Importation of raw as DNG problem photos

In raw as DNG files import, the photos are forthcoming as long as b & amp; w next to photos JPEG of same color image.  Why?  I can change the b & amp; w to color in the mode to develop.  How can I get the raw images to DNG import in color.  Thank you

Maybe you have changed inadvertently by default develop settings (including B & W for a specific camera) or ISO setting. To check, take one of the B & W DNG in the develop module, hold the SHIFT key and the down-right Reset button will change on "Reset (Adobe). Click it, and revert to the color image? If so, Yes, that's the problem... go to Menu develop > set the defaults and click on "Restore Adobe default settings" in the dialog box.

I am new to Lightroom and can't import my raw CR2 photo files. In the section "import", I select my SD card that contains the raw image files. All the map .jpeg files appear as thumbnails, but the CR2 files show "extract not available for this file. I select one of the thumbnails CR2 anyway, select a folder on my external hard drive and click on "import". A window pops up that says: "this file is not recognized by the format of raw support in Lightroom." I use Lightroom 4.4 and works with a Windows Vista operating system (on a laptop old, junky). My camera is a Canon 70 d and am shooting in RAW + JPEG. I also downloaded the Adobe software. I would recommend download DNG Converter 8.2 which is compatible with Vista.

  • Copyping raw as DNG files files - import, copy to the choice of location, etc.?

    First of all:

When I copy as DNG files raw files, the pane on the right shows where will be placed the copies.  (I use Windows 7) I did not have many choices and cannot set a default value.  The default choice is 'My images' on the C: drive.  I have a Solid State Drive, SSD and NOT to store my photos on this small 256 GB drive.  I store my images on an internal hard drive.

All I want to do is on the default 'Copy To' location where I store my images.  I want to copy them into the original folder, in a separate folder (for example, LR DNG).  Instead, I have to open the SSD, find files and copy them into my favourite place.  It's very irritating.

    Second:

Worse, it seems that the copy function puts the images copied in several files.  I had 11 images from raw files that have been put in three separate files.  It seems pretty stupid to me.  It makes me work more open files and copy them to the root folder.  It's very irritating.   What happens here?

If these two issues can be resolved? Thank you, in advance.

I use the DNG converter stand-alone that works faster. You can process files in a single folder has your final destination and then make the DNG in Lightroom using:

  • I can't try to import my 700 d canon raw files to items 9. He told me that he does not recognize the files. I downloaded the latest updates for camera raw and dng convertor but still no luck.

How to import the raw files to items 9.

    Hello

The 700 D requires Camera Raw 7.4 or later but is not compatible with Photoshop Elements 9.

If you don't want to upgrade the PSE, you use the DNG Converter. You must copy your CR2 files in a folder and then use the DNG Converter to convert the files (CR2 to DNG), preferably in a new folder. Then you can import the DNG files in your PES 9.

The DNG Converter is a standalone application and does not include EPS.

  • RAW image workflow problem

I met a strange behavior on the Minolta RAW image processing. (This strange behavior has occurred for the first time in the last series of images. I have used this workflow at least a year.)

Minolta RAW is not recognized by iPhoto so I used Adobe DNG Converter to produce DNG files.

The original RAW files typically were 12.1 MB on the disk. DNG files vary in size, but were usually between 7 and 9 MB, but strangely, the dimensions are given in 256 x 192.

When they are imported into iPhoto, the definition is, as you'd expect, is not good.

If I edit a DNG file or iPhoto using Photoshop, then save them on the desktop as the jpeg, the result is a file which is usually 5 MB in size, but the dimensions are 3264 x 2448. This file can be re-imported into iPhoto and the results are perfect.

Of this, I infer that the camera records the data correctly and that it is stored in the file, but what went wrong during the conversion from RAW to DNG?

    Thanks for any help.

    Jim,

I can't reproduce the problem, because I work with Windows. This seems wrong; I hate it, when the software is being too intelligent and prevents from functioning correctly. Adobe also makes this rubbish, for example keeping the ACR adjustment settings in a database.

I'm sorry but I can't contribute to the solution. I thought that the problem is in the content of the DNG file, but it seems to be in the records of the IPhoto. I did a search and found that when you import photos into IPhoto, it opens each image and creates several smaller of the versions. However, I am sure you know much more about what I am doing (as it is as I know about this).

Anyway, have a good year and a best photo management system.

  • Photoshop Cs3 using windows XP tries to import the raw files from Canon 550 d.

I get this message when you try to import the raw files from my canon 550 d. I use Photoshop CS3 on windows XP. I tried to download updates, but this does not seem to solve the problem? Any advice on how to fix it? downloaded 4.6 as advised, but it did not work!

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Claire

Definitely. You need the version 5.7, which is only for CS4.

You need a DNG Converter, but since you're running XP, it will be the 8.3 DNG Converter

  • Impossible to import Canon RAW files in LR4.2

I tried the import and convert to DNG RAW files of a CF card with images taken on a brand new Canon D5 Mark III. None of the images can be imported and try to install the latest version of the plugin Adobe Camera RAW also failed. The error message reads "the following files were imported not because they cannot be read. (3)"can anyone help?

Update: I've now tried to import files from an SD card to format newly and am having the same problem.

The simplest interpretation of error messages, this is the place you are trying to put the files is not writable.  Do you have the permission to the location?  You use a function of OS level to copy the files here and do more?

  • Impossible to import the raw files from canon g16 in lightroom 4

I have a new Canon g16 and can't import raw files into my lightroom 4.  I downloaded the recommended dng converter (canon g16 was one of the devices listed on the support list) and I always get the error message on lightroom being impossible to import and raw riles the g16.  When I checked for software updates, it says there is none - that my lightroom software 4 was "aware".  Does this mean I have to buy lightroom 5 or 6?

    Hi kerryem,

Canon 16 G has been initially supported by Lightroom 5.2.See devices supported by Adobe Camera Raw

Please switch to Lightroom latest version 6 to be able to process raw images from new cameras.

Alternatively, you can use the DNG Converter to convwert G16 raw to DNG files and then import them into Lightroom 4. see help Photoshop | Digital negative converter Adobe 9.x

  • 5 Lightroom can't read and import the raw file

I can't import my RAW files from my Nikon D750. When I try to import my SD card, I am able to see the preview, but when I try to import, I get a window that reads "the following files were imported not because they could not be read. I haven't changed anything on my camera on the LR5 parameters settings and this happened just today. I am able to transfer the files on my desk at the moment, but I can't yet import from there. I also tried reformatting the card and even tried another card so I don't think that the problem is the card or the device itself. I also do not seem to see updates that I need. Does anyone have any suggestions?

As noted of Claes, it is almost certainly a problem with your destination set wrong in the import Panel. This happens quite easily. You get the error message is almost always due to the destination without folder do not write access. Really check your destination. This should NOT be the root of your startup for example disk level and for some reason any sometimes default Lightroom at this place and then refuses to import because the OS refuses to let you write here.

After almost a year of working great, my Lightroom doesn't is more afford to import the RAW of Nikon 7200 images. I upgraded to Lightroom 6.3 and which did not help. What can I do?

Seems to be a problem with the destination location.

Try changing the location of destination at the top on the right under 'FOR' pictures folder or any other location on your local hard drive.

    Greetings

I work on a Mac (OS X) with 5 Lightroom. I introduced some pictures (not iPhoto) of the operating system application.

I cannot import the files CR2 (raw files) that are stored in "/users/ < USER name >/Photos/pictures Library.photoslibrary.

in Lightroom, I only see the possibility to import files 'file-> Plugin Extras-> import to iPhoto Library' (not for Photos) and this option any files in Lightroom.

Please can you help me import photo library files into Lightroom?

    Salvation came,

There is no direct option to import directly from the Photos App as the Photos App does not allow for any Publisher third interact directly with him.

You can either import from the masters of the photo library folder or you will first need to export images from the Photos App and then import in Lightroom

    Alexandra,

The downloader of elements module does not provide an option to filter the files imported by their type (jpg or raw). You can filter only the videos photos. I'm agree it would be an asset!

    What you can do instead:

-use your operating system (Explorer / finder) to import files to your computer via your card reader: you can order your files to import extension (jpg, CR2, NEF,...) and select the raw files. Then use the function "Import" elements to import from "Files and folders" (which "registers" files in the catalog).

    - Or you can use the download of standard element and remove JPEG files later. Not very elegant, but it works.

    - Or you can use the function "Import" elements and choose in "Files and folders" instead of card reader or the camera, then go to the card reader. The card reader is considered to be a separate drive. You can select only the raws in the import dialog box by setting the order of the files in the file (CR2, NEF...) instead of file name extension. You select the first item, then shift click the last one. Only the raws are selected. Now, pay attention to have the box 'Copy' the o files. Otherwise, the elements would consider your photos on a removable drive. The photo files will be copied to your computer in a special subfolder 'photo of removable drives.

  • Lightroom 5 import of raw files

I can't import the raw files from my Nikon D7100.  There is a plug-in to allow this, but I can't find where it is installed.  Can anyone help?  My version of the LR5 is up-to-date.  I use a Mac OS 10.8 and installed LR5 yesterday from a download from Adobe.  I can imprt raw files from my Nikon D80, but not the D7100.  The files are all on my hard drive.

No plug-in is required to import a D7100 Nikon RAW files into LR5.

However, if you used some versions of Nikon software to move the camera pictures to a hard drive, this can be interfering then causing LR to not recognize the photos. The solution is to import directly from plug camera into Lightroom (if the photos are still on the card of the camera), or if not try http://owl.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/fix_corrupted_nef.html

  • JPEG import between computers using LR3 problems

Using LR3 on my laptop works just dandy. everything looks / works great. But when you use LR3 on my desktop PC, imported JPEGs are dark waaaay too and highly more saturated. Photoshop runs fine on both machines, and the same JPEG files have been used on these machines as well. I googled this problem and see a lot of discussion on this relating to the FIRST imports in LR and export JPEG... but not import. In addition, this problem seems curious since the only difference is the physical machine (PC) used, and LR3 only has this problem of color, which leads me to believe that this could be linked to a pilot/profile/Graphics Manager, etc. Is it a sort of preference for a color profile or other color management I can check in LR compared to Photoshop, or between two machines, or anyone else has this problem, and if so, were you able to solve?

    Thanks in advance,

    -Nathan

P.S. Yes, I know I should be working in RAW, but...

Thank you all for all the help. I found a solution to this problem in that based on the comments of Geoff and Hal... I hope that this seems to be a reasonable solution. I noticed that the color profile associated with my desktop PC uses a default profile called SM205BW (which is the default value of Samsung that came with the monitor in my office). I use Windows XP, so I added the AdobeRGB1998 profile and set it as default profile (in display properties-> settings-> Advanced-> color management). Everything seems 'normal', with the JPEGs showing "correctly" in PhotoShop with LR. There is a sRGBColorSpaceProfile.icm that I can choose (and tons of others also).

I say 'normal' and 'correctly' loosely, because I know that I need to calibrate my monitor to be more exact. I ordered a Spyder Express to calibrate my monitor, who should be here sometime next week. I hope, however, that the use of the profile AdobeRGB1998 is a safe thing to do.

Any other comments on that would be great. I do well that appreciate a lot any help.

    -Nathan
