Import / Export of database resources

I try to import a database resource object that was exported from another server of vco. Resource items are created during import, however the database object is not. The log shows the following error. Any ideas?

Hello!

First: try to run the workflow of updating database, it allows you to enter and reset the password!

Background: as far as I know the passwords are encrypted with a specific server of vCO 'salt'. If the vCO destination server should not even able to decrypt the password for the database stored in this element of resource.

See you soon,.

Hello

I need to export the database to a server and import it on another server db using the export function of database under the Tools menu in SQLl developer. How to import it? This is for Oracle database 10g.

Hello

I think it generates the file .sql containing all the objects that you are exported. Then you can simply open the target database file and run as a script. Also, there is another forum for sqldeveloper related issues.

• Question regd import/export feature of CUCM BAT

Hello

We have a production cluster CUCM 8.6 running.

I was asked to create models of translation of 300-400.

I see that I can not do this directly through bat. But I can't see the import/export option.

We have 1000's of existing patterns of translation on our system.

I have a small question about the import feature.

A new import overwrites existing data in the database that contains the data in the import file or because the new data in the import file added to the existing data.

If the import file has only the new models of translation, it will eliminate the existing patterns of translation in the system?

I don't have a system of cucm lab to verify this behavior?

Can you please help me on this query?

Thank you

Pete

I often do and it's the only way to bulk add translation models. It removes all the reasons for translation it will only add/edit the translation model. If all the new models it will simply add your new entries.

• Import/Export

Is it possible, inside of SQL Developer to save an import or export "specification", which is a collection of settings that you can reuse for the same operation over and over again? It would be something along the lines of a file of data pump setting. I am familiar with data pump (I don't want to move data between databases) and current export/import features and I have not seen anywhere.

Whenever you cross an import or export operation will have to answer a lot (ok, some) of questions and it would be really nice if you could answer these questions, save your answers and then reuse/edit your answers until you get exactly what you want. I'm going through the procedure about 4 - 5 times on imports until I get just as it should and have to answer questions throughout each time.

Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate the fact that import/export have been made relatively easy with tools SQL Developer provides. It just seems it is pretty trivial to save a group of settings and then call them back if you want to reuse.

Anyone else experiencing the same thing? Maybe I'm just hurt.

Sincerely curious.

Earl

We have added just this feature for imports in 4.1

Click on the button 'save state' to save your import settings (an import from Excel or CSV)

so the next time you perform an import-

Click on the button "Restore"

This file can also generate scripts to import using the SDCLI program (it's a command line for SQL interface Developer run formats, exports, imports, downloads of cloud, unit tests, etc.)

Export - if you use the shopping cart to make your export, you can save the settings for this too.

Hello

Is it a good idea (to save time) to run that many imports (against a different database of course) the same value van export files, using import/export utility Datapump?

I mean from several orders impdp using the same on different databases dump file.

Kind regards.

Hello

I assumed you would be explicitly name the log file for each separate so task would not a problem - you can even separate the log file in a separate Directory from the dumpfiles using the DIR:file syntax - should not be the same directory as the dumpfiles.

If you tried to use the same log file then they would probably crush each other data or you will get a file very messy - but I don't think that jobs would fail...

• Import/Export of ASD and the anti-marechal (a bit like a villain)

Just tried to export a single action resource and re-import them in the same environment with a new "prefix" and I get the following errors during the validation... Ditto for import into another environment. (which we will call 'new environment'... where the resource Action does not exist) The workflow that the RA points to exist in the current environment because there is a RA already pointing this workflow. In the new environment, the workflow is due to a successful synchronization vRO. (we can then build a form successful against the flow of work in the new environment.)

It seems he's complaining about the Type of resource, but none who have been selected for export... then one would expect that they would not be imported.

Everyone try to import/export features in the DSA and have it succeed?

When we build a form in our lab environment, we must completely rebuild in two other environments. Although the creation of forms in the DSA is extremely fun and intuitive, we would really like to have the ability to export/import of work!

Support made me the right answer...

Essentially export does not create a ZIP file containing all the files that are required for the import. It will be fixed in the next version.

For items that you export, you must manually create the folder in the zip file. These are all the files that should exist. In the example, I have a plan of services exported. I think if I did a single resource-operation, I see only this folder and would need to add the other three. (off to test more than now)

• Issue of Import/Export

I have a table that has a LOB column in it in a database, I want to take the export of the same table with LOB column and even import from other databases.

Can I ignore this LOB column and import the rest of the table?
SQL> select * from v$version;

Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bi
PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.5.0 - Production
CORE    10.2.0.5.0      Production
TNS for HPUX: Version 10.2.0.5.0 - Production
NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.5.0 - Production

Why you try to use the export and import in the first place to move data between different databases Oracle? Is there a reason that you don't simply create a link of database to the target database in the source database and then make a DEC, i.e.

CREATE TABLE copy_of_prod
AS
SELECT <>
FROM prod_table@link_to_prod;

Generally, it would be more effective than using export and import, it is more flexible.

• Import/Export physical model 3.0.0.665 Build 665

I have several patterns (logical and physical models) database created in Data Modeler 1.0. I thought I could just import the .xml [database] recorded in the Data Modeler 3.0 file migrated all my data Data Modeler 1.0. However, this method imported everything except the physical model. I also tried to import the XML in the subdirectory pm, but that was an error ("could not generate design.")

I tried explicitly export towards the design of data model, but I can only see the logical and relational models. There is no physical model in the list of objects to export.

Is this a bug? Or is there another method to migrate all data from Data Modeler 1.0 to 3.0?

Gail Binkley
Stanford

You can use version 3.0 to open version 1.x (file-> open). The tool will do a conversion/upgrade automatically in the drawing or model. Then you perform a save as to save the improved design. There is no need to do an export and import process.

• is it good to create dataguard or import/export is better for getng reports

Hi all

I want to help experts... suggest me to generate reports in DB... I need to create new DB... is good to create DATAGUARD or import/export of new DB DB.

THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME

Your report takes too much time on your RAC database production, therfore you want to run the report on a different database?
I stop questioning the purpose of this requirement and to focus on the technical aspects of the solution, although I strongly suspect
You should review the requirement and think of more conventional methods to speed up the report.

You take another server with similar or better quality equipment or a lot less load than your production server.
Install Oracle Sources on it
To implement an Oracle Net connection to your production server
Clone your database of prod on this server (simple RMAN duplication)
Run the report here
compare the runtime

If you have done this, and the runtime is to your complete satisfaction - go on your preferred option as discussed previously.

Kind regards

• Cube Essbase de-disposition with import/export utility

I am trying to set up a strategy of short downtime with Essbase cubes in 9.3.1.4 (using Shared Services) in which I do the following:

1. build the DemoX cube while the demo is accessed by the user database
2. once DemoX is built, and rename the demo Deroy
3 Rename DemoX in demo
4 rename amel DemoX

The issue is that cube demo must have supply group at the base of users, while the DemoX should not be visible.
Security during the steps to rename page layout looks like this:

1 demo: user Prov.
DemoX: develop Prov.

2 Deroy: user Prov. (rename demo)
DemoX: develop Prov.

3 DemoX: user Prov. (rename of amel)
Demo: develop Prov. (rename of amel)

Using the CSSExport.bat utility, I created an xml with the commissioning document correct demo and DemoX BEFORE I went through the name change process.
The demo shows the provisioning of user base group and DemoX has only development supply group. I analyzed only the sections of the XML provisioning group and created new documents to xml for import.

Once the name change is done, I was able to use the utility CSSImport to grant groups of user base for the 'new' cube demo - it works very well.
However, I need to remove the core group of users commissioning of the 'new' DemoX cube.

When I use the CSSImport.bat and the property of 'delete' in the file importexport.properties, it does not remove the user base groups in the DemoX cube. Not only that, but it makes the security of the cube in a State where it won't refresh more security of shared services (if I have the provision of Shared Services after CSSImport/delete, the SS will show as out put in service, but Essbase won't remove groups - even after a refresh of the SS). I am forced to delete the cube DemoX and re-create it so that safety will work correctly between SS and Essbase.

Anyone know if you can supply out of a cube by using the CSSImport.bat statement in conjunction with the statement "delete" in the importexport.properties file? I don't know if I'm running into a bug with the software, or try to use the import/export utility incorrectly. The utility manual seems to indicate that you should be able to available.

Thank you!

Yes, I have installed Shared Services and Essbase is recorded in the SS. You can change the security always with MAXL, the only thing you need to do in Shared Services is available to access Essbase server to the user or group (we only use external LDAP groups). I usually configure the Essbase server access and a read access to groups, then use scripts to change.

I run 2 scripts, one to prepare the database for loading, the second which renames the reporting and renames it the newly loaded data.

It is a sample of the second script.

change demo application disable connects;
modify the application of the system of unloading demo;
change demo application and rename Deroy;
modify application Deroy enable links;

grant no_access on request Deroy to 'Group_Read ';
grant read on the database DemoZ.DemoZ to 'Group_Review ';

modify application DemoX disable links;
modify the application of the DemoX unloading system;
modify the DemoX application and rename the demo;
change enable demo application links;

grant read on the database Demo.Demo to 'Group_Read ';
grant read on the database Demo.Demo to 'Group_Review ';

I have 2 groups, the review group can see both. Read can see a. I use 3 names as you do, but only 2 exist at the same time.

Script1
Deroy rename DemoX

Script2
Demo rename Deroy
Rename DemoX demo

• 10.1-> 11 g via import/export, not DBUA - notice?

We have a 10.1.0.4 database which is rather simple: tables, indexes, sequences, and that's it. No user PL/SQL or Java - fairly simple stuff.

We must move to GR 11, 1 material and my plan was to build a new database of 11 GR 1 material, export patterns of the 10.1 database and import them into the new. It is not a large amount of data. This also has the advantage of having the two available DBs at the same time (old and new).

A colleague attended a local Oracle conference and the presenter said about ten times "If you're going to upgrade, you MUST use DBUA! Very important! You will have big problems if you do not! "Then, he wants to use DBUA. My opinion is that we are not 'modernize' but rather export/import and it is conceptually very simple.

I'm curious to know if it is really nothing wasted in my method of import/export. My thought is that the new 11 GR 1 material database will be set up properly and cleanly, and we simply add data itself. He was a little scared of speaking ;-)

Thoughts?

Hello

If you know exactly the content of your drawings, it is easy to import/export and check the result.

As you say, by export/import, you can compare 2 databases and control how your application works on the new database.

I did several migrations and, so far, has no need to use DBUA.

I understand that for a large (or complex) database DBUA may be the best way, but for a simple and small database, I'd rather import/export too.

To help you in your choice, you will find attached a link on how to upgrade:

http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/B28359_01/server.111/b28300/TOC.htm

You will find the method of import and export on Chapter 7.

Hope this helps.
Best regards

• Import/Export DataPump for refreshing production ERP test

Hi all

We have 11i Oracle applications running on AIX 5.3ML8 production and test. The production is autonomous with the basic 10.2.0.4 and test is RAC with database version 10.2.0.4.

Now the question is that we intend to update the Test with production every night. We plan to use Datapump Import/Export for that. I just wanted to know from you guys, if any body has a bad experience using this utility with ERP.

Thank you and best regards,
Vijay

Vijay,

I am sensitive on the use of export/import to me because someone told me that with ERP type database we should not use Export/Import, although he was not able to specify the exact reason for this. Y at - it no problem using Import/Export the ERP database refresh?

Using import/export is supported with Oracle Apps database (for the database full exp/imp and certain patterns such as custom). The Apps schema, I think that it is not supported due to the dependencies of the object and the integrity constraints. However, you can open an SR to confirm this with the support of the Oracle.

Kind regards
Hussein

• 8i/windows 2000 server and import export in 10g / windows 2003

We took the 8i/windows 2000 server and import export in 10g / windows 2003 server.

I created the empty database in 10g (sys, sysaux, temporary table space) and

made other tablespaces from the database of parnet with autoextet

When importing in 10 g / windows server 2003, it throws IMP-00015

After importing all trying to connect to other databases using db link (created before export), the error message is ora-02019.

HOW TO GET ALL THE privileges to use & roles (sys & object) after importation.

Another thing is to know how to check the integrity of a database after importing in 10g.

What are the steps I need to take before exporting?

I have disabled all triggers before importation, what I need to do before exporting?

I activated all triggers after the import.
