again asking me to connect with other unknown ID ([email protected]) and will not recognize my password.

This is why I am unable to connect to my backup.

When I try to go then told me that my ID apple is locked for my own safety and then I go and try to unlock depending on the support pages and it shows as locked and the only option I get is to reset my password, which I did and still, still "locked."

At this point I tried to start over, erase everything and install from my iTunes, however, which only allows me to save some old version a few weeks ago and does not allow me to choose my recent backup.

I followed the help pages once again and he told me to erase everything and start over. and I went back to the same problem of unable to access my apple ID.

So for now, I had used the iTunes version because it's better than nothing, but I really want to use my most recent backup that appears in my iCloud when I access from the browser.

And also, it saves up to 2 of my phones on the cloud and occupies the entire space.

I am afraid to delete my 4S devices list because I don't want to lose all my data.

    What can I do? Help!

Where have you bought the SE of? Probably not an Apple Store because it seems to be 'used '. I take it to where you guessed it and ask them about it. A new phone NOT displayed any other Apple ID.
