Import playlist iTunes...

Hi all

I just tried to import playlist iTunes from another mac and got this message;

Some of the songs in the file "Music.txt" were not imported because they could not be found.

I have two macs, and I keep the music on each on a separate hard drive.  The content each hard drive is almost identical, apart from a few additional albums I added a hard drive and will add finally the second hard drive.

All ideas and solutions grateful received.

A playlist is only a text list of titles and their properties, not the real media.  Is it playlist import?  On my version of iTunes playlist tells iTunes to get the media to the location of the library on the original drive, so it won't work unless the player is connected.

You should never directly change anything inside the iTunes folder structure.

There is no way to change the default media type of video import. You can change this flag after importation in the read window information, Options tab.

The superdrive in my iMac (21.5, late 2009, running OSX 10.10.3) refuses to mount new audio CD. He sees the cds, which have already been imported into iTunes (12.3.2.35) and same DVD. But new (IE back to the computer) cds are ejected, which means that I can't add anything to my music library on a cd. Any help would be appreciated!

First try to reset the SMC & LANDAU 2 - 3 times back to back by LANDAU and Intel iMac SMC resets with all devices disconnected.

If that does not resolve the problem, go to your local office supply store and get a CD/DVD cleaning kit and use it. If this does not work, then the SuperDrive is end of life and should be replaced. Many users with iMacs older everything just get external DVD readers, if you need to do this, I recommend you contact OWC (www.macsales.com) and they can direct you to one that fits your needs.

  • "Adding to playlist itunes purchase will download a copy on your computer.

What it means?  (Long story) I've recently updated to El Capitan 10.11.3 and also iTunes 12.3.2.35.  I have no game because it caused many problems for me.  I was happy to see 'Music' as a playlist that shows everything in iTunes is in this version.  The previous version I was using on OS 10.6.8 had that.

Looking at the list of reading music I noticed that I had a duplicate song.  We were already in one of my playlists where it belongs, and I could click "Show in Finder."  The other version was not in a playlist and I can't "show in Finder".  The quality of this version is better that the copy that I have on my computer so I decided to put the other in the trash and move the best copy in the playlist where the other was.  But when I tried I get this.

"Adding to playlist itunes purchase will download a copy on your computer.

I guess it is a purchased version, cloud or something and isn't really on my computer, Yes?  As far as I know, I don't have Apple cloud past.  I love my music real files on my computer and to be able to move them and organize them however and when I want to.  I don't want some music files mysterious that I may, or may not be able to listen to a certain point depending on what service I use, or a file that I need to download a copy whenever I want to put it in a playlist.  In addition, I don't want or need two copies of any song even if it's one I want, especially if I can't remove it if I want.

What happens here?  I've stuck with iTunes all these years, but it seems that whenever I update something is even worse... or am I just stupid for not getting it?

Okay what is happening with iTunes?  All my old playlists are gone and then this message "Add to itunes playlist purchase will download a copy on your computer" I just want to have playlists for my different moods, activities, etc..

I burned a CD of music seems to have disappeared.

    Import playlist to Excel Powertoy
Import playlist to Excel PowerToy offers an easy way to import lists of audio and video (with the .asx extension) of the Microsoft Windows Media Player in a worksheet in Microsoft Excel 2002 or later.

After the playlist is imported into Excel, you can sort and retrieve information for each item in the list, including name, artist, genre, and bit rate of each file, sort and AutoFilter features in Excel. You can also export the file in HTML format to quickly create a Web page that contains a catalogue of all the audio and video in the playlist. In addition, you can draw and design of statistical information about the items in the playlist and use the information in other ODBC compatible programs (for example, Microsoft Access).

The use of this tool is a two-step process. First, you must prepare the reading list by exporting it from Windows Media Player. Then, you use Playlist import to Excel PowerToy to import the playlist into Excel.

To export a playlist in Windows Media Player:
In Windows Media Player, click Media Library, and then expand My Playlists to view playlists that you created.
Click the playlist you want to export.
On the file menu, click Export Playlist to file.
Select the folder where you want to save the file.
In file name, enter a name for the file and then click Save.

    Import playlist into Excel:
Click Start, point to programs, point to Windows Media Bonus Pack for Windows XP, and then click selection of import to Excel.
Depending on your security settings, you can get a security warning dialog box. If Yes, click on enable the Macros to continue.
Follow the instructions in the Windows Media Playlist import tool dialog box. (If you have already exported the playlist, you can skip step 3 in the import tool dialog box).

This forum does not the letter nor did pay extra for punctuation.  Please try to write in complete sentences.

Simply connect your external drive to your computer will redirect the import of files from the CD.  You don't always have enough space on your internal drive - at least that's what seems to be the case of the incomplete information provided.

Full error messages are needed to accurately diagnose problems.

There are a number of things you can do to- temporarily - free up disk space.  The only real solution, however, is to get a bigger internal hard drive.   You can move the data to your external drive, but if it's the data that you use frequently, slower access times may annoy you.  Therefore, I do not recommend that you move your My Documents folder in its entirety on the external drive, but you can certainly do this by following the related instructions. You can also move your iTunes folder there (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1364)

    • You can run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr > OK)
    • You can reduce the size allocated for the restoration of the system to about 1 GB (right click on desktop > properties > system restore > settings)
    • You can disable hibernation (if you don't use it) (right click on an empty spot on the desktop > properties > screen saver > power > Hibernate)
    • You can disable the indexing of the drive, which will also speed up your computer a bit (http://lifehacker.com/031440/turn-off-indexing-and-speed-up-windows-xp)
    • You can reduce the size of your Internet browser cache (depending on the browser that you use)
    • You can remove most of the $NTUninstallKBxxxxxx files $ following the directions here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Hotfix_backup.htm (read the warnings in the gray box first)

But none of these answers you will earn really large amounts of space for very long.  The term solution time is a bigger hard drive.

In the meantime, download and run JDiskReport, that will show you graphically what files take up more space and seem to so indicate what files you must move it to your external drive.  If you want to move an application, you will need to uninstall and then reinstall it specifying your external drive as the installation location.  You can not simply move the files.

  • music past PC from XP to Vista PC and more will no longer play in the drive media or import into itunes

I transferred a large amount of music from my work (XP Dell) computer to my home laptop (Dell Vista) via an external hard drive.  About 3/4 of the music now will not import into itunes (nothing happens at all when I try to add or drag the files on), and Windows media player will not play them.  He complains about the codex or file extension.  I is not the exact message at the moment but you can get it later.
The songs will play in another free player I downloaded (I don't remember who it was but can find out (I'm not on my laptop now)).
I've had this problem for a year or two and thinking of upgrading to Windows 7 just if I can access my music again, but don't know if it will even work and prefer not spend this money if there is a solution under Vista.
The files are a mixture of types, some were given to me and others that I transferred via CD myself.  I have all the original CD or files. Each of them has played without problems on the XP PC.  When I got this problem, I sent one of the files from my Vista computer on an XP machine and it played smoothly on this point, so it seems not that files have been corrupted.  It seems to be a Vista problem that also affects good windows media player and itunes.  I want to be able to get the songs in itunes, so I can listen to on my Ipod.
    Any help gratefully received.

  • Windows Media Player only recognizes the song titles when they are imported from itunes, imported in the form of wav files.

Hi, I imported/ripped music in form of wav files using WMP first and imported into itunes so that I can sync w / my ipod but itunes recognized only the first words of the music info (generally the number of song, title, ect). ITunes would allow me to change the info. So I decided to import my 7 000 more songs again using itunes, in the hope of finding the songs via watched folders to WMP. Well, that was the case, but he only identified the song number and the title. Now, I have a long list of other/unknown.

I can get information in WMP via "Find album information", one song at a time, but that would take forever. I imported 318 songs to date. I use wav files to maintain the quality of the sound.  Can someone tell me an easier way?

  • Why Windows Media Player won't allow me to save the playlist that I imported from iTunes?

I have iTunes (10.5) and Windows Media Player (not sure which version). I have all my music in iTunes and WMP and I want to copy my playlists from iTunes to WMP. I exported the playlist from iTunes and saved as a M3U file. I open the M3U file in WMP and opening perfectly on the right side of WMP, but it wont let me SAVE the playlist in WMP. I tried to drag the iTunes playlist WMP playlist files and it wouldn't let me. Any suggestions?

    Hello

    (1) have there been recent changes to the computer before the show?

    (2) what exactly happens when you try to save the playlist?

    (3) you get any error message?

    (4) is the issue limited to the M3U file?

I suggest to follow the steps provided and check if it helps.

Method 1: Try to run the troubleshooting Windows Media Player settings Troubleshooter:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Media-Player-settings-Troubleshooter

Method 2: If the problem persists then clear database of Windows Media Player. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.

    b. for Windows 7: click Start, run, %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and then click on OK.

    c. Select all files in the folder, and then click delete on the file menu.

Note: You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    d. restart Windows Media Player.

Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

  • Find which MP3 are not imported into iTunes.

I try a cleaning for long MP3 and iTunes.

Right now, a search for mp3 on my HD lists 4 326 mp3s.

And a search for mp3 in my iTunes music library lists 3,470 mp3s.

However, the total mp3 in iTunes is only 2 741.

Is it possible to determine what elements are not in iTunes so that I can selectively decide which, if any, that I really want to import?  I prefer not just to import all the mp3s on my HD and have to go back and clean up duplicates and delete items, that I don't want in iTunes.  I also want to keep my playlists, number of plays, etc., so I don't want to start at the beginning with a new iTunes install.

And a question bonus, if anyone knows.  Is there a good way to clean the text that is displayed like that?  -> Âå›êà Ñå›äfl÷êà <-these songs had info name, artist and Album in the Cyrillic alphabet, but somehow got irreparably maimed.  The ideal solution would be a site or a program that recognizes the audio imprint of the song and can automatically update the info mutilated.

    iTunes 12.3, OS 10.11.4

    Thank you!

There is a script on the web site of Dougscripts called something like file not added that look inside your iTunes media folder and make a text file of elements not in the iTunes folder.  It seems to me that your desire to be selective in this respect will involve a lot of manual sorting, either in a window of Finder, or using various tools in an iTunes playlist.

Your file with the Cyrillic alphabet may have also integrated in the tags in the file information. Add to iTunes should show that, or maybe get Info or Quicklook (I never use those and am on Mavericks with this computer).

  • BlackBerry software unable to synchronize playlists itunes via BBLink

    Hi all

I hope I'm not the only one having this problem but I'm able to see my itunes music library in my bblink.   Before I have in the past been able to synchronize itunes playlists to my Z10 but I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and had no chance to get communication between itunes and bblink.

When I have everything first open bblink and go to music, it shows empty according to the screenshot below.

     http://postimg.org/image/ftjn0skmz/

If I go home to bblink and change the "select your music source" and it points to WMP, I see the music appear.

    http://postimg.org/image/4mkhr8jtf/

If I change back to pointing to itunes I get an error "Itunes is not available.

    http://postimg.org/image/3vsi85ih3/

I tried the solution provided in the error, but not luck.

I also tried to uninstall and reinstall BBLink and itunes.

I also tried to remove my itunes library and re-import my music in itunes.

The only solution that I have not tried is reinstalling windows.  I would avoid rather than as I needed to reinstall windows 8 and then perform the upgrade to 10.  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated

My version of Itunes is 12.2.2.25 / My BBLink is 1.2.4.39 / my version of the software on my Z10 is 10.3.2.2168

I think that I just fixed it. New versions of Itunes apparently do not have an xml file in the itunes on your PC my default folder. You are able to activate a feature in the advanced Itunes sharing this folder, after that, all my songs appeared in link BlackBerry! Happy days
