Impossible to establish VPN Site to Site

Hi guys, please guide me in the right direction. Had difficulty getting VPN Comms for weeks now. State of VMware Support all well on their side and my guy of networking in the field say the same thing.

I should mention that we did with success of VPN to AWS and Azure from the same site on Prem.

I can't establish an East / West comms, no not even ICMP between VCC on prem and AIR nodes. but has been able to set up Internet with virtual machines in vCA (North/South)

My VPN status on edge gateway services is RED (no access) but activated. I checked the settings on our other clouds that work, and the config looks the same.

Things I go back on >

* Peer IP > when setting this up, vCA says "If the peer is NAT would be, this must be the public side address NAT.»

* Local end point > IP listed in the config file is listed as FREE under bridge details, why would it be free if it is assigned to the VPN session?

* Makes the following two actions, when you look at Masters edge gateways? Re-apply a Configuration of Service and redeploy? I want to reset my edge session, do not drop the settings.

As the I understand, I won't need any particular rule of SNAT to be able to do a ping on VCC prem nodes / or upstream? is that correct?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, it's reflecting well on the AIR, whereas the AWS and Azure worked the 1st time.

He ends up being the 3rd party business networking that has implemented the ASA on Prem. Almost doubted vCA :-)

  • Routing of PIX VPN site to Site?

    I just configured my PIX to establish VPN site to site with my Linksys (1710 to follow).

    Looks like my SA and IPSec are set up, but I get no routing. When I do a tracert, my PIX transmits all traffic to my internet router and not through the tunnel.

    Any ideas?

    I've replied to you offline, try adding the following command on the pix (in configuration mode):

    ISAKMP nat-traversal

    And now try to ping to your customers of the remote peer, let me know the results.

  • Site to Site VPN of IOS - impossible route after VPN + NAT

    I have problems with a VPN on 2 routers access 8xx: I am trying to set up a quick and dirty VPN Site to Site with a source NAT VPN tunnel endpoint. This configuration is only intended to run from one day only inter. I managed to do the work of VPN and I traced the translations of NAT VPN tunnel endpoint, but I couldn't make these translated packages which must move outside the access router, because intended to be VPN traffic network is not directly connected to leave the router. However, I can ping the hosts directly connected to the router for access through the VPN.

    Something done routing not to work, I don't think the NATing, because I tried to remove the NAT and I couldn't follow all outgoing packets that must be sent, so I suspect this feature is not included in the IOS of the range of routers Cisco 8xx.

    I'm that extends the features VPN + NAT + routing too, or is there a configuration error in my setup?

    First of all, when I went through your config, I saw these lines,

    With 255.255.255.248 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.254 subnet will fall to different subnets. So I don't think you can join 192.168.2.0/24 subnet to the local router at this point. I think you should fix that first.

    Maybe have 192.168.1.2 255.255.255. 248 on the router connected (instead of 192.168.1.254)

    Once this has been done. We will have to look at routing.

    You are 172.31.0.2-> 192.168.1.11 natting


    Now, in order for that to work, make sure that a source addresses (192.168.1.11) NAT is outside the subnet router to router connected (if you go with 192.168.1.0/29 subnet router to router, with 192.168.1.1/29 on the local router and 192.168.1.2/29 on the connected router as suggested, it will be fine). So in this case 192.168.1.8/29 to the subnet that your NAT would be sources fall.

    Have a static route on the router connected (192.168.1.2) for the network 192.168.1.8/29 pointing 192.168.1.1,

    If you have an interface on the connected rotuer which includes the NAT would be source address range, let's say 192.168.1.254/24, even if you do your packages reach somehow 192.168.2.0/24, the package return never goes to the local router (192.168.1.1) because the connected router sees it as a connected subnet, so it will only expire

  • Routing of traffic between two VPN Site-to-Site Tunnels

    I am trying to establish routing between two vpn Site-to-Site tunnels which are destined for the same outside the interface of my Cisco ASA.

    Please find attached flowchart for the same thing. All used firewalls are Cisco ASA 5520.

    Two VPN tunnels between Point A and Point B, Point B and Point C is too much upward. I activated same command to permit security level interface also intra.

    How can I activate the LAN subnets traffic behind Point to join LAN subnets behind C Point without having to create a tunnel separated between Point A and Point C

    Basically, you will need to NAT0 and VPN rules on each site to allow this traffic.

    I think that the configurations should look something like below. Naturally you will already probably a NAT0 configuration and certainly the L2L VPN configuration

    Hello. We try to establish a VPN site-to site between two ASA firewalls, let's call them ASA1 and ASA2. Problem is that ASA1 cannot start the connection. ISAKMP of ASA1 packets reach ASA2, but removed by an unwritten rule.

    When ASA2 launches, everything is OK. And while the stream exists on ASA2, ASA1 use flow, so he can start VPN also.

    ASA1 added to inbound ACL on the external interface of the ASA2 did not help. Using tracers of package in ASDM has not point to any specific rule, he just showed the entire list of the ACL rules. Using asp-menu type capture displays the reason of gout as packet-tracer, without more details. ASA2 layout only response did not help.

    How to interpret the values of phase 4, i.e. to find the rule that causes drops, based on the id and other data? There is no such id in HS to access lists.

  • 800 series vpn site to site?

    Hello, I have a brand new pair of 851w with ios version 12.4 (15) T7. I can't seem to get a vpn site-to set up, I was able to use these seccessfully 800 series in the past. I have stripped the configs down to the essentials and still cannot be established.

    When I do a crypto session see the everything seems okay, but the connection is "down".

    I'm not 100% sure on my cryptographic transformation

    "crypto ipsec transform-set esp - aes AES-SHA-compression hmac-sha-esp computer-lzs" I'm not sure that the 800 series will support encryption or if I should use something else.

  • Problem VPN site to Site with overlapping networks

    We currently have a PIX 515E firewall as a headboard with many tunnels of site-to-site configured for her with the enpoints of PIX 506. Our internal LAN addressing scheme is 172.18.0.0 255.255.0.0. Addresses of local network in two of the remote networks with congigured VPN site-to-site are 172.18.107.0 255.255.255.224 and 172.18.107.32 255.255.255.0. Remote network access to all services on our internal network very well. We have 20 other network segments configured the same way. The 172.18.107.32.0 network needs to communicate with the 172.18.107.0 network for the services of file on the other remote PIX. Since the station PIX will not allow traffic to leave the same interface it came we thought with him we would just set up a tunnel from site to site between the two remote LAN. After the configuration of the site to another remote firewalls do not appear to try to establish tunnels when sending valuable traffic. I turned on debug for ISAKMP and nothing is either sent or received on a remote Firewall with regard to these tunnels. It's almost like since we already have a tunnel set to our 172.18.0.0 internal LAN that the remote PIX will not build specifically to 172.18.107.0 tunnel. I am able to ping each remote peer with each other and hear protection rules, but nothing has ever been established.

    Is what we are trying to do possible? Sorry for the long post but the kind of a strange scenario. Thanks in advance for any help.

    In what order are the numbers of seqence card crypto for configuring vpn on pix distance units? It could be that you are trying to install is a lot and will be checked later as head of pix. If this is the case, then yes the 172.18/16 road prevail the 172.18.107/24. Try to rebuild the entrance card crypto with a lower number so that traffic to 172.18.107/24 comes first.

  • Help with 1921 SRI Easy VPN remote w / Easy VPN Site-to-Site access

    I have two 1921 ISR routers configured with easy site to site VPN.  I configured VPN each ISR ACL so that all networks on each site can communicate with the private networks of the other site.   I have a 1921 SRI also configured as an easy VPN server.

    Problem: when a remote user connects to the easy VPN server, the user can only access private networks on the site of the VPN server.  I added the IP network that is used for remote users (i.e. the Easy VPN Server IP pool) to each VPN ACL 1921, but the remote user still cannot access other sites private network via the VPN site to another and vice versa.

    Problem: I also have a problem with the easy VPN server, do not place a static host route in its routing table when he established a remote connection to the remote user and provides the remote user with an IP address of the VPN server's IP pool.  The VPN server does not perform this task the first time the user connects.  If the user disconnects and reconnects the router VPN Server does not have the static host route in its routing table for the new IP address given on the later connection.

    The ASAs require the "same-security-traffic intra-interface permits" to allow through traffic but routers allow traversed by default (is there no need for equivalent command).

    Therefore, VPN clients can access A LAN but can't access the Remote LAN B on the Site to Site.

    You have added the pool of the VPN client to the ACL for the interesting site to Site traffic.

    You must also add the Remote LAN B to the ACL of tunneling split for VPN clients (assuming you are using split tunneling).

    In other words, the VPN router configuration has for customers VPN should allow remote control B LAN in the traffic that is allowed for the VPN clients.

    You can check the above and do the following test:

    1. try to connect to the remote VPN the B. LAN client

    2. check the "sh cry ips his" for the connection of the VPN client and check if there is a surveillance society being built between the pool and Remote LAN B.

    Hi Alain,

    The maximum number of IPSec tunnels on the 1841 would be 50 not 1. The message from Module 1 you see refers to the embedded encryption module that comes with the 1841. This module allows the router to encrypt the traffic via the hardware rather than software to improve its performance.

    I don't think there is a limit on the number of Tunnels since they are just logical interfaces through which you wrap and carry traffic.

  • Use the remote website via VPN site-to-site

    Hi all

    We have two sites, the site has and B. At site A, we have a Web site we want to share with all of site B. Currently, site B can access the site via the VPN site-to site on X 0, which is their LAN. Nothing outside X 0 cannot access or ping to the address.

    We added access rules to allow access from the DMZ to this interface, but again, no ping and no communication at all. The other strange thing is that we see that no trip package for these access rules either.

    Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

    It seems that the demilitarized zone is not part of the VPN tunnel.

    Can you confirm that the DMZ subnet is part of local destinations on the site B and a part of the local destinations on site?

    I have a very weird problem (at least for me)

    I have a UC520 connected to an ASA5510 via the VPN Site to Site.

    I can ping from clients behind customer UC520 behind ASA5510.

    I can ping from clients behind ASA5510 customer behind UC520

    I can access services (such as RDP) clients behind customer UC520 behind ASA5510

    I can't go to services (such as RDP, HTTP) clients behind customer ASA5510 behind UC520

    Does anyone have an idea where I should look? I tried to remove any access list by (temporarily) to a permit ip everything any line in these.

    I think it must be some sort of NAT problem, but I'm not sure.

    You said your UC logs revealed nothing trying to connect a.11 et.12, this means that traffic is never achieved to the CPU at all, got to the UC and was abandoned before entering the LAN or traffic got to the hosts but never returned.

    Internal hosts to other outgoing routes defined on them (unlikely but possible), and you can check that traffic is through the UC outside interface at least?

    First post on the forums. I have worked with Cisco ASA 5505 for a few months and I recently bought a 2nd ASA to implement tunnel VPN Site to Site. It seems so simple in the number of videos watched on the internet. But when I did he surprise it did work for me... I've removed the tunnels, a number of times and tried to recreate. I use the VPN Wizard in the SMA to create the tunnel. Both the asa 5505 of are and have the same firmware even etc..

    Hello

    There are some clear problems I see on a quick glance. These are not related to the actual VPN configuration but rather the NAT configurations.

    All your configuration of NAT CLI format above are configured as manual NAT / double NAT in Section 1. This means that the appliance NAT configurations have been added to the same section of the NAT configurations and scheduling of the NAT inside this Section rules is the cause of the problem for the L2L VPN connection for some.

    Here are a few suggestions on what to change

    ASA1

    Minimal changes

    That means foregoing is first of all create 'object' that contain the local LAN and remote LANs. Then, it creates a NAT0 rule and adds to the top rules NAT. (number 1). It is essentially of at least one of the problems preventing the VPN operation or traffic that cross.

    Finally, we remove the old rule that generated the ASDM. It would do the same thing if it has been moved to the top, but I generally find the creation of the 'object' with descriptive names easier on the eyes in the long term.

    Other suggestions

    These changes are not necessary with regard to the VPN L2L. Here are some suggestions how to clean a part of NAT configurations.

Then we remove the old PAT dynamic configurations.

    Contains the command "nat" "car after" because it moving this "nat" configuration to the bottom of the NAT rules. For this reason its less likely to cause problems in the future.

    The above configuration is supposed to create a NAT0 configuration for traffic between the network and the pool of Client VPN server. To my knowledge the old configuration that remove us is not used because the traffic would have matched PAT rule dynamic server yet rather than this rule which is later in the NAT configurations and would not be addressed.

    That means foregoing is first of all create 'object' that contain the local LAN and remote LANs. Then, it creates a NAT0 rule and adds to the top rules NAT. (number 1). It is essentially of at least one of the problems preventing the VPN operation or traffic that cross.

    Finally, we remove the old rule that generated the ASDM.

    The above configuration is supposed to do the same thing with the other ASA. Although given that this network contains only a single subnet it cleans the "nat" configurations exist that much. But the order of the "nat" configurations is changed to avoid further problems with the NAT order.

    It seems to me that network 192.168.1.0/24 is not configured from anywhere in your network. Therefore, the above 'nat' configuration seems useless, can be deleted. If I missed something and its use in then of course do not remove it.

    I suggest trying the changes related to VPN L2L first NAT0 configurations and test traffic. So who gets the work of connectivity, then you could consider changing other NAT configurations. There are other things that could be changed also in what concerns THAT static NAT servers but that probably better left for another time.
