Impossible to import the directory NFS: no expandable tree

I use Lightroom 4.3 on Mac OS X Lion mountains (10.8.1).

I cannot import files of a directory mounted through NFS, because records are not nodes of rocker, so I can't navigate the tree on my existing photo library.  It is not practical or desirable to import the complete NFS file system.

I got to the origin of the file system mounted with the following options:

FreeNAS: / mnt/vol_home/nfs_home on/Volumes/home (nfs, nodev, nosuid, automatically, nobrowse)

And while I can see the root of the file system in the left side of the import window, and directories have small icons of file next to them, the small triangular rockers beside them are grayed out.  If I chose a directory and checked "include subfolders", then Lightroom would be made through the tree and show me all the images.  But I don't want to import my entire file system.  I need browse my photo directory tree, but the rockers are "grayed out."  It is difficult to see them dimmed when the background is grey too, but they are there, weak as they are.

So, I thought that maybe the "nobrowse" option was something to do with the inability to navigate.  I used "NFS Utility" to remove the 'nobrowse' option and back up the file system.  It is now mounted with the following options:

FreeNAS: / mnt/vol_home/nfs_home on/Volumes/home (nfs, nodev, nosuid, noatime)

And while I can see the root of the file system in the left side of the import window, and then the directories have icons of file bit next to them, [most of] rockers next to them are still grayed out.  Here is a screenshot of the import window, alongside a Finder window, which of course allows me to open the rockers and navigate correctly.  The fact that Finder works implies to me that this is not a permissions problem.  Of course, I can also 'cd', using the terminal command line.  The problem of navigation seems to be limited to the Lightroom application.

I hope that you can see on the screenshot, that only the folder 'Michel' has a working rocker.  The other rockers are grayed out (which is really hard to see).  I need to navigate under "farid", but cannot.   Finder can open the rocker 'family' and can open the subfolders under "farid" very well.

Why lightroom refuses to let me open these files?

Thanks in advance.

I discovered a way to get Lightroom to navigate my NFS directory!  Using the help, I learned here:

http://feedback.Photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom_4_3_import_from_and_to_nfs _mounted_filesystem_does_not_work

I discovered that not only I need to use a non-standard mount point (I chose "/ nas"), but I also had to come up with the option 'rdirplus' (aka 'ReaddirPlus NFSv3 use feature').  I used the advantage German 3rd package 'NFS Manager' to help me assemble and disassemble quickly, while the activation and the deactivation of the options on the left and right to try to understand this problem.  It also allows me to define as a "montage".  Before Mac OS X 10.8 (mountain lion), there was a GUI in disk utility to allow me to specify the NFS mounts, but from mountain lion, the button has disappeared, for unclear reasons.

In any case, I got lightroom to navigate my NFS server by mounting on the file, and specifying the "rdirplus" option in the mount command.

  • Is that someone has seen an ORA-16796 (impossible to import the properties) in DGMGRL?

    Hello brain trust,

I have an Oracle 11.1.0.7 primary and have configured an 11.1.0.7 Eve. The config is our recipe for 10g. The broker is in place on both sides.

I'm going to add DGMGRL primary, no problem. But when I add the day before, I get ORA-16796 (impossible to import the properties). Digging into tracking logs, he mentions an ORA-01017 (username/password invalid). But I have no problem connecting as "conn sys/password@db_standby as sysdba".

I got this ORA-16796 times before in the distant past, and the problem is that someone has changed the SYS password on the primary without updating the eve orapwd file. In this case, it is NOT the problem. I put in a fresh orapwd on both sides (bounced the DBs later), and I explicitly put the SYS password on primary before cloning the expectations. And once again, no problem doing a "CONN sys/***@db_standby as sysdba" primary. I can talk to the wait, look at its tables of $ V, etc. tnsping, etc all work fine. listening port on both sides shows services. DG broker is in place on both sides.

Tried the shuffle "stop broker, remove all the config, start db broker, try again ' a few times with no luck.

I'm really scratching my head on what it could be. Open an SR with Oracle, but I was wondering if anyone here has any other advice?

Something has radically changed 10 g-> 11 g about DG? I admit that this is our first instance 11g and I'm based its config on what we are doing for 10g.

Something was changing in the security about the SYSDBA distance model? Again, I have no problem connecting as SYSDBA in the primary for the ORA-01017 really confused me.

The config is the result of our recipe of 10g - you copied the file password from the primary to the standby when you create the day before? 11g a password different internals file and simply create one for the day before with the same password no longer works.

I am doing tests on GBA through the CLI.

I would like to import files from a remote repository to test the command "import data".

I've created a repository of the CLI and when I do a repository 'show', I can see the contents of the directory.

When I run the command 'import - data', I got the error "unable to import the file""repository remote «repository_name»»

  • Impossible to import the raw files from canon g16 in lightroom 4

I have a new Canon g16 and can't import raw files into my lightroom 4.  I downloaded the recommended dng converter (canon g16 was one of the devices listed on the support list) and I always get the error message on lightroom being impossible to import and raw riles the g16.  When I checked for software updates, it says there is none - that my lightroom software 4 was "aware".  Does this mean I have to buy lightroom 5 or 6?

    Hi kerryem,

Canon 16 G has been initially supported by Lightroom 5.2.See devices supported by Adobe Camera Raw

Please switch to Lightroom latest version 6 to be able to process raw images from new cameras.

Alternatively, you can use the DNG Converter to convwert G16 raw to DNG files and then import them into Lightroom 4. see help Photoshop | Digital negative converter Adobe 9.x

  • Impossible to import the MTS with first Pro CC (2014)

I have the problem with first Pro CC (2014) and Media Encoder CC (2014). "Compression of media is not supported" (or something like that, it's in German...)

After effects CC (2014) and Prelude CC (2014) there is no problem to import these files.

I already did a project with the file of the theses in first Pro CC a few months ago!

    Hi Das modular,

Move media to another directory, drive, or simply change the name of the folder where your media. You should be able to import the files after that.

  • Impossible to import the raw files from Canon T6i ti Lightroom 3

I can't import my photos in my new T6i Canon to lightroom 3, even if my lightroom is up-to-date. It says that the files are a camera that is not supported by lightroom raw format.

    Help, please.

You need 6 Lightroom / Lightroom CC 2015 or later.

Free alternative: download the Adobe DNG Converter, version 9.0 or later and then import the DNG in Lightroom 3 which allows you to convert your RAW photos to DNG.

  • Impossible to import the same project name as a previously deleted

I had a project in Flash Builder, I needed to update; the old version was a Flash Professional project using a FLA, but the new version uses a different folder structure and XFL. I have a click with the right button on the old project in Flash Builder and choose 'Remove', then choose the option "do not remove content". Then, I renamed the project folder and put the new version of the project with the same name of file, in the same place.

Flash Builder doesn't let me import the new version of the project. It will take me through the Import Wizard, but when he finished nothing appears in Flash Builder. Almost seems as if there is a flag 'permanently ignore this name forever projects' hidden somewhere, although I hope that FB was not inflexible. Anyone know how to fix this? Thank you.

Eclipse has serious problems with distinguish uppercase / lowercase in project names and will be silently fails if the name of a project changes in the case. Apparently even if you delete the project, then rebuild. So I had to change the capitalization to match the previous version.

All the examples I've seen for ttbulkcp show import a simple, is dump file to import a dump file directory anyway?

No, but it's not difficult to write a shell script to automate...

  • Impossible to import the bookmarks file (file is JSON or HTML)

Recently, I reformatted my laptop with a friend (works in), and from what I remember, he saved bookmarks via the function "import and backup / Backup".
When I went to import back into Firefox, and I sailed to the location of the file, it was apparently not recognized because it does not appear in the folder, in that I know that it is. While in this process, I noticed also that Firefox is either looking for a JSON or HTML file. When I looked more closely the backup file, I noticed that it doesn't have a file extension. When I looked at the properties of the file, it simply says "file". I went online looking for an online tool to identify the file and found TrID (http://mark0.net/onlinetrid.aspx/). When I ran across this identification software all that I got was:

"The file appears to be crude/ASCII text. TrID is best suited for analysing binary files! »

As I don't see any option in Firefox to load this file type, I wondered what could have been hurt during the backup process.
I was able to open the file in Excel (just a hunch because it "seemed" be a text file based on the identification of online files). The file opened, useless of course, but at least it seems that the file is not corrupted in any case.

Please could someone help me with this? I have all my links job search in this backup, and it would be a ton of effort to recreate all this!

My next try to discover what was going on would be to check the location of the files. A folder root drive can contain as many files, (depending on the file system used, such as Fat32 or NTFS). I wouldn't count the number of files successfully in the root and see if you're on that, based on the constraints of the file system. When you click right a drive and properties, it shows the file in use for this drive system.

If you talk to import raw images from this camera then you will need to switch to Lightroom 6 or the latest DNG converter allows to create copies DNG that you can open in Lightroom 5. There will be no updates Lightroom 5. The camera is too recent to be supported by any version of Lightroom 5.
