Importing video from movie maker windows media center?

I'm currently editing advertising messages recorded on my media center shows.  Is the best way to import it into movie maker?  When I try, I go to public folders and the recorded shows are not displayed.  They appear when not in movie maker, but not when you try to import them into Movie maker.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

I am operating Windows Vista.  When I right click on the file as suggested the possibility of converting the file is not available.

I use Windows maker movie 6.0

  • Movies in Windows Media Center unsort the YEAR after about 1 minute of navigation

I hope someone can help with this. I have about 300 movies in my media center. When I open Windows Media Center to 'Movies' and 'Year' they are all sorted. When I start to scroll titles, shortly after, they begin to UNSORTING. It makes me crazy! Any ideas?

    Hello

I understand that movies in Windows Media Center are not sorting. I understand the inconvenience.

I suggest you to reset the database of media center and check if it helps.

Click Start, type cmd.exe in the search box, then right-click on cmd.exe and select run as administrator.

In the command prompt window, type the following command and press ENTER: MediaCenterRecoveryTask - %SystemRoot%\ehome\mcupdate.exe

Hope it solves the problem. For any other corresponding Windows help, do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to help you.

Hope this helps ;) I know that it is a complicated process and I understand the House will network computers running the Media Center. If you click on the following link, you should be able to determine if you have any problems of compatibility http://support.xbox.com/en-us/pages/xbox-360/troubleshoot/media-center-faq.aspx

I strongly recommend to contact Xbox customer service because they have a specialized department set up just to manage customers to help with the implementation and use of the Media Center/Media Extender services available.

However, here is an overview of some of the basics to have this work:

Some with Media Center PC/Windows versions are:

    • Windows 7 Home Premium or full, professional edition
    • Windows Vista Ultimate or Home Premium
    • Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005

Once the media center is installed on the pc, you must configure the xbox as a Media Extender and authorizes.

Finally, you need to add a network share connection between your console and your pc. This process can be a little intimidating, once again, I recommend that you contact customer service with the help of an expert in the Media Center .

  • How can I make Windows Media Center play 21-2 (CBS)? He gets full signal on the search, but does not play.

The station sister 21 - 1 plays very well. He asks to "frequency" add channel, however, I can only assume that the frequency of 2 numbers is the same 21 found already. Now what? Microsoft sent to HP, which has no support for WMC questions... by their staff in India.

It's Windows 7, Windows Media Center, the TV Tuner Hauppauge USB Q 950 running.

I am in Dallas, Texas. The station reads like T2D KTXA and KTXA DT 21-1 to 21-2... which is what WMC pulls upwards with you run the installer for my zip code.

However, 21-2 is in the CBS reality, KTVT, 11.

There is some confusion in my mind, as to what the frequency should be, having once been 19 and then received 11 temporarily, etc..

I tried to get 21, 19 and 11 as the frequency, but WMC will play whatever it is facing 19 or 11 and will play again only 21-1 when I get 21 as the frequency for 21-2 (when I try to add it).

I don't know what the reason for this problem, but I know there are across the country, in other markets, with WMC did not play all of the signals that it recognizes, even when they are large network signals OTA.

I hope anyone in the DFW area, has experienced this problem and know the exact fix so I can view the CBS programming, for which I seem to have perfect signal, but can not get of WMC to play.

    Thank you!

    =======================================
Movie Maker has problems with the .mpg files... best bet would be
to convert the .mpg files before importing the .wmv format.

Several formats are apparently compatible with
Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi
    Music - wma, wav, .wmv

    See the following article:

Movie Maker 2 - Import MPEG files
    http://www.Papajohn.org/mm2-importing-video-MPEG2.html

    The following freeware can convert:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Format Factory
    http://www.pcfreetime.com/
    (FWIW... you can uncheck
all the boxes on the last screen)

After downloading and installing Format Factory...
Open the program and choose an output folder...
(this is where you will find your files when they are
    converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

    Select "At?" / OK...
(the? is the format of your choice)

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

    Good luck...

  • Choppy video playback in Windows Media Center (Windows 7) WTV

I recently experienced a video playback jerky with windows media center.  Sometimes the recorded TV (WTV format) play very well for about 2-3 minutes until the video playback is very jerky (probably about 5 to 10 frames per second instead of the usual 30-60 fps).  The audio is not again normally.  Windows Movie maker also plays choppy video (Windows Media Player seems to work very well).  The main menu of Windows Media Center, itself becomes generally restless slow when I'm scrolling autour options, even when there is no video game in the background.  Video streaming on the Internet and DVD seems to play fine on Windows Media Center, and I can even stream HD video without problem.  I also know that this isn't a problem receiving the TV tuner since I test with the video recorded previously.  I bought my computer in June 2009 with Windows Vista and upgrade to Windows 7 a few months later.  Everything worked perfectly well until recently.

I tried to update my video card drivers, reallocation of Windows Media Center to a task of "high priority" to improve performance, the RAM Cache to improve the performance, my graphics card setting to low quality setting to have superior performance to compensation.  I even tried to reinstall Windows Media Center, reinstall Windows Media Player and the restoration of my entire computer to a State a few months in the past where the problem was not intervened.  The memory usage seems OK too (I have 6 GB).  Basically, I don't think that the issue is performance related.  I'm guessing that there is some little conflict, pilot program, codec, etc., which is originally the video playback to go bad after a few minutes.  Any thoughts?

For what it's worth, I was faced with the problem of stuttering for always (continuously from a WHS for a HP Media Center Extender) and had tried all of the recommended patches (updates driver, network card settings tweaking, etc..)  Nothing helps.  Last week my router died (Netgear WNDR3700, who was the State of the art when I bought it a year ago).  I replaced it with an old but unboxed Linksys WRT320N and stuttering all my problems disappeared.

  • How to read subtitles in Windows Media Center?

Hello! I bought a CD of movie and downloaded subtitles ".srt" for this movie. These subtitles ".srt" run in VLC media player by keeping just the video and the '.srt' in the same folder and two identical file names. But when I play the movie in Windows Media Center, the subtitles do not appear. How do I make them work?

    Hey Mary!
I'm sorry but I don't have the subtitles that are already there in the DVD. As I said, there are no subtitles in the DVD. There was just a .avi file. In VLC Media Player (that I currently use as my primary movie player), simply paste. SRT file in the same folder and check the file of the same name. VLC media player automatically detects and manages the subtitles with video. This technique works for all video formats that work with VLC Media player, includin, .mp4, .m4v, .mkv, .wmv, .avi, etc..

Is that we can run these subtitles .srt (sometimes .sub) with Windows Media Center?

You can, but you must tell the codec to load the subtitles.  I am assuming that you are using ffdshow, in video settings, there is a setting to enable and disable the subtitles, it is a function of the video decoder not the player, VLC comes just at a time.
