Importing photos is not possible

Hello

importing photos into Lightroom is no longer possible. I plugged a NikonD80, an Iphone6: won´t import window - view all Photos. Of course, there are a lot of photos not imported on memory cards!

Same problem with the internal or external drives hard. Before that, I imported thousands of photos with LR6 without any problem.

I would have tried to UN - and reinstalling LR6, but I Don t know how to get the Adobe uninstaller program.

I have the LR 6.6.1 standalone Version and Mac OS X 10.9.5.

Would appreciate your help. Thank you very much in advance!

Check the Destination area to ensure that the selected folder has write permissions.

Copy the images from the phone to the computer's hard drive, and then import.

Take the card from the camera and put in a card reader, and then try to import. If that doesn't work then copy images off the card to a folder on your hard disk and then import from there.

  • Import Photos do not sync up to Photostream

I sync my pictures taken on all my iDevices via Photostream Photos app and that works for me. I have a question where it seems I can only sync one way.

All images imported into the Photos on my iMac, captured by the camera in jpeg format, will not download to my devices (something that apple says is a feature of Photostream). I need to create an album and synchronize it like that. I'd rather be downloaded automatically and appear on my iDevices with the rest of my photos rather than sitting in a separate folder.

  • Importing photos does not work

I use lightroom 4 and 5 on a Mac. Although the photos to import preview is displayed I only get the message that importation could continue (1) and the ability to save data as one: txt file. It was with Lightroom 4. It started first with being unabel to import directly from the camera, then I swithched to insert the SD card directly into the laptop. It worked only after the first download to the desktop. Later, it did not work either. I thought that the program had become vice. Preview has always worked and export is very good. I have therefore updated Lightroom 5 in hopes that would solve the problem. However, everything remains the same. Import does not always work with pictures of any format. for example, jpg or RAW.

Some photos are not selected when I try to import. I used Lightroom 5 since it launched and do not have this problem until a month ago (select: "do not import possible double images" is turned OFF!). How can I import the correctly without making stuff and that's why spoil my archive carefully planned? My archive is too packed and I have double numbers ore something? What I need Lightroom 6?

Thank you very much for your help!

"Photos are indeed grey, but the imported photos are new assignments, so this:" ","then it means that you have previously imported photos in Lightroom, and so it is not necessary to import them again ', is not the case.

While you are probably right, if the photos were just captured, the problem is that Lightroom think that these are the same pictures that were previously imported, and so until you can determine why Lightroom think that you won't progress.

You need search for any of these photos in your Lightroom Catalog. Follow these 4 steps in order

    1. In the catalog Panel on the left side of the library Module, click all photographs
    2. Develop all batteries (picture-> stacking-> develop all batteries)
    3. Disable all filters (once or twice Ctrl-L)
    4. Search for one of these photos by file name
  • Camera with GPS and Photos shows not all contact information when importing photos in pictures

I have a Nikon AW130 with active GPS. While previously using iPhotos he always imported the exact location when you import photos. I'm using pictures and nothing appears under location. We are on a cruise on our sailboat and spend 10 months foreign traveling or diving in remote locations, geotagging is important. And I'm not geotag pictures of thousands that we take in a season of navigation manually. The Internet is also either not always available or slow and costly iCloud is not always possible. So what is the solution? Thank you.

Photos will show the locations only, if the computer is connected to the internet after importing the photos. He needs a database of Apple connection to retrieve the names of places.  Pictures don't show latitude and longitude but a place name. If you have an internet connection, you should see a name of places and a small map in the Info Panel for photos.

We are on a cruise on our sailboat and spend 10 months foreign traveling or diving in remote locations, geotagging is important

Names of places in photos are not a great help in navigation.  Most of my photos of sailing is simply display "North Atlantic" or "Sea of Caribbean", such as the location, but the locations of the pins on the map are correct.  And if you export photos Tags the GPS will be integrated. Just, make sure that you enable empbed location information in the Photos of preferences > General.

You can check if the GPS has been applied by the camera, if you export Photos photos, open in preview. The Info Panel in preview (Tools > Inspector) will tell you the GPS coordinates.

  • OJ6480 am not able to import photos from the memory card inserted in the printer to laptop?

I can't import pictures from my memory inserted in my OJ6480 card.  I am connected with USB and nothing appears automatically after you insert card.  Also, I used the menu photo option and he doesn't want me to import.  Help, please!  Thank you.

    Hi cafahr,

I understand you are trying to print photos from a memory card.

I find the user manual for Officejet 6480 and found the following.

After taking pictures with your digital camera, you can print them immediately or save them on your computer. To save the pictures on your computer, remove the memory card from your digital camera and insert it into the slot for card memory on the device.

    To save your photos

NOTE: Use these instructions only when you use a network connection. If you are using a USB connection, then a dialog box appears automatically on the computer when you insert the memory card into the device.

    1. Insert a memory card into the suitable location on the device.
    2. press on the picture Menu.
    3. press the arrow keys and select Photo transfer and then press OK.
    4. press the arrow keys, and then select Yes.
    5. press the arrow keys and select transfer to computer, and then select the name
    of your computer.
6 follow the prompts on the screen on your computer to save the photos to your
    computer.

From what you described, the question is simple, the dialog box does not appear on the computer. What happens if you start it > computer or workstation? Do you see something here that looks like it could be the card into the printer?

Try to leave the printer and unplug the power cable (with the inserted memory card), leave the printer unplugged for about a minute and then plug it back. I want to see if this will push the communication to the computer.

Have you used this memory card in the printer before successfully? I ask because the problem may be the memory card or the memory card reader in the printer. Take a look at this link, memory card troubleshooting.

I hope it's useful. If the problem persists, please return with answers to the questions I asked, I'll gladly do some additional research and return with possible solutions. Please also let me know if you use a Mac or a WIndows OS.

  • Import of duplicates with "Add" in Lightroom 2015.2.1 is not possible.

Import of duplicates with "Add" in Lightroom 2015.2.1 is not possible.

I have try to add photos on my hard drive for the catalogue of lightromm since the new version of Lightroom. But Lightroom says that are duplicates of already existing photo and does not matter to them. Yes they are duplicates that are in other folders, but in older versions, it was possible to slect or deselect 'import duplicates. " I can't find this option more. Where is he? Maybe you can help me. Thank you very much.

    Best regards

    Andreas

    Hi [email protected],

The option to "Import suspected duplicates" has been deleted since the last release of Lightroom CC 2015.2.1.

However for re-import images in Lightroom, you need to rename the images in Lightroom and then import them.

    Kind regards

  • Photos will not import iPhone photos

I'm trying to import pictures from my iPhone 5 s on my MacBook. However Photos will only recognize new pictures although I have hundreds that have not been imported on Photos or iPhoto. Image capture will not also recognize other photos on my phone. I have no idea how use AirDrop and am completely at a loss on how to get my pictures on my computer and my phone.

It's a big question, Alicia. I lost of valuable photos, myself and always want to make sure that they are safe now.

I'm sure you've seen these instructions before, but it also contains information on how you can share photos on all your devices using iCloud photo library. Import photos and videos from your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch

If these are pictures that you already imported, with your iPhone connected to your MacBook Pro and the Photos app opened, under the "Import all new Photos" button on the top right, you should see a toggle button for "show all". When you click on that, it will display all photos that are found on your iPhone. You just choose the ones you want to import and then click the "Import # Selected" button where the ' # ' shows how many photos you have chosen to import.

AirDrop is also a great way to transfer photos from your iPhone to your Mac. How to use AirDrop with your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch

Let me know if this is helped. Thank you!

  • After importing Photos, some iPhoto does not

I went of Photos and most of my fact iPhoto library the passage.  However, there are months of imports which do not have.  Apparently at random.

Looking at my HD on OmniDiskSweeper space, my iPhoto library clocks to 173 GB and my Photos library is 163.5 GB.

I'm looking to switch to a new Macbook Pro with the solid state drive and in order to not have stuff in double clogging the SSD with GB of data, I would only transfer the files once, preferably in the photo library.

So the question is, how can ensure me that all photos in both libraries are placed in a

best way to start both and check the photo count

Why exactly do you think that a few months has not transferred?

The total size of library is not a way to check - there is no hope that they will be the same

    Still no answer...

    Have you tried the following:

    • Launch Photos manually once you connect your iPhone to the Mac.
    • Enter the ⌥⌘S tomato (command-option-S) key combination the sidebar visible.
    • Click on the camera in the sidebar when it appears.

Your iPhone shows in iTunes or in the Image Capture?

If iPhone doesn't appear at all, make sure it is properly loaded and unlocked, disconnecting, take a new photo, then reconnect it.

    • Start iTunes and confirm that you agree with the mac, the prompt on the iPhone.
    • Try a different USB port.
    • Try to force reboot the iPhone.
