Impossible to do a clean install on a Partitioned drive C - the screen of the Machine is a "black screen" after Microsoft NVidia driver updated optional; Cannot roll back.

Some time before, Microsoft had an optional update for the NVidia graphics driver on a 32-bit F3V ASUS laptop.

Prior to that, everything worked perfectly. The only problem was with this 'bad' optional driver update that was installed once before; and got the black screen, but managed to make it back this time.

The machine has two partitions; both have a defined password.

I lost the password to one of them and have no backup.

Until the black screen, antivirus updates have been updated.

The equipment works properly.

Other than a slight overheating issue while games graphics w/3D acceleration (83 degrees Celsius), the machine works pretty much perfectly.

The machine display perfectly in safe mode.

Done the following:

(1) roll back; has failed because the regular (important) Windows Update has not created a restore point * and * previous restore points had been erased.

(2) the Startup Repair (without and then with the Windows 7 installation disc). Message says "unable to repair.

(3) w/installer disk, went to the command line as an administrator, tried to format c: received message "there is not enough space on this partition. Please allocate more space, and then try again. "

(4) boot safe mode with network, downloaded and successfully installed the updates of the NVidia - graphics driver and still have the black screen to normal startup.

Went 5) for computer management and cleanmgr without success.

I'm almost ready to consider a shop.

If you have compatible hardware and your computer still stops responding, disable any unnecessary material. Remove (USB) universal serial bus devices. Remove or disable network cards, sound cards and cards of the series; and then restart the installation.

  • X 220 clean install. Now, no OSD and the battery don't charge threshold

    Hello world

I installed an mSATA SSD last night with the 2.5 hdd 320 "stock on my X220i (4286-2AU). I did a clean install of Windows 7 on mSATA, that will be my OS drive.

I installed most of the drivers for the devices, but note that even if most of the function keys (FN +...) (the WIFI FN + 5 even does not), is no longer there we're working on a display on the screen. I play with this before clean install so I know that with the factory settings, OSD worked very well. I check the display properties in Windows and on screen display is checked.

In addition, in the power manager, I have more the possibility to set minimum and maximum battery charge start and stop the thresholds.

For the power management driver I installed only
    Power Manager for Windows 7 (32 bit, 64 bit), Vista (32-bit, 64-bit) - ThinkPad

and to the left of two other pilots:

    • Driver ThinkPad Power Management for Windows 7 (32 bit, 64 bit), Vista (32 bit, 64 bit), XP (32-bit, 64-bit) - ThinkPad
    • Module ThinkPad Power Manager Patch for Windows 7 (32 bit, 64 bit), Vista (32 bit, 64 bit), XP - ThinkPad

I've also already installed I think I should have to take care of OSD but I guess I was wrong:
Integration of features Hotkey for Windows 7 (32 bit, 64 bit), Vista (32 bit, 64 bit), XP (32-bit, 64-bit) and 2000 - ThinkPad

    but decided to jump:
ThinkVantage Access Connections for Windows 7 (32 bit, 64 bit) - laptops

Would appreciate any help on this matter. He's not a killer, but thresholds OSD and battery were something I was looking forward from that installed clean.

    Thank you!!!

    Hi alanbrenton;

Did you put it in there.

This must go with shortcut keyboard and Power Manager.

  • Clean install of Windows 8 coming with the 0x8007025D error Code

    Hello

I bought a Windows 8 Pro upgrade for my system under Windows 7 Home Premium. I have a Dell Inspiron N5110.

I downloaded the upgrade Assistant Manager and he ran. Eager to do a clean install, I did an installation of Windows 8 ISO on a USB key.

I then upgraded my version of BIOS A02 to A11. (Successfully)

Now, I started the installation by booting from the USB drive. Eager to do a clean install, I had to format all disks and create new partitions.  After that the actual installation has started and he went on the fine up to 35% (Getting Ready files). After the 35%, I got an Error Message with the error Code: 0x8007025D.

I'm still stuck in the same situation. Since I formatted my whole hard drive, I don't have any BONE to return and that the files on the USB.

    Troubleshooting tried-

Tried to start installation from scratch. Did not work.
Delete all new partitions and tried again. Did not work.
Unplug all unnecessary devices. Did not work.

After reviewing various forums online, I think the groundwork here would be to recreate the installation drive (USB key). But since I formatted EVERYTHING, I can't launch Manager upgrade again on the same laptop.

Please suggest a work around as soon as possible.

    Thank you.

My hard drive crashed on my Hp laptop.  I installed a new hard drive and want to install my os vista on the computer.  I did the recovery disks when I bought the computer and told me that I could reinstall the operating system on the new hard drive.  My problem is that I keep getting error codes 1005 and 100a.  It stops the installation.  I then told me that I have to buy own recovery disks.  Can someone make me scroll through the process of getting the OS on my computer.  Can I use the recovery disk that I did or do I need to buy new, or I need to find a single version of full vista... • Is no longer able to install windows updates after factory reset (windows service exception / failure set up the updates of windows roll back)

So suddenly, I wanted to start my 3 month old laptop, but found that it was getting a system service exception.

After hours of troubleshooting, I decided to go with a clean installed, this has completely fine until I installed the updates of windows (I have to install these updates to return Windows 8.1)

After you install all the following updates occurs after a reboot:

-Default configuration of the windows updates, roll back later, I get a system service exception.

    - Or directly a system service exception.

These problems are solveable by a system restore to a point that has no updates.

The next thing I could try is install the updates of windows 1 by 1 to see the update is causing this particular problem.

If anyone has a way to solve this problem please help.

  • Impossible to get a clean install MS Office Home and Student 2010

Running Windows 7, 64 bit, on a new HP Pavilion dv6-1149wm.  The CD Microsoft Office Home and student 2010 that came with our new laptop HP was sealed & in excellent condition. The product key is good and when the installation is complete, all looks like the suite is running... But... MS Access, Outlook, and Publisher open as 'demo', with 'outdated date', and then the program stops.  Nowhere on the packaging, or on the screen it says these three programs have not were included in our purchase... it's a full CD Version of MS Office home & student 2010 included with our new HP laptop.

After only a partial installation, we had MAJOR problems, it do Uninstall... had these error messages like: "problems with the registry", a "matter of WOW64", "keys to registry corrupt Patch" and "corrupt or missing patch cache".   Finally found a version of Mr. Fix - it on the MS site that seems to have everything removed (uninstall program was no help at all)... and then ran my Max registry cleaner (he finds plenty to fix).  Back to the drawing board, and I am SO afraid to try the installation "another one".

I spent countless hours in the last 3 months in trying to get out.  Is it possible there is a factory setting on my PC which is not driven out of the trial on these 3 programs and prevents proper installation?  I totally liked my HP Pavilion Desktop Windows XP... and would have never replaced she had not "upwards of"n"is dead"... and until now Windows 7 has not measured up to - not even close!

    Thanks for ANY help!

    Hello

Unfortunately, "Home and Student" edition only comes with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and One Note.

During the installation, you should have an opportunity to not install these trial versions.  That could help your installation problems.

Create a set of recovery disks operating system

HP Recovery Manager to create a personal set of recovery disks. When you select the recovery disc creation process, the HP Recovery Manager examines the PC and determines how many virgins DVD discs will be necessary. According to the model, you will need up to ten or more CD - R or CD-R, or up to three discs DVD-R or DVD + R. The creation process can take up to an hour or more. Do not interrupt the process of creation.
CAUTION:  Disks must be CD - R, DVD - R or DVD + r using No CD-R/W or DVD - R/W drives read/write because the creation process will fail.

Disc is clean, no scratches and has been used before for a clean install of Vista successfully.  using the external DVD drive.

created the startup key file on the USB stick 4 GB transfer - always get error even come on the attempt to clean install.

problem with the system is that .msi place all the files in the installation program and disappeared.  Impossible to uninstall or reinstall any microsoft office 2007 or live broadcasts.   all the icons disappeared, and same MS security essentials cannot uninstall or reinstall.  found settings changed to exclude an external drive and erase all programming suspicious without telling me.

a restore during initial problems just made it worse and had to wipe the external drive.

must be able to clean installation of Vista, but the installer is apparently what is messed up.

    Help?

is OS provided with the machine and disk drive recovery gateway... but all the vista.  It DOES NOT install any other gateway programs included on laptop, and purely a vista installation DVD.

and used the front disc to install, w/no of problems.  error message indicates the installation is unable to locate the files needed and made it to halfway through step 2.  said to check the 'vista compatibility.  who do not know because machine has run vista since its birth.

Gateway tries just to sell time tech and renovation... Please no more links.  KNOW that gateway to acer and almost and no longer in the game.  don't care... always the problem of microsoft, and IF they are not concerned with a copy validates their OS prevented install... so guess that means we should start writing our own OS programs!

  • After a clean install, Yosemite Mail crashes at launch

I have re-installed Yosemite and upgrade 10.10.5 three days ago. Yesterday, I recreated 11 non-iCloud email accounts. I launched Mail and proceeded to uncheck the option "automatically detect and maintain the parameters" and to replace the port numbers incoming and outgoing according to the instructions of the ISP, I consulted in order to avoid the main Contacts and issues of mail in the course of the two months since my original Yosemite clean install - issues that have worsened to the point where I was advised in these forums to re - install. If I had known everything uncheck this option, perhaps none of these problems would be developed?

After unchecking the option and change the port numbers for the incoming server and outgoing 11 IMAP accounts, I took all online accounts. Mail seems to be stable. I quit Mail and relaunched it five minutes later, just to be sure. He froze immediately on launch; There is not enough time to click on anything before spinning beachball appears and never goes away. I checked the Sys Prefs/Internet accounts: no problem.

Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

  • Clean install SSD - OWC?

I'm a late 2012 Mac mini server that I use as a desktop computer. Last week, I replaced one of the disks 1 to with an OWC Mercury EXTREME Pro 6 G 120 GB. OWC seems to be well-regarded and that was their player compatible with my most popular mini, I swapped the 1 TB for the SSD without problem.

I had previously done a clean install on the disk of 1 TB of my mini and I am familiar with the creation of a Setup disk, I tried to do a clean install again on the SSD that failed (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7592029).

Finally, I had a recovery Partition installed which took my slow rural connection of many hours, and let me go back to Mavericks, then I was an upgrade of the El Capitan 10.11.5.

Is that the reason for the new thread, I am uncomfortable that I cannot do a clean install with this SSD and trying to determine if this is the exact model, brand or a problem with SSD in general is the problem (I even tried a second disc of this model). I even though it is possible that the 10.11.5 install was the question, but I tried installing to an SD card in my mini, which went without a hitch and I could start it.

So, for those who have done a 'clean install' on a 3rd party SSD, they added to their machine:

Were you able to complete the installation without error?

Do you have what version of Mac OS X installed?

What brand and model of the Player did you use?

    What Mac model you have?

I am trying to root out, why it does not work and if it's just the brand / model of the disk or something more, any other idea you can offer would be helpful. I want a drive that I can do a clean install, 10.11.5 at least for the moment and I hope to new OS X that are coming (I know that no one can guarantee that).

    -Thank you

Who say replace with the SSD? The bottom (nearest the black cover on the bottom) or the top? Some users have reported problems with an SSD in the upper Bay.
