Import of XML in first Pro CC: "generic error".

First off, I've read all the threads related to this problem, but I have a few questions. I'm relatively new to Adobe Premiere (used 7 FCP forever) so I'm still know it, please bear with me.

I got a hard drive from a client who told me that he has digitized all his records in first. (A screenshot is below). When I went to import into CC APP, it says "Importer reporter an generic error."

In the video folder (an another screenshot below), there are dozens of MXF files.  These import fine. Video and audio are good.

Screen Shot 2013-12-18 at 11.23.29 AM.png

There are 37 files XML and MXF 37 files, it seems that they match perfectly. Should I just ignore these XMLs? Can I use these MXFs instead?

Again, I'm a newbie, so if someone could shed some light on this for me, I'd be happy. Thank you!

In fact, there is nothing wrong here.  These XMLs should not be imported.  They are just files sidecar metadata generated by the provider of the camera, they import as assets by themselves.

What you really want to do is to shoot to the top of the media browser panel to watch these clips & import your selects from the project, rather than use the finder / import files.  Summaries of Media Browser on all the garbage you don't care & you will display just thumbnails of the clips. He's going to represent same split clips as just a big piece of media.

  • Import old project in first Pro CC

I have an old project that, at the time when the computer was not able to handle HD files. So I converted the widescreen HD1920 x 1080 to 720 x 480. Today, I would like to import this project in first Pro CC using the HD original files.

Import alright and I unchecked file extensions match so I could tell him where to find the HD files. But the time line still think that these files are Standard video .avi rather than new HD files. So, I see only a part of the video. Even if I export to Media Encoder Source said 720 x 480.

My question is how can I tell the sequence that files on the timeline are now HD 1920 x 1080 and treat them properly?

    Hi Michelle,

Go to the settings of sequence/sequence and stand mode editing custom first, then size of video image 1920 x 1080, which was the size of the original frame of your HD files.

It will change the size of your sequence, you can also adjust the size of the pixels just below the frame size of video to adjust the proportions of the clips to fit into a base.

  • Impossible to import the MTS with first Pro CC (2014)

I have the problem with first Pro CC (2014) and Media Encoder CC (2014). "Compression of media is not supported" (or something like that, it's in German...)

After effects CC (2014) and Prelude CC (2014) there is no problem to import these files.

MTS to a Panasonic SC-V550, files from a folder structure of AVCHD, 1080 p 50 fps.

I already did a project with the file of the theses in first Pro CC a few months ago!

    Hi Das modular,

Move media to another directory, drive, or simply change the name of the folder where your media. You should be able to import the files after that.

  • Help! Dropout regular while importing video HDV on first Pro CS5.

Despite all the research, I am at a loss of responses with this one. Hoping that some may have a good suggestion for a solution.

I've been using my camcorder Sony HDV HVR - V1P for awhile through Premiere Pro CS4 and now have CS5. I had no previous issues with abandon, aside from the very occasional drop out, which I understand may be due to faulty tape, dirty heads etc.

I don't think it's my problem now, and I will explain why.

On my last batch of tape dropouts on the tapes occurs regularly, and I say well regularly. I could almost 58 seconds between each leg. This has happened more than 5 bands, some of them from different batches (used HDV Sony mini DV tapes). Now believe it may be a dirty head problem, or even a bad batch of ribbons, I picked up some of the bands. The surprising thing is the abandonment occurred yet, but they are in different places on the Strip. So if the abandonment took place on specific portions of the film before, he now abandoned in other sections and as regularly as before. Then of course, lack of camera? I don't believe it. I captured some of the images with a second camera where abandonment show also in the catches. I also tried to capture images using the second camera in case there was a problem of output or fault. School drop-outs has yet occurred. I also tried different tracks with the same result. I also captured the images on different hard drives on the PC, still no change. With all the attempts of the sequence was captured as mpeg clips as I always did before with success.

If I send this Hail Mary hoping someone may know the cause, or have a suggestion, why this happens all of a sudden. Nothing on my system has changed and am running 64-bit Windows and have a lot of speed and ram. I ran first pro, AfterEffects and photoshop similaneously progams and PC faces very well.

Appreciate any suggestions. Or any other ideas of what to try to locate the problem.

    Thanks in advance.

I would look at the processes running until I started watching material error.

  • First reporting a generic error to replace clip AE

    Hi guys

I'm currently working on a project with a lot of greenscreen work.

I do all my AE FORCED with keylight and mattes.

The editing is done in first with my "raw" images from cameras Sony NEX VG20 as a proxy footage (MTS files).

When the editing before it is done, I right click on the images in the project area and select replace footage. Now, I select the file AE containing input parameters.

This is where the problem occurs. normally a get a dialog box asking what computer I want to use, but now I just get the "the importer reported a generic error" error message.

What I can do, it was working before and now all of a sudden it won't work at all, even in a new file of the first importation of an AE with just a mock-up.

    Any ideas?

In this case, you may need to export the files on EI, rather than use the DL.

  • First Pro CS5.5 error, no file format supported

    Hello

I have been using first Pro CS5.5 for over a month now and have created a certain projects, all of a sudden I can't reopen an exciting project, I get the error messafe "file format not supported", then when it opens the entire timeline is there with t e files except the photo/video is not visible, the only thing that happened is I tried to put the folder the file is located in in my drive hard but has not have enough space, so left it on my desk, but in a different folder, then when I went to open it again once I put the file back on the desktop so it would take the same path that I crested when he

I hope that makes sense, I'm not good with all the technical stuff, is there a quick fix for this? I hope so

    Thank you

    Kathryn

I tried to do what you say, but he always says the media are online, I can create new projects and use the same files that I used in my initial project, but it won't allow me to open the project original, very frustrating, any other ideas?

    Kathryn,

Can clarify you this? Did you mean that import the project into a new still shows as offlinemedia? In addition, you say that the same media files work fine in another project, but have not all original projects? Just try to understand clearly the rub...

Try this: in one of your projects, showing that the media are offline, make a right click on one of the elements of offline in the project Panel, and select "Link media." In the dialog box that appears, locate the file that is requested; the checkbox "display only exact matches name" could help crop choices of file. Double-click this clip; Premiere Pro must create a link to the file at this point. If it works, you can select all of your offline items (or the tray containing them) and use the same process. If all of your clips are in the same relative location, you must have locate the first file, and then the rest will connect automatically.

Looks like when you the media/project moved and reopened, you cooked in the offline state. This should help you (theoretically) back to speed.

  • First Pro CC Setup error

Every time I try to install and launch first Pro CC from the creative cloud app Manager, I get the message error as "WMVCORE. DLL is missing from the system"and that I should install Windows Media Player on the system. The most curious is that Premiere Pro CS4 works perfectly well on the system. I am runing on Windows 8, 64-bit CC Aps. There is no problem with other tools (e.g. Photoshop CC).

I've already tried this help topic, but without solving the problem:

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Photoshop/KB/CC-applications-crash-immediately-launch.html

You see the attached screenshot. For all speakers theater, everything he says is that "" WMVCORE. "." DLL' is missing on the system, then first breaks down.

    Premiere Crash-Dialog.jpg

Well, I had a few new previews and found the solution for the problem.

It is true that my version of Windows 8 does not include Windows Media Player. It is because that's that I'm running 'Windows 8 edition Pro N' (64-bit), which is a version for the European market and does not include Windows Media Player (see here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/n-editions) and Stackoverflow reference [1].

That is also the reason why several other attempts (http://www.askvg.com/how-to-enable-or-install-windows-media-center-in-windows-8/) to install the Windows Media Center is not for me.

The solution for my problem (and other users of Windows 8 Pro N) is to install the next update (KB2703761):

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=30685

Please be so kind and spread the word at Adobe. Because as far as I know this problem should affect a large number of users 'Windows 8 Pro N ".

  • The first Pro CS6 download error

I went through the process of downloading all CS6 products on the cloud, but ran into a problem with the family of Premier Pro.  The application Manager displays a yellow with an exclamation point triangle in it next to the first Pro icon when the installation process has been complete and told me that some of the products have not been installed correctly.  I checked my list of installed programs and saw that Media Encoder was there, but still and Premier Pro all had two missing.  I went through the FAQ and found a thread that indicates I should return to my online order history and download the product again.  When I did that what happened was that of the application manager pops up again.  I clicked on the Premier Pro and found that the download link was more direct.  An entry next to the family icon Pro Prime Minister indicated that I had already downloaded and installed.  I am not able to retry the download and install procedure, but I'm also not able to find the products on my PC.  All other products downloads and installations seemed to go well, I'm locked only to enter again and Premier Pro.  What remedies are available for this situation?  Thank you.

Try to run the cs cleanup tool, then re - download and install.

  • Image sequence of import of JPEGs on first Pro CC 2014 out of sync!

Since I left CS6 to CC, 2014, sequences of images in the form of jpeg files not properly are more important in synchronized first.  I use Blender 3d rendered scenes of export in JPEG format, then convert them to h.264 mpeg4 video clips in first.  What is happening is that images download tab of project to create in the mess, even if they are correctly classified in my hard drive.  Improper naming conventions are probably apart since their file extensions are _000 types, and I have never had a problem importing sequences in CS6 anyway.  Still life image default is set to 1 in the General preferences.  No one knows what offer?  Thank you.

I would like to import as a sequence of images.

Hit import, select the first image and check the sequence of images below, click OK.

With the images already imported, click the sort button, and then select name.

Sort (up and down arrow) button next to zoom.

  • Canon XC10 MXF file import failure first Pro CS6

Does anyone know why can't import video MXF files from the Canon XC10 to first Pro CS6?  I searched for a process / workflow that does not include having to use an mxf converter.  I looked at a number of different suggestions on the web.  I read the following article http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/premiere/cs6/pdfs/adobe-premiere-pro-cs 6-canon-workflow - guide.pdf which indicates it should not be a problem with the import mxf to the first pro cs6.  I also used the Canon XF Utility - once again unfortunately, I still got the message "the importer reported a generic error.  Other Adobe applications, faced with this format include Prelude and Media Encoder.

I'm on Windows 10.  I hope that someone in the community will have technical knowledge to help.  Or maybe even staff Adobe might be able to offer suggestions.  Thank you.

If you download the Canon XF Utility software,

You load the map and export in MXF format (that's all) on the hard disk.

    Import in first. That's all.

  • Best workflow - iPhone 6s + film Pro + first Pro CC

I need advice: a few images on a 6 s iPhone using the filmic Pro application. Need to import it into Adobe first Pro CC; looking for the best "sequence presets." And is it still important?

In addition, advice for an entire workflow (including export settings). I know it's findable probably somewhere in the forum, but I'm new here and enjoy the links/departure. Thank you guys!

    I found the solution!

We came back from shooting with the same problem. Fine once in quicktime format, but will not import into first or transcode in the SOUL.

The problem seems to be that film Pro natively by default to record audio aiff 48 kHz. This play very well with the mp4 stream produced by the app (don't know why!). However, if you assign the audio in pro recording pcm 44.1 khz stream lats (in the audio settings), everything is solved and the audio comes in fine.

Obviously, this is no good if you have already shot the material. We had to export the audio separately and re-synchronization in first pro to the image to solve for this one. But the following should now work correctly.

    Good luck!

  • First Pro CC incorporates no 708 captions in QT

Despite the fact that all online videos to believe that export of embedded subtitles is child's play, it is not. After much experimentation, I discovered there is no way to export 708 captions embedded in a QT file. I worked with captions closed for a long time, and I am very familiar with the various traps of captioning. Why Adobe would have chosen to incorporate 608 captions only in a HD file is beyond me. To be excluded by the broadcasters captions should be VAN 708 captions with the 608 alternative. Every time I get a file out of MACCaption is what is included. I tried to import these files in first pro CC and he does not see the legends.

I tried to create the file as a .mcc, and it seems to be OK. There is unfortunately no way to integrate this into a QT file.

    Kevin

You are right that 708 captions cannot be incorporated into QuickTime files; they can be incorporated into the outputs of MXF OP1a or written of sidecars. It is covered, albeit indirectly, at the bottom of this help page.

Support for closed captioning is a work-in-progress. CC7.0 has provided support for CEA-608 and Teletext; the CEA-708 support was added in 7.1 or 7.0.1. Of course, 'support' is a loose concept, and it remains to be done on specific aspects of exactly, which can be imported, how legends can be exported and workflows to edit the captions in a project.
