Import from a DV tape->; .avi with about 14 GB/hour
Hello
I imported DV tapes ~ 45 to my computer, each about 14 GB of size of .avi files... I would like to compress these files before you import them into Premiere Elements... Has started to convert .mkv (~ 2 GB per hour) but surrendered counts EP did not support that...
Any suggestions of what I should use? I want minimum loss of quality (of course)... A reasonable size for me would be 2-4 GB per hour.
Best regards, Tobbe G
If the storage is the motivation for the compression, so I suggest buying external HARD drives.
Compression will degrade the quality, and which can never be recovered. If you then change and / the share of exports to a Tablet format/CODEC such as MPEG - 2 DVD, for the creation, you will lose even more.
If you need to do compression heavy and don't care about quality, then maybe watch WMV, but it will take CPU power to process these files.
Formats/s CODEC, such as MKV, DivX and Xvid, formats of delivery only and are not intended to change. The choice is yours.
Good luck
