Impossible to navigate in the registry

Hello

I have 4 server environment Hyperion.

Server 1: Oracle DB (AIX)

Server 2: Hyperion Foundation/Web (AIX)

Server 3: Essbase Server (AIX)

Server 4: EPMA + FDMEE (WIN 2012)

I was able to properly configure server 2, Server 4 but when I try to configure the Essbase Server I get the usual impossible to navigate a registry error.

  • I understand that this could be due to insufficient privileges on the schema, but I have already given connect, create view, create tables, create session, resource, unlimited tablespace to SharedServiceSchema.
  • I validated permission for where I am Setup and it's 750 on /oraessbase. This is the place where I installed. He has the permission to complete mount point.
  • I have validated the resolution of host names. They are correctly pointing to the IP address of the Service from the system.
  • It does not generate an error in the folder user_projects. Likewise, it does not create the folder epmsystem1 under this location.

error_dsg.png

Is there anything else I should look at apart from that.

It was a problem with the host names. On some servers/etc/hosts has no entry for DB and another had a different name. Create a/etc/hosts file with all hosts in an environment and it reproduced in all servers in this environment

  • Impossible to navigate through the table of contents

Whenever I have re-launch of a course, I can't access the slides/pages displayed previously despite the TOC enabled.

I've hidden the slides and I use the model resulted in SendTrackingDataatEnd with the following parameters:

    • Self-paced learning
    • Activate the navigation
    • Sailed visited slides only
    • Set output to normal after the end

    Thank you!

Self-paced learning is disabled when you enable the communication to an LMS.  So you can forget this work to mark the location you last reached during the access to the course.  On the other hand, Bookmarking of resume data may work when you report to your LMS (based on the LMS), but it will have NO impact on your table of contents at the start of the race for the second time.

  • Can I access the registry of a Windows installation on a disk that is not the main Windows disk?

The original installation was Windows 2000 Server. The old motherboard failed. The disc is fine.

There is information in the original register I want to import into the new registry of Server 2008.

Can I access this original registry if the drive on which he lives is seen as separated by another installation disc?

IE: I have the original disc of server installed on a PC bench. This PC bench sees the original server disk in drive E:

I am able to see the entire disk of the original server disk structure.

Can I access the registry Windows of this disc?

Can I export a few registry keys to import them into the new registry of the server?

    Yes.

You can do this by using Regedit and editing of your disk E: registry as a "hive" in your registry active.  To do this, follow the following procedure:

    • First, back up your current registry in case things go wrong.  Then
    • Start Regedit (start-> Run-> 'regedit')
    • Start Regedit, click once on 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE' (or HKEY_USERS) to select
    • Select the file-> load hive
    • Navigate to the registry file you want to extract entries from and double-click it
      (Probably E:\Windows\System32\Config\...)
    • A window will appear asking a key name.  Enter something unique (I'll use "ABC" here)
    • Now, look in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE".  You will see an entry 'ABC '.  Navigate in this article and you will find entries to the registry hive that you selected.  You can now extract parts of it with the file-> export
    • Take what you want then once finished, click once on the entry 'ABC' and make a file-> unload the hive.
    • Exit Regedit
    • After the export of the files, use a text editor to edit the path in the exported file to where you want to put in your registry and double-click it to merge in.

Hope that this gets you where you want to be,
    JW

  • Manager of the registry editor and the task does not not XP clean install

    Hi all

I use Windows Xp professional. As soon as I installed Windows I wanted to see 'Task Manager' and 'the registry editor. But I'm not able to open these two applications.

Whenever I try to run regedit or taskmgr I get this message "task manager / the registry editor" has been blocked by your system administrator.

I tried a few methods such as downloading a file .vbs script that opens the registry editor and also tried to activate it in the gpedit.msc but I'm still not able to do it properly.

Can someone help me on this please?

Enable the Task Manager in Windows XP

    1. start Windows to your habit.

    2. click on 'start '. Then highlight and click on 'run '.

    3. Type "REGEDIT" in the text bar and press "enter."

4 4 naviguer navigate in the registry, locate the following directory: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER-Software-Microsoft-Windows------CurrentVersion------Policies\ system.»

5.right click "HKEY_CURRENT_USER", then click on 'New' from the context menu to include a new string. This is necessary only when the necessary directory is not present in the registry. By default, Windows XP Home Edition does not include the necessary directories chain.

    6. click on the part of the sentence "DisableTaskMgr" and delete it. It's the easiest way to do it, but it makes it harder to fix in the future. You will need to manually reenter the chain if you don't back up first.

7 change the numbers in the Boolean section of the entry from one to zero. This will allow the Task Manager in Windows XP. Note that zero is essentially equivalent to a positive input in this regard, that the original string is a negative.

8 change the string manually in the window "Run" from the Start Menu, without having to access the registry editor. Just type "REG add HKCU/v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0/f" in the text field and press "Enter"...

Please do the above methods and even if it does not work with these processes then mail me... my mail is * address email is removed from the privacy *. am vijay... waitin 4 your rly... try it & IT... It is easy...

  • While the research on how to correct an error in the observer of events, W32 tried merging a .reg file and got an error message saying could not access the registry, why?

    http://www.techexams.NET/blogs/jdmurray/synchronizing-the-time-on-Windows-XP-and-Vista-with-the-Internet/

Hello, I'm under win xp pro svc pk 3, ie 8, x32bit.

I received an error in the Event Viewer system for time synchronization W32. Help box said not to worry if it's a computer for the home user, but I'm tired of doing all the time, every day, so I tried to find a way to get rid of it. On bing, I found the above Web site and tried to merge the nist servers in my registry but I kept getting msg. :

Impossible to import c:\doc and set\adm\dsktop\timeservers.reg: the specified file is not a registry script. You can only import binary registry files in the registry editor.

the first msg not acceding, and I guess it was because I had the registry open at the same time. Anyway after that I couldn't import, just add the items in the registry manually.

My question is, really, was performed correctly by the copy of the list of servers of time in the text, paste it into a file and you try to merge?

Appreciate any assistance with this issue.

    Just for info:

If you see a message similar to the following:

Impossible to import c:\Documents and Settings\Jose\Desktop\enableit.reg: the specified file is not a registry script.
You can only import binary registry files in the registry editor.

That means either that your registry import file is missing the top line (or it's the wrong syntax):

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

or the file you are trying to import is not a valid registry import file.

  • Impossible to manually add the wireless network

I need to manually add a wireless network to the laptop. When I click on add in the wireless connection properties window, however there is no pop-up window. If I try on a similar laptop windows wireless network properties appears. The Wireless Auto-Configuration service is started. How can I get the wireless network properties window?

I was finally able to solve this problem and I posted the results on another forum, I used for this purpose.  Here is the text exactly as I posted on the other forum.  It answers some of your questions.
Regarding other software that manages the wireless card, Yes, there are (Atheros), he was not managing the adapter (off a long time ago), however, to be sure, I removed it to run in the registry.

Here is the text of how I solved the problem, I mentioned.  If you have more questions, feel free to post them.

    *****

I am just posting this here because I could solve the problem and not able to find a reliable source on the internet on a fix for this and for a problem that is the result of my attempts to fix it.

This is the situation and my landline.

I was getting this error message

    "Impossible to migrate dependent packages.

After trying to install a pacakage KB. It did not matter that one but they have been associated with the Wireless settings.

I continued to try to install the newer packages.
    KB893357
    KB917021
    KB918997

Each gave me the same message

    "Impossible to migrate dependent packages.

I read online that I install KB937143 (update IE7) could help.

I did this and still got the same message on dependent modules.
I also had another problem occur.
In the section my network places properties connection wireless adapters, whenever I clicked the Add button / PROPERTIES without window appears to allow me to change the settings, however, I was able to remove items from the preferred networks window.

My Automatic Configuration Service wireless is running and took Windows to configure my wireless settings.

I downloaded the updates for my driver Wlan (WiFiHP 500) and I still had the same problems.

I restarted KB918997 using the/log option and read the log file. This is the last important lines:

    33.849: MigrateHotfix: hotfix migration KB937143
    34.129: migrating QFE KB937143 with command line: update.exe z q - B: sp2qfe
    36.783: failed 1603 Update.exe.
    36.793: MigrateHotfixes: KB937143 Migration failed
    36.793: DoInstallation: Migration failed
36.933: failed to migrate dependent packages.
39.597: message displayed to the user: cannot migrate dependent packages.

I then uninstalled the KB937143 package and reinstalled KB918997 update with the newspaper of Pétion and he went along. I also tested the buttons add and PROPERTIES in the window of Favorites and those networks worked too.

I checked the logfile KB918997 and he showed this:
42.311: MigrateHotfix: hotfix migration KB932168 have
    42.511: migrating QFE KB932168 have with the command line: update.exe z q - B: sp2qfe
88.768: MigrateHotfix: Hotfix KB932168 successfully migrated
    88.768: MigrateHotfixes: return code: 3010
    88.928: DoInstallation: Migration succeeded

As a side note, I restarted the laptop frequently just to be sure.

So, really, the option of running with the Ko log file helped me diagnose the problem.

  • Restore the registry keys to the initial state of work - XP NTFS and permissions

We have a system Dell / Windows XP (32-bit) / NTFS.

We have changed the permissions and registry keys and need to bring back them to the original state when we bought them. At this very moment the administrator cannot see the network and we think that it was something to do with the registry keys or authorization keys (more than likely the permissions).  We tried to restore the computer to several different States of known work and it is impossible to restore. We do not have a backup, but they have all the original disks that came with it. Is it possible to restore these settings?  Thank you

How long have you had this problem, or at least first noticed?  One solution might be to perform a restore of the system to a point in time before having this problem.  Please let us know status.

What is your solution if all the drivers I downloaded from microsoft Update site and support Web is unexecutable because of registry files missing that causes all the executable files and com files to display error messages when clicked. What was missing in the original windows registry files after running the tool registry optimizer? What was missing in my windows vista original? Need help 4th level or windows file recovery software onwer.

I was able to surf the internet, able to do facebooking, capable of voip webcam and chat however installation and admin work on operating system software has been disabled due to lack of the registry files all the executable files was disabled after a registry cleaning registry optimizer and all the setup.exe has been disabled when I run saying them I don't have permission to run setup.exe because I like not connected to the microsoft Group Policy Server, but it is an original windows software, I can download files from the microsoft Web site and save on my drive hard but cannot run the executable installation files, which was lacking in system files that stopped all the executable files to run, except the internet broadband. Hello

    Method 1:

I suggest you to do a scan of the SFC. File system (CFS) Auditor verifies that all Windows 7 system files are where they should be as they are by default and not corrupted, changed or damaged.

    a. Click Start, click principally made programs, accessories, right-click on command prompt and select run as administrator.

    b. click on continue or provide administrator credentials if prompted.

    c. in the type in the following command prompt window and press ENTER:

    d. sfc/scannow

    e. you should see the following message on the screen:

§ Begin the analysis of the system. This process will take time.

§ Beginning verification phase of system scan.

    f. % verification complete.

    g. once the scan is complete, a test to see if the problem you are experiencing is resolved or not.
