Impossible to deploy the virtual machine with customization.

Hi all

I have a model Winodws 2008 R2 Std and Ent.  I use to deploy virtual machines with the model using the Customization Wizard.  All of a sudden since 2 days I can't provision VMS with the wizard of customiation.  Earlier, there seems to be no problem with the customization, but when I turn on the virtual machine, I see errors, attached is the screen shot for your reference.

After the error 2 the vm keeps restarting without end time.

I don't know what is the cause.  Please help me with the problem.  Let me know if you need additional information.

Thanks in advance.

Hey there,

Have you tried to get the Microsoft Windows product key? And maybe the password in the profile customization.

If this does not work, try using a new profile customization.

Let us know how things work!

See you soon,.

  • The mouse is confused - almost impossible to use the virtual machine more...

    Hello

    I use a number of VMWare (6.0.7 build-2844087) sessions player on my i7 quad core Windows 8.1 system for separate processes.  I don't do anything in my main boot environment is nice and clean.  I have a player for web browsing, one for email and a few others (game, video editing, etc.).  This separation gives me an easy backup/restore option for any computer virtual as well as prevention 1 VMS are attacked/infected/hacked/etc most I can lose, it is what is in this virtual machine.

    Something broke all of a sudden.  I don't know if it was the last update for VMware tools or some change made by windows update or maybe even a setting that I did.

    But now, my mouse is very confused.  If you look at the picture, you can see 2 pointers.  The bottom is my VM. The top appears with the VMWare container think that the mouse should be there. And the relationship between the 2 pointers constantly changes.  So I can select something in the virtual machine, but the tank of the virtual machine can think the mouse is on the VM bar and when I click the virtual computer closes, presentation of the changes of the screen, minimize, etc..

    badmouse.jpg

    I did some research.  All of my text is set to the smallest size (the most common fix I found.)  I have re-installed VMWare tools.  I tried to change the mouse settings in my VM and the primary host environment.

    It's to the point where I can't click without 1st checking the top of the window on my main screen or risk losing work, etc..

    Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

    Thank you

    If anyone is interested in distance, I finally solved the problem.  My guess is that I could have reinstalled the main operating system.  Instead, I've upgraded to 10 Windows and then installed Player 7.1.2.  On the plus side, no more problems with 2 pointers mouse with one randomly showing where and when he wanted.

    On the negative, I always have to press Ctrl-Alt to get to the VMWare bar at the top of the window.  But it is a small price to pay for now to be productive again.

    FWIW, my guess is that upgrading to 7.1.2 is really what makes the difference.

  • Report by the virtual machine with tools obsolete and/or material email

    Hi all

    The subject of this thread pretty much says all this, but just to remind I want to generate a report of computer virtual tools with just e-mail and or equipment outdated, I have searched around a bit but don't seem to find all the vm where I try to exclude the VMs to date of this report, also I prefer in a format of e-mail if possible. I'd appreciate any help or links to help meet this goal.

    Yes, that's what makes the - or in the condition of the Where clause.

    If one of the two conditions is not met, the virtual machine will be in the report.

    Hey guys,.

    IM the difficulty to create a virtual machine with the type of controller SCSI to "LSI Logic SAS". The cmdlet New - VM im struggling to find where to create the type of controller?

    If you create a virtual machine without specifying a disk it will create a 4 GB SCSI type thick (0:0) hard drive 1 with 0 Parrall default BusLogic SCSI controller.

    What im wanting to do is to create a disk hard which is thin Prov. and create SCSI LSI logic SAS controller is set to.

    I have recived of aid by some LucD who helped direct the value of the network card in the New - VM cmdlet as follows. But I'm not able to add a hose for hard disk also like:

    | Get-hard drive | Together-hard drive - Datastore $datastore - slim StorageFormat

    And I have no idea how change the type of SCSI conroller or create it with the correct configuration?

    Any help would be great,

    Thanks in advance

    Eddie

    Greetings, steddyeddie-

    You should be able to use Set - hard drive and SCSI controller Set cmdlets to set the storage format of your hard drive and the SCSI controller type, respectively.  You were close to on the part of game - hard drive .  Try something like:

    ## get the VM object $vmVMSTORE23 = Get-VM VMSTORE23 ## set the harddisk storageformat to thin$vmVMSTORE23 | Get-HardDisk | Set-HardDisk -StorageFormat Thin ## set the SCSI controller type$vmVMSTORE23 | Get-ScsiController | Set-ScsiController -Type VirtualLsiLogicSAS

    It could pack in to your existing order to keep it as a good word, but for readability.

    Enjoy

    Host-Only is VMnet1, you used only NAT. static use of intellectual property and switch to DHCP for now. Make sure that the VMWare DHCP Server service is running. Put network cards in comments to "host-only '.

    Post your host ' ipconfig/all'.

  • Moving the virtual machines with FastSCP

    Hello

    I have a question, I would like to know if anyone has done this before, I copy on an external hard drive, some virtual machines so that I can transfer them to another site.

    If I use FastSCP copy host ESX 3.5 Update 4 to post HD then copy them to vmfs another of the host partition, and then use the importer of them for import into the Vcenter to the other site.

    Because someone told me that if I use FastSCP vs WinSCP I can do something that WinSCP can not do, and I don't remember what it was, but believe that it had to do with vmfs? So if someone has done this, please let me know.

    Thank you

    -Mike

    Because someone told me that if I use FastSCP vs WinSCP I can do something that cannot make WinSCP,

    Not true.  The one who told you this, needs to get a job, because they have no idea.  It is just a file.  It doesn't matter HOW transfer you.  If we transfer correctly it will work, let it be.

    Also, you cannot use importing, unless you transfer the entire folder, because the importer (or VM converter) requires the vmx file identify the configuration of the virtual machine.

    Personally, I find that WinSCP is better, FastSCP has firewall problems, and it's a hassle.  The BEST is: http://www.bitvise.com/tunnelier

    All in one tool, SSH, file transfer.

  • See the virtual machines with multiple tags in a category

    Good afternoon-

    I'm looking for a way to list all virtual computers that have several tags of a certain category. In my situation, I use VMware tags to control the selection of lists for my backup software. I have a category of tag called tags said 'Monday', 'Tuesday', and "Backup Job" etc. I'm looking for a script that will tell me all the virtual machines that have multiple labels in the category of backup, as the 'Monday' and 'Thursday' tags, for example.

    Thank you!

    Try something like this

    $tagCatName = "save jobs".

    $tagCat = get-TagCategory-name $tagCatName

    Get - VM | where {(Get-TagAssignment-entité $_-catégorie $tagCat).} {Count - gt 1} |

    Select Name,

    @{N = 'Tags'; E = {[string]: join ("," (Get-TagAssignment-entity $_-category $tagCat | % {$_.}))} Tag.Name}))}}

  • View of the Virtual Machine with the host name of the filtering

    Hello

    I'm trying to get a specific view of the Virtual Machine from a hypervisor.

    Basically, I tried to reuse an idea found on the script of cdromdisconnect.pl, an address in http://communities.VMware.com/message/1192878#1192878

    The code would be

    My $host_view = Vim::find_entity_view)
    view_type = > 'HostSystem. "
    filter = > {'name' = > $vm_hypervisor_name},
    );

    My $host_moref = $host_view-> {mo_ref} {value};

    $vm_view = Vim::find_entity_views)
    view_type = > 'VirtualMachine.
    filter = > {}
    'runtime.host' = > $host_moref,

    'name' = > $vm_name,

    },
    );

    But the API said that "filtering is only supported for the Simple Type"

    So I'm just the host_view and then call the property "-> virtual machine" to recover all the vm of the host, and then I loop inside the table to retrieve the name and the virtual machine, I am looking

    But, is there not a smoother way to directly get the view of the entity of VM to a specific host?

    Thank you

    Give a try:

    $host_view = Vim::find_entity_view (view_type-online "HostSystem", filter-online {'name'-online $host_name}) | Die "could not get $host_name!"

    $vm_view = Vim::find_entity_views)
    view_type-online 'VirtualMachine.
    filter-online {'name'-online $vm_name},

    begin_entity => $host_view.

    },
    );

    Get - VM | where {$_.cddrives} | Select Name, @{N = ' connected'; E = {(get-CDDrive-VM $_).} ConnectionState}}
