Import formats
I have a project to create a video from footage shot with a ZR900 (MiniDV camcorder). Problem is the camera and 13 hours of recording are from across the country. So I have to help the owner of the camera through the process of getting images of your device and on unacceptable media.
The owner has a computer compatible firewire and transfer software (Windows Moviemaker). What parameters the owner must use in order to preserve the native quality import on PE4? I guess Moviemaker will transfer to AVI - would be - this the best format?
Thank you...
Output DV - AVI Type 1, which many have used as PE import with no problems movieMaker.
The ultimate would be an output format of DV - AVI Type 2, as some experienced isuues of sync with Type 1.
I used 1 Type of MovieMaker for awhile and have yet to see import in PE perfectly.
DV - AVI is a format completely uncompressed and will give the best quality directly from the source.
Shipping to France, with regard to the three Options of recordable discs are DVD @ 4.7 GB, DVD double layer @ concert 9.0, Bluray @ 25 gig and Bluray double layer @ 50 concerts.
Figure 13 concert for every hour of the source video in DV - AVI conversion.
Choose your support and do the math.
(Maybe not a bad idea to burn 1 disc and ship to test it on your end.) If it works as it should, then tear and ship)...

Hello world

In import format jump, I used and I wrote the script to import to Skip like this
Dim strAccount
"Store the first value of the account
strAccount = strField
' Check if the value is empty
If strAccount = "RIN", "EUR" then
"Line break
Res .PblnSkip = True
On the other
AccountEmptySkip = strAccount
End if
End Function
When I import the import all records. his recordings not INR jumps and EUR
Can someone help me solve this
The problem here is that you mix the jump feature implementations. You can specify Skip in the name of the Format field import from files of fixed length, where it will then evaluate the expression to see if it matches all characters in the specified file. For delimited files, you will need to use a script to import, to evaluate and to apply the criteria of Skip here.
What you need to do is the following:
(1) change your import format to below
Field name field number expression several fields
Account 4 1 Script = Skip.uss
CostCenter 3 4
Amount 4 4
(2) modify the Skip.uss script as follows:
Dim strSkip
strSkip = DW. Utilities.fParseString (strRecord, 4, 2,",")
If strSkip = "INR" GOLD strAccount = "" EUR Then
SelectCADLines = strField
On the other
Res .PblnSkip = True
End if
This assumes that your file is delimited by commas, if not change the delimiter (in bold) on the 2nd line of the script above to what you use as the delimiter in your source file.

FDMEE attribute Setup in the Import Format
I'm on 11.1.2.3.510 and I have columns enabled in Workbench attributes.
Then I tried to use the attribute fields in my Format to import and it will fail to export.
Will there be a concrete way of these fields in the Format to import the configuration?
My file is delimited by commas and although loads less attributes fields.

Hello
attributes of the dimensions specified in the import format does not affect the export. Attributes are used only in FDMEE and not exported to the EMP application target.
To import data into the size attribute simply configure your format to import by adding and assigning columns sources their (Add > Dimension attribute).

Fixed-width import format FDM &; periods/accounts question
Hi experts FDM.
I have a problem I wanted to tender out to you on about the fixed-width import formats and how to meet my current scenario for export to Hyperion Planning.
I work with a flat file (.txt), I need to import the FDM with the current format;A B C D E F G ... Z Year Channel Product MTD-account-Jan 1 MTD-account-Jan 2 Jan-VOE-account1 Jan-VOE-Account2 .... Dec-CDA-Account2 2013 Channel_1 Product_1 1000 2000 1000 2000 10000 These are all fixed in width for the field lengths must be defined in the import format. The obligation for the loading of the system is only a speciifc value account 1 and account 2 months a year.
If my choice month is 2013 Jan, I need only the columns F and G to be charged. These are the issues I've identified;
- A fixed-width import format can accommodate for the loading of multiple accounts in the same file? Or I would need a format to import separated by account?
- A fixed-width import format can accommodate for variable current months loading? Or do I 12 import formats/sites per month?
Your help is very appreciated!
Thank you very much

MultiLoad - import vs. Import Format Expressions cards
Hello
I'm running an issue while trying to use the multiload models. Loading with an enitty that I declared in the importation of expressions format, these expressions are not reported to multiload data unless these expressions are shown on the maps to import. I wonder if this is really the case, that the multiload function does not reference the Import Format but refers only the cards of import for the mapping. Is this the case?
Thank you
Adam
you are right in your thinking. the multiload text / excel layout is actually the multiload import format. If you look at Chapter 11 of the guide API FDM, it details the steps THAT FDM is going through for each type of process.

Invalid character import format
I accidentally created an import with a format & who's bad character for FDM. It allow me to create the import format, but now I get an error page whenever I try to access the Import Format screen. This prevent me to remove the problematic import format. I tried to export import formats, remove the bad in the file xml and re - import but it did not work.
No idea how to do to remove this import format?The only way to solve this problem is directly in the database.
There is no workaround available via the web or at the bench.

The Variables of Substitution Essbase and import Formats
Does anyone know please this is a way to use Substitution Essbase values variables in scripts of FDM Import Format? We want to load data using FDM to Essbase based on the current version substitution variable (i.e. & CurVersion), so that data is sent against the correct member.
We have tried to write "& CurVersion" in the respective column of the. DAT file, however, Essbase is impossible to import data to "& CurVersion", throwing an error saying that it is not a member is valid (even with the symbols of rating removed)
The FDM Essbase adapter allows substitution variables to use? If so, how can we go about it? The only other alternatives that we can think of are:
(a) process the. DAT file before it is imported into Essbase, to replace all occurrences of "& CurVersion ' with the value of the variable real possibility of substitution retrieved using MaxL within a batch script)
(b) load the data to another Member and copy within Essbase with a calc script.
A better solution would be preferable!Use a load rule of FDM to load the data, ignore the FDM version value in the .dat file and set the rule of the load to use the substitution variable in its header for the size of the Version.

Import Format script to update multiple fields
Following my previous post yesterday (Import Format script required for work in several areas , now I need my script import to Update several fields (two) at the same time, based on criteria across multiple fields. ) So far, I can use DW. Utilities.fParseString to assess values across several fields, but now I need to update not only the field in question, but also an additional field at the same time. For example:
Function TBService (strField, strRecord)
"How to upgrade a second field at the same time?
Dim strField2 As String
If left (strField, 1) = "S" Then
If DW. Utilities.fParseString (strRecord, 3, 8, ',') = 'B1110"Then
strField2 = "N101.
On the other
strField2 = 'network n/a '.
End If
TBService = strField
On the other
TBService = "Service s/o".
End If
End Function
Is it still possible? Should I look for to create an event script that would work subsequent to importation? Or is it possible here in the import script?The second field you are trying to manipulate should have its own import script.

Import Format script required to work in multiple areas
I am currently building an import Format and the use of scripts to import datapump on several of the fields to implement the specific logic based on present values. For example:
Function TBNetwork (strField, strRecord)
If left (strField, 1) = "N" Then
TBNetwork = strField
On the other
TBNetwork = 'network n/a '.
End If
End Function
However, I need to also assess the values in other areas also, but two default entries of the function are strField and strRecord.
How can I achieve this? Can I declare new variables and define as well?
StrCustomer = varValues (23)
Or am I looking for to implement another type of script? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!strRecord represents the line of all the data from your source file that is currently being processed. You can analyze this to get the values of your data use/evaluate line in your script. There is a script Accelerator DW. Utilities.fParseString that will make the analysis of the channel for you. As you probably know strField returns only the field of the data file that you specified in your format of import for the associated dimension.

Book level - import formats and master pages
Hi all
I am very new to writing scripts for framemaker (and a perfect beginning to script) and I find a little difficult to find information in an environment that I do not know in. Maybe you can help me.
What I would do:
I would like to be able to change master pages, page layouts, paragraph formats and character formats in the first document of a book and then run the script, which will be
- import pages masters and the first document formats into other documents (just like if go you via file > import > Format),.
- the book was updated.
In the folder in the installation folder example scripts, I found an example script which runs through all the documents in a book:
Book = app. ActiveBook;
comp = book. FirstComponentInBook;
while(COMP. ObjectValid())
{
Open (comp. name);
nextComp is comp. NextBookComponentInDFSOrder;
prevComp is comp. PrevBookComponentInDFSOrder;
compType is comp. BookComponentFileType;
Log ("BookComponent.log", "CompName"- + comp. name);
Log ("BookComponent.log", "comp" file Type - + compType);
Log ("BookComponent.log", "Component Type (FDLR, Grp, line)-" + comp.ComponentType);
Log ("BookComponent.log" + "PreviousCompName" prevComp.Name-);
Log ("BookComponent.log" + "nextCompName" nextComp.Name-);
Log ("BookComponent.log", "-");
component Process here.
model = nextComp;
}
open function (filename)
{
openProp = GetOpenDefaultParams()
i = GetPropIndex (openProp, constant. FS_FileIsOldVersion)
.propVal.ival = constant .FV_DoOK openProp [i]
i = GetPropIndex (openProp, constant. FS_FontNotFoundInCatalog)
.propVal.ival = constant .FV_DoOK openProp [i]

.propVal.ival = constant .FV_DoCancel openProp [i]
retParm = new PropVals()
docOpen = Open (filename, openProp, retParm);
Return docOpen;
}
function Log (logFile, textLine)
{
file = new File ("C:\\ESLog\\"+logFile);
leader. Open ("a +", "TEXT","?");
leader. Write (TextLine + "\r");
leader. Close();
}
Makes me started a little. I saw the line here //process component / /, and I am a little familiar with programming and scripting. I sort of see how it works in principle. But then I'm at a loss.
I know there is a lot of documentation on scripting FrameMaker (I have the script guide). But I can't find the corresponding information without spending hours of learning.
Could someone help me?
Huge gratitude in advance!
Matthias
Hi Matthias,
While Jang was cooking a script, I have too, so here's my version... that the duel begins!
An essential point about your original message... that the example script is almost here, everything you need to add was:
-A line to remember the first document in the book. You will see that in the script of Jang where he defines 'sourceDoc' and my script where I define "firstDoc.
-A call to SimpleImportFormats() on each document to import this first document formats. You will see that in both scripts.
In addition, the example script included a lot of logging that was not really relevant to the task you want to complete, so I simplified the logging to be easier to apply. You don't want logging at all... in which case you might lose the Log() lines. It was just something useful sample showed how to do.
Jang script includes a function to search for a document currently open before you attempt to open it from the file system. I think it is good practice and something I would work myself in a script like this.
My script includes checking for a file of open book, in which case the book window is currently active. You can or don't want that. I put that much because it's often a pain to have to remember that the book window must be active.
In any case, with this, enjoy!
Russ

Dear all,
How to copy the parameter FDM (import format, mapping of dimension, table of control) of application to another application.
I found that one dimension mapping can be imported. Is it possible to copy the FDM application quickly?

Hi all
I'm working on an upgrade 11.1.1.3 11.1.2.3 FDMEE. Please advise on the underside.
I have a data file that is long of 14 columns and format import concatenate columns 4 + 6 + 14. FDM 11.1.1.3 it was an import script that uses the following logic:
Dim strICP
If strField = "" then
BlankICP = "1500".
On the other
BlankICP = strField
End If
When I try to use the same logic of Jython, instead of vb script below Jython interpreter not the last empty column as a null and does not replace the null value with the correct value that interferes with my similar cards. This logic works with other scripts to import as long as it is added to a column of the concatenated string that isn't the end of the file. Note: there is no space in column 14, when it is empty.
Sample file:
2014 | 1. 1500_01 | 027 | 51510 | Trading | 5000 | USD | Segments | Trading |
2014 | 1. 1505_02 | 037. 51510 | Trading | 750. GBP | Segments | Trading | Full
def BlankICP (strfield, strrec):
If strfield == "":
Returns "null".
Another thing:
return "Not null".
Valid in FDMEE to:
02751510
03751510NotNull
Ok
I noticed that it checks the null value when parsing the value of the field:
So basically he does not apply the import script when the source field is null
If you change the value empty by white space, then it works fine:
Solution: create only a single line of PKI and place the script to concatenate all areas:
I suggest you raise an SR to ask for the handling of empty values in the import scripts. At least for script evaluation process.
Let's see if there is another workaround solution.

I * hated * the new import dialog box so actually have several cards which have just been collectible images in recent months. I was so happy to hear that Adobe has put the old import returns with this version. I've upgraded LR, jumped into one of my cards, was delighted to see the old format which shows me the destination directories and allows me to their collapse downwards, then uncheck the box. Then I collapse all and select a date, choose metadata presets (location) and add keywords for this event and import. Beautiful... so far now, in the next few days. Or so I thought.
I click Import the 2nd time, the card reader flashes for a bit, then stops - no image showing to import. GMA
-J' I doublecheck the setting of the "export map" - he did not review. But I have reinstall the card anyway. Nothing.
-J' have check in Windows Explorer - Yes, a lot of ships there to import.
-Well, maybe he thinks he imported, so I uncheck the "don't import suspected fooled no" (which used gray-just out them anyway)-nothing.
-J' I quit and restart Lightroom. Nothing.
-J' I plug the card reader into a different USB port. Nothing.
Adobe WTF? I have never seen this one before. I'll reboot the PC right then, but thought I would ask if others see it too...
Well, I'm distracted: my line "I have never seen anything like this before ' was BS. 6 months ago I * fact * see the solution and it was to switch the triangle next to folders to destination according to another thread. Fortunately, just after the announcement, some screen I went to in the forums showed me my past behaviour, and there was the answer. This bug is apparently still there - if your images to import will not be displayed, try clicking on the Panel of the destination folder on the right side of the dialog box and they'll pop right back in - they have just made for me. I wish you to understand why this is happening and why they have not fixed.

Problems with the plugin plugInModeGray32 imageMode import format?
Hi people,
I have a format plugin where I have everything works fine with plugInModeGray16 to import, but I would really eventually have more precision. If I try
formatRecord-> imageMode = plugInModeGray32; formatRecord-> depth = 32; He throws up, even if I actually do not set the buffers. With the help of pluginModeGray16 and not affecting don't not tampons gets me a picture empty but dimensioned correctly. Is there a limitation with do import 32-bit files?
Reference, I saw on another thread a few years back where someone couldn't use plugInModeRGB96 and was falling back to plugInModeRGB48 for the contents of 32-bit so it seems that there is something that you can travel there, but nothing in the thread suggested a solution.
Thank you
Eric
So I did some more research and found the problem in the case of other successes for the. Even through pluginModeGray16 is what is expected, Photoshop do not like plugInModeGray32 and really wants that you just use plugInModeGrayScale;
formatRecord-> imageMode = plugInModeGrayScale; formatRecord-> depth = 32;
I have not tried, but I suspect the other dev having problems with plugInModeRGB96 might be the same problem. Just use RGB and set the 32-bit/channel in the depth.
Kind regards
Eric

PSD import - format or corrupted file unsuppported
Hello. Discussions previous, similar, does not quite seem to meet this strange issue. I have Photoshop CS3, CS4 PP on Windows 7 64 bit.
Working on a PAL format 16:9 widescreen 01:45, I managed to import a PSD multi-layer 1024 x 576 pixel RGB square as a sequence. I was in Photoshop and edited the graphic layers / add and reimported with success several times.
Today, when I added more layers, I got the consignment that the file is damaged or is an unsupported format, and it won't matter is no longer. If I save the file as a TIF in layers, PP CS4 will be important - but only as a two-dimensional image. The dynamic link remains intact because the previously imported layers are still available in PP.
What's changed: yesterday, I had a problem of Media Encoder which is a known bug if PP CS3 has previously been on the system (dynamic links does not). The solution was to PP CS4 to uninstall and reinstall. This has solved the problem of Media Encoder. It would be responsible for my current problem?
Thanks in advance.
Jonty MS
These small layers trigger the bug. You can merge only those
in the biggest layers?
