journal compression archive Oracle
Dear all,Please help me how do I Compress log archiving of oracle 10 g.
Thank you
Manas
There is nothing to test. The order is for the not , such that it can create more problems than good. If this isn't a good idea to propose other solutions, backups compressed backupset or o/s compression level can help.

Why is this 45 in my case?
Kind regards.
GregHi Greg,.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of this change in terms of speed of backup/restore?
A single file means a process can read during a restore.
But if you only use a channel should not be an impact on the speed of backup and restore.On average increases the number of channels can speed things up (you should test what is optmal for your system).
Change e.g.SET UP THE DEVICE TYPE SBT_TAPE PARALLELISM 1 BACKUP BACKUPSET TYPE;
TO
SET UP THE DEVICE TYPE SBT_TAPE PARALLELISM 2 TYPE OF BACKUP BACKUPSET.

Tycho

Import a backup compressed in Oracle 10 g
Hello world
I need to restore an image from a file compressed with .exp as extension on the Windows operating system.
After searching the Web, there was more import samples on UNIX than Windows.
Has anyone restored a dump of a file (.exp) compressed Windows OS? Help, please.
Oracle Version: 10.1.0.4.0
Name of the OS & Version: Windows 2003
Thank you
Kind regards
Sunny.Why do you think (or know) that the .exp is a compressed file? The default extension for dumping of export is .dmp. If the file has the extension .exp, then that would mean that the script file or the parameter used to create the export dump explicitly set this extension. If it has been compressed from a dmp file or is a normal (uncompressed) file that has the extension .exp is something you should ask the provider of the file.
OR just run against the file import and Oracle will be in error if it is compressed. If it is compressed, see if you can decompress with WinZip (Unzip)?

Redo command of journal online in Oracle RAC
Dear,
If I have 2 Oracle RAC nodes:
Node 1:2 Online Redo log groups (Group 1 and group 2) - each Member of a group
Node 2:2 Online Redo log groups (Group 3 and group 4) - each Member of a group
Would like to know when the switch occurs on the redo log groups, it moves the Group 1 to group 2, then return in the Group 1... or
Group 1 to group 2, and group 3?
Concerning
Claude
Each Instance has a Thread. So the Instance on node 1 has 1 wire that consists of groups 1 and 2. Redo all written by instance of node 1 will always be to groups 1 and 2 only. Never to groups 3 and 4 (except if they fell and added to 1 thread)
Similarly, the instance on node 2 will write for groups 3 and 4 only.

Hello
If a database becomes inaccessible due to the mistake of archiving, what happens you to sessions that are connected to the database.
Thank you!user12842738 wrote:

The sessions will take place to stay connected. They cannot perform DML transactions until the log file online redo current/Filled dumped successfully to archive logs.
Archives newspapers will dumped successfully when you have a free space in mount point/FRA.Thank you.

LZW compress Archive Player of hair
I tried searching for an answer to this but didn't come with anything. I have a disc with about 1000 files + subfolders, filled with uncompressed tif files. I was wondering how I would go about Automation compress all with LZW compression, I want to be able to save on the same old files and do not have to go to a folder manually. I tried the Image Processor, but it would put them in a new folder called tif and I must run separately on each file. Thank you.

Problem with the archive log when you use RMAN for backup and restore (11g 2)
Hello world
Please help me solve this problem.
I'm just beginner in Oracle Database (11 g 2). Today, I had a problem, I tried to back up and restore my db by RMAN. I delete all the files in /u01/app/oracle/oradata/orcl / * , then I restore them easily, but the point is I have a table, I can restore Hungarian, but cannot restore anything ranks in it (something wrong with step restore database). I'll tell the detail below.
-First, I create a 'Day' with command table create table hr.day (varchar (20)) day. Then I backup complete by this:run{
allocate channel bkp device type DISK FORMAT '/u01/backup/DB_FULL_%d_%T_s%s_p%p' ;
backup as compressed backupset incremental level 0 tag 'DB_FULL' database include current controlfile;
backup as compressed backupset tag 'ARCL_BKP_FULL' archivelog all delete input;
crosscheck archivelog all;
crosscheck backup;
delete noprompt obsolete;
release channel bkp;
}
D ' other hand, I have insert 'Monday' to table. then do an incremental backup by this:run{
allocate channel bkp device type DISK FORMAT '/u01/backup/DB_INC_%d_%T_s%s_p%p' ;
backup as compressed backupset incremental level 1 tag 'DB_INC' database include current controlfile;
backup as compressed backupset tag 'ARCL_BKP_INC' archivelog all delete input;
crosscheck archivelog all;
crosscheck backup;
delete noprompt obsolete;
release channel bkp;
}Repeat 7 times (Monday-> Saturday). And I got these files:
[oracle@rac ~]$ ls -l /u01/backup/
total 400280

If i ignore it and open the database, just my table in full backup come back but rows was not restored. I'm sure the problem is my archive log backup but i don't know how to solve it. Plz help me.Sorry for a long post.
> 1 and from the 1205841 SNA sequence
The SCN that indicates Oracle is above the range of SNA that you have in the ArchiveLog backups for sequence 1 to 15 (15 sequence ends at 1205840).
The message
channel ORA_DISK_1: restoring archives Journal
Archives journal thread = 1 sequence = 15
channel ORA_DISK_1: backup/u01/backup/DB_INC_ORCL_20160120_s117_p1 piece reading
channel ORA_DISK_1: piece handle = / u01/backup/DB_INC_ORCL_20160120_s117_p1 tag = ARCL_BKP_INC
indicates that he has restored the sequence up to 15
You can check the log file alert database instance for messages on the fact of recovery.
He is now asking sequence #1 it seems you did a RESETLOGS after sequence #15.
Note: If you have NOT issued a COMMIT after the line is INSERTED in the table 'Day', the recovery of the database will have no * transactions * to retrieve. An uncomitted transaction is cancelled.

duplicate with compressed and the section size options in #db12c
Hello
I am able to 12.1.0.1 duplicate (from database) database to the destination successfully server,
However, when I add is compressed backupset size or "" to duplicate the command
recovery at the end of the operation fails due to lack of archiving log (which is on the source server)
Someone knows the same?

Oracle db host1 and host2 restore failed
Hello
Oracle DB 11 g 2/Centos 6.5 x 64/AANP 7.6
I test the restoration of the BNU 1 host to another host. Although this configuration will as well as the configuration of NBU, I think that this question of my Oracle RMAN.
Configure a database even with the same instance name (the two default installation), the settings for the restoration. Then restore with RMAN.
RMAN > run {allocate channel ch00 type 'sbt_tape';
2 > Send "NB_ORA_CLIENT is host1.lab.tec";.
3 > restore database;
4 > restore database;
5 > output channel ch00;
{6 >}
I have a problem when restoring. After the recovery is complete, I can run and start db OK.
SQL > alter database open resetlogs;
Database altered.
But this is a small test db, I'm worried if I do it in a real environment. Wihout solve this problem, I would like to get troulbe. Hope someone can help with this.

If you have not specified a DEFINED point UNTIL Oracle might attempt a COMPLETE recovery. It is possible that at the time of the backup, suite #11 remained a newspaper online redo and not yet archived on. If so, you would SET UNTIL SEQUENCE 11 while Oracle would cease after having applied the #10 sequence

Weve got a site that seems to give us the following error sporadically, is there someone with the same experience or know how what to do or maybe all tracks at the location of the research would be very welcome.

You have two different sets of errors. ORA-314/312 and ORA-16038/19502.
Events of waiting will not help you.
For the 312-314, look back through your journal DBA actions and see if the startup log file has been overrwritten by the DBA.
For the 16038/19052, check if your archivelog destination is full. Check your FastRecoveryArea. Check the ownership and permissions.
OR just connect an SR and let the Oracle Support to worry about what you should be concerned.

Gap in the sequence of the Archive
Hello
I have a Setup primary and physical the previous day. However, there seems to be a gap in my journal sequence archive, resulting the issue ORA-16724 Broker cannot solve gap
I narrowed down it to 1 sequence archive is missing on my primary. I think that this may have arisen because the following command has been issued on the primary
change the database clear no archived logfile Group 1;
Q1. Is - what the reason for the gap of newspaper archive?
I have no way to restore the missing log archiving (because it was never created in the first place because of the above command)
Q2. How can I get my primary and Standby back in harmony? I'm not worried about the loss of data, I want to just the pair of primary / secondary working again
I had no Flashback database enabled on the primary at the time loss of archive (I do now!)
any help appreciated,

Q1. Is - what the reason for the gap of newspaper archive?
I have no way to restore the missing log archiving (because it was never created in the first place because of the above command)
Is it intentional or database was not able to check when issuing this command? whatever if you clear a log file that is necessary for recovery and then you cannot recover. Because the specific data in the redo log were not archived and thus caused archive GAP.
Q2. How can I get my primary and Standby back in harmony? I'm not worried about the loss of data, I want to just the pair of primary / secondary working again
I had no Flashback database enabled on the primary at the time loss of archive (I do now!)
Still even if you have not enabled flashback database, you can synchronize primary and standby databases, check out this link to perform differentials rolls forward in sleep mode

ORA-16014: connect 2 sequence # 283 not archived, not available destinations
ORA-00312: wire 2 1 online journal: ' / home/app/oracle/oradata/PRIMARYP/redo02.log'
I can get the ok of the instance, but not actually open the database
My db_recovery_file_dest_size is 22 GB and and the mount point defined by db_recovery_file_dest has pleanty of free space
Also

Can anyone help!
Thanks, Jim
The broker indeed seems to have changed all parameters of LOG_ARCH_DEST_n when I did a swap / switchback using the PRIMARYP and STANDBYP databases.
Data not archived clear alter logfile Group 1;
indeed to create a space that was insoluble. I had to rebuild / recover the standby

The Archive Log backup retention policy
How can I define retention policy for backups of the log of the Archives?
The question and the answer that you have marked as "Right answer" is misleading.
For removal of journal policy archived, see below.
Configuration of RMAN environment
For the real question displayed "How can I define retention policy for backups of the log of the archives?", see link below. ""
